Rating: Uhhhh should be pretty PG
Warnings: Nothing really...

Room 1-16 / hallway

[As soon as Waver is able to move, he jumps up from the bed, desperately looking around. He's also sure to check his right hand, but as there's nothing there, he quickly sees the last few days of calm weren't anything like a dream.

After noticing the letters and reading them over twice, he sets them aside. What's written there can't possibly be true, nothing could destroy the entire world so suddenly. Knowing that is a relief, but, he's still trapped somewhere unfamiliar. He quickly finds his trunk and the contents, swapping that awful bodysuit for a good sensible set of clothes immediately. ...And, underneath those, a book. He bends down to pick it up and turns it over to read the title. The Iliad, that same new but worn out copy. After thinking on it for a moment, he goes back to his bed and sets it under the pillow. That's what Alexander was said to have done, after all, right?]

Floor 45

[An observatory, that's perfect! He can get a good look at what lies outside the tower, maybe even spot where there might be somewhere to get outside. He stands up against the window, placing his hands on it to steady himself as he tries to look out.

He sighs.]

Nothing but clouds, huh...that's useless...

[As he begins to look up again, he shouts, falling backwards and trying to scramble away from the creature which had been face-to-face with him. Even though he was only just pressed up against the glass himself, he's completely forgotten it's there between them and can only stare in horror at the thing staring straight back at him.]

Floor 19

[After exploring the tower, Waver returns to the library. He wants to get through as much as he can right away, but with the size of the library, and there being two, even he knows it will have to be done over a period of time, not all in one sitting. Even so, he goes down the aisles, scanning for anything that looks like like it might contain relevant information. Anything which might give a better understanding of the tower and its intents. If he's especially lucky - maybe a book on magic which he might use to escape.

Going between the rows of shelves with a pile of books in his arms, stacked up to his chin, which he rests on them to keep the precarious stack stead, suddenly he notices something. The section clearly marked 'history' is entirely empty - the section which was sure to be most useful to him. Several books from the top fall from his stack as he whips around to be sure it hasn't simply moved over to the next shelf, or that his eyes are otherwise playing tricks on him. And then he throws the others down, shaking his head and gripping his it with both hands.]

Aah, what the hell?! You're kidding me, right?! Hey, someone forgot to put the books away, you can't just leave a whole section empty...!

Floor 14

[Through the stress of the day, around the time that would be called 'after dinner', Waver heads back to his room and slips a game into the front of his sweater (first checking no one will see, of course). He then goes down to the media room and finds a good corner to wind down and set up Admirable War Tactics.]

Tohko usually didn't come up to this library, as the book here weren't as tasty or enjoyable as the ones on the lower floors. However, recent events had showed her in here, and she had been reading a book on depression and it's psychological effects in the corner when she heard someone yelling. She quickly closed the book, rushed to the noise, and found a boy carrying a large book pile yelling about the empty history section. Since books were also falling from his pile, Tohko picked them up as she quickly spoke.

"No one forgot to put the books away. That section has always been empty. It was left that way by the Administrators." Tohko paused for a moment as she put the fallen books on a nearby table. "I'm guessing that you're new around here."

Tohko sighed. "Please, calm down. Normally, I would agree with you, and it's possible that there are some history books for that empty section. However, the Administrators have taken them all away and hidden them. No one knows where, and the Administrators are pretty tight-lipped about it." While Tohko wasn't much of a history buff, she did understand why this guy was upset. Losing books was annoying, especially books that let you know about where you were.

Tohko nodded at those last lines. "So you had no idea that we're not really in control of what books get pulled or put onto the shelves. But now you do."

"No. Sadly, you don't." Tohko then sighed again. "Let's see..from what I've heard and experienced, there are at least three people running this Tower. Dax, who is the most humane of the bunch, Jason, who is cruel and will put you through inhuman experiments, and Ruana, who is even worse than Jason. Of course, there may be a few more people that I'm not aware of."

"Let's see..the normal standard for a humane, at least, with Dax, is living peacefully around the Tower, dealing with whatever it throws at us. I personally haven't met him, but I've heard from several people that he hates unnecessary violence and Jason's experiments. So I don't think he looks good just because the others are crazy and horrible."

"I think it is." Tohko sighed and nodded at the mention of the experiments. "Sadly, they are. I've heard that Jason grabbed a few people last month and put them in terrible living conditions while torturing them. And the most recent experiment, the one I was in, you were forced to wear a costume and gather a certain number of candies each day. If you didn't, your costume would crush you, and you would come back as a warped, twisted version of your costume."

Tohko had hated that event. It had taken her awhile in that event to realize what was happening, but by then, she had already killed a few people, thanks to her twisted maid-mind.

[ ...

Uh.. what.. that.. sure is a thing.. Why is he hiding a book. Under his pillow. A pretty boring looking book too-- why does he always get stuck with the weirdos. (Maybe because you're king weirdo yourself, Leon.) ]

So, do you always do that? [ Casually standing in the doorway, dwi, dwi. ]

"I'd think of a large organization of witches and wizards, but I've never heard the term before." Tohko smiled. "I'm guessing that it's something that existed in your world, huh? I'm not sure if the Admins are witches and wizards. As far as I can tell, they're mainly just a bunch of screwed-up people with high-tech tools." Tohko said the last bit thanks to a bit of deductive power. This guy was asking about witches and wizards after talking about the Admins, so he must be thinking that the Admins were magical or had ties to magic.

Maybe.

[Kariya shuffles forward at the sound of a shout, worried that someone might be hurt. He's not in the best state himself, but he still has a will to help others. His arm is wrapped around his body as he moves, his right arm holding on to his left. He doesn't bother to hide his Command Seals.

He sees the young man and the creature at the same time. Having spent a little time in the observatory himself, he's more or less confident that the creatures can't attack (or they don't seem to be able to), but they are startling, as he knows from experience.
]

Hello--are you all right? They can't get in.

[Kariya doesn't hesitate to walk closer to Waver and the thing--he'd been scared at first, but now he knows better. He looks at it, and it looks back, and he still feels afraid, but he's certain now, after spending some time waiting and resting here, that there isn't any real danger. (In spite of the stories he's heard about a space whale.) He would fight the thing, if it attacked, but he doesn't believe that will happen.

He's glad he can be of some help, if it's only to reassure.
]

It looks that way, but things aren't what they seem here. I've been here a while, and I don't think it will.

I think we're safe.

[Illya had been sitting and resting as she watched people coming and going for some time now. She really hadn't thought anything of Waver, but his game had caught her interest.

Moving to Waver's position, she greets her fellow magus with a smile on her face.]

Whatcha doing?

[Illya looks at the game screen for a moment then back to Waver. She really had no idea what it all meant but it was interesting to look at.]

Ohhhh, no one I know was ever into that kind of stuff.

Are you worried?

[Ryuunosuke seems completely calm, despite Waver's outburst.]

It's not like they can get to you, so whatever they look like, it's no problem, right?
