mundane tasks in a not-mundane place
Characters: AU Kyuubey, open to all.
Setting: Floor 11
Format: Starting with action brackets, but I'll match you.
Summary: Between the wear and tear of life in the Tower and a run-in with SAW!Rose a while back, Kyuu's got some laundry to do. Literally.
Warnings: Possible death because, well, incubator.
[Humans find stained clothing distressing. The best way to deal with them is to wash them out. As clothes-washing machines cannot be found, more primitive means must be used.
...is about how Kyuu's thought process went when ze decided to do some laundry. The jumpsuit provided by the administrators, specifically, was an absolute mess. Therefore, it required cleaning in order to be serviceable again. Throwing it away was out of the question; waste not want not after all, and it would be good for wearing again once it was cleaned.
(Yeah, ze's been wearing the friggin' jumpsuit most of the time - when in humanoid form, that is. No, Kyuu doesn't have a sense of fashion, why do you ask.)
At any rate, Kyuu is now on the eleventh floor, washing zir jumpsuit in the lake. Thankfully, there were spare clothes in zir trunk, so ze is wearing this for a change.
And yes, ze is humanoid right now.

But she clicks the safety on. ]
Elaborate.

The emotions came first, for the record. So you see, I really am damaged by incubator standards. [Ze manages to crack a not-exactly-happy smile.] Considering how we are though, you probably already know about incubator standards, huh?

[ She considers this. Being given a human form, the burden of emotions, and having their wishing game turned against one of them. Part of Homura is satisfied. The other part of her wonders if this makes Kyuueby more of a danger or not. ]
How does it feel, then?

[ She lowers the weapon completely, holding it limply at her side. ]
You regret it, then?

[Ze smiles grimly and shakes zir head.]
But the mission had to continue, you know? To do otherwise...
[Would have meant being quarantined, killed - would have meant an undamaged incubator taking zir place.]
Well, it isn't like I didn't deserve getting beat up! Though it was pretty confusing till I learned about the time-jumping thing.

[ Everything. Every time she destroyed your creepy little body so you could eat it up, and that wish. She won't let herself feel sorry for Incubator's position. ]
If you know of that, then you know that I have no reason to harm you. [ She stores the gun. ] The Kaname Madoka of this world has contracted. You are the least of her concerns now.

[Only three times now, but that's all right - but at the mention of Madoka, zir expression shifts to something a bit gentler.]
She saved us all, you know. I think...I'm happy to have been able to grant that wish.

"I wish to destroy every witch before they are born. Every wish from every world, from the past and the future, with my own hands. ...Grant it, Incubator." I think that wish did just fine, even if it was pretty scary to hear at first.

What are you talking about?

[There's a pause. Are things truly so different? Homura was there to see it, wasn't she? Ze stops to give Homura a look. Oh...]
...What was the last thing that happened in your world?
[Is this how it feels to accidentally give out spoilers?]
no subject
[ Homura shows unusual tact as she says "chasing" rather than "shooting you over and over without mercy." ]
... However, it has been clear from the beginning that you and I are from different timelines. [ Such a perfect ending... could never happen for Homura. She has long since outgrown the idea that a wish could save anyone. Wishes are what started this cycle. ]

[The "oops" expression is pretty blatant; ze never did figure out how to hide emotions in this form. Well, not all that well, anyway.]
I'm from a lot further along in the timeline. Is this what humans call "spoilers"...?
no subject
It's impossible. ]
Our worlds are different. Such a future will not come to pass in my timelines.
[ It can't. Because Madoka doesn't want to be tricked by Incubator. She doesn't want to become a Puella Magi. And Homura will turn back time again and again, however often she must, to ironically grant that wish.
Homura turns now and heads for the staircase. ]
Well then. If you insist on washing that alone, I have no reason to be here any longer. Good bye, Incubator.

[And back to washing clothes ze goes. The chances aren't impossible, after all - just very, very low. That doesn't mean they don't exist, though.
Ze knows that very well by now.]
