Setting: Workshop (15th Floor) on the 14th.
Format: Action
Summary: As planned, Doc is gonna try and set up a Nuclear Portable Reactor to power up Sertoria, and it is gonna go very very wrong. Floor 12 to 17 will be flooded with radiation from now on to the 18th. Details can be found here.

There will be three threads, one for where you can tag Doc, Marty and Sertoria before the attempts begin. The second thread will be the "experiment and the reactor exploding (your character is free to witness that or flee from it or be a deadspan snarker and say what a bad idea that is). The third thread will happen right after the explosion where you can meet survivors (if there are any or have your character caught up in the explosion).

Amon-ra should clean the radiation progressively then, some androids dispose of the nuclear core and the tower will clean it all by the 18th. Feel free to tag any threads. Oh and this event may set Rei on berserk mode OR SOMETHING.

The corner of the Workshop Floor that was used by Doc as his lab looked pretty much as weird as it usually did... Except weirder even today. Strange and clunky inventions were around, which for the most part did not even work at all (he had no idea as for why, they should all work fine really), the screen he used to work on the time machine--

Except today these screens displayed data about a small nuclear reactor laid atop a table with many wires hanging outside of it, Mr. Fusion. This one was smaller than the one he worked on before, small enough that it could be used to power up Sertoria as he tried to do. And of course, all three Doc, Marty and Sertoria were working on the final preparation.

Oh, and there were now two dogs. Einstein as always was there, but there also were Copernicus. Very similar to Einstein albeit younger and smaller (even though timeline-wise Copernicus was the oldest Doc). The October event had, at least, allowed him to reunite with an old friend.

[Tohko, having finished cleaning up floor eighteen-which wasn't technically a library, but Tohko treated it as such-she wandered down the steps, reading Brave New World. However, as she was walking down the steps, something caught her eye. In the workshop, quite a few devices were set up, and some people were working on them. Puzzled, Tohko closed her book and wandered in.]

Pardon me, but what are you guys doing here?

[Puru Two had heard of the doctor, and felt the need to go there. She needed technology, and fast, to build more funnels. And if this doctor could help in any way, then things could improve.]

Is the doctor in? I need to borrow your tech to build something.

[Walking around and double checking the wired connections, Marty often had to shoo the dogs out of the way before he tripped on them. For some reason, they seemed a bit agitated.

Marty wasn't feeling all that comfortable himself, here. Nuclear reactors, even ones supposedly as safe as Mr. Fusion, probably weren't a good idea in the Tower.]

Doc, I know you said it'd be safe, but I can't help this weird feeling, like something's going to go wrong.

[He's staring at all the failed experiments when he says that.]

[And what the hell are you doing in the workshop with that thing.]

Are you serious?!

The explosion itself hadn't felt too bad. It was really bright and it had burned, but Rei could regenerate. Within a couple of minutes, her body was back up to form. However, the problem was a minute or two after regeneration, she started to develop a headache. Strange, since she's not used to being sick.

Ah, her core is pulsating. It's pulsating pretty hard. Her chest feels hot and her limbs feel heavy. Something is definitely wrong with her.

The infirmary? Yes, she'll go there.

But all these shadows are in the way. Shadows. Lillim. Corrupters. Those who defied Father's Will.

No...why was she thinking like this? She was no tool of Adam.

Then, was she a fallen one? An angel whose wings had been cut away. Once a heavenly being an now an infernal monster.

But monster though she may be, she's a monster who protects those she loves.

...She really needs to get to the infirmary before her thoughts gets any weirder.

Of course, she's would be quite a surprise to anyone who could see her slowly moving form. After all, crystal wings are spouting from her back. Degenerated arms and legs growing from her stomach claw at her chest. And eyes ever opening everywhere on her arms and legs.

Oh, this? [He points Mr. Fusion.] Nothing much, we are simply preparing to connect the nuclear reactor to Sertoria!

[ Speaking as though it's the most naaaatural thing in the world. ]

[ Doc waves at wherever the voice comes from when he hears a voice asking for the the doctor, though he doesn't turn from the reactor as he is settling something. ]

I am afraid we will be short on time, you may have to come back later! What is it you needed?

Marty, we have used Mr. Fusion before without any problems!

[ He turns to Marty once he's done connecting a wire-- Obviously this use of the reactor was quite different from the usual, but...

Why would it fail? It's safe technology. He looks at the failed experiment and shakes his head. ]

These failed, but a few works like the pancake maker, and we have beforehand experience here.

Serious? Serious about what, Mr. Fusion? Of course we are, why wouldn't we be?

[ Speaking as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Because it is, seriously. ]

I need--wait, what the hell is that?

[Puru Two is now pointing at that reactor. Something about it...it didn't settle right with her.]

[A nuclear reactor?! Tohko's eyes went wide at that.]

Hang on here! A nuclear reactor is dangerous. If you fail, you could kill everyone here and contaminate the floors with radiation! Maybe you should work on something else.

Mr Fusion! Don't worry, it's simply a nuclear reactor!

[ Totally normal stuff, really. ]

No no, don't worry! I have used it before, Mr Fusion is a very safe source of power!

[ He shakes his head and looks reassuring. ]

It's a very advanced piece of technology, no nuclear material is used here, it runs on garbage, litterally.

....[Puru Two's brain tried to piece together the information, looking for a way to calmly react.

And failed.]

ARE YOU INSANE? Why the hell would you make something like that!?

[Huh. Technology that ran on garbage. This man was either a very brilliant scientist or from the future. Or both.]

While that is amazing, the Administrators here love being cruel, and it's not like this Tower is exactly safe either. Even if Mr Fusion worked well back in your world, it may just blow up here.

[ Both indeed, though not exactly from the future per se. ]

Don't worry, I have expected this possibility! I have made calculations on my computer to adjust Mr. Fusion to the tower's environment and all simulation turn out to be just fine!

[ He looks surprised. Insane? Now that's a big word. ]

We are trying to install it as a power source for Sertoria to help her to be closer from human being!

But what if your calculations are off? Or what if the Tower or the Admins decide to mess with you at the last second? It's not like this is a closed lab where no one will die. This is very risky.

Yeah, but, we've never hooked it up to an android before... I could barely get my guitar to work with a regular amp after you built the mega-amp, and she's got all this alien tech stuff. What if they're not compatible? You know, like dropping acid into alkalines.

[Marty's been doing some serious studying, apparently.]

[Marty was at his place, keeping an eye on the computer readouts, looking for any variances that might indicate trouble. This stuff wasn't as hard as he thought it'd be, mostly thanks to Doc's guidance.]

[...So she decides to drop by the Workshop just for curiosity's sake, and what does she find? An obsolete piece of tech that could potentially go haywire. Not that Drive Cores were any safer, but geez... :|]

I won't be surprised if that explodes in your face.

[ Doc was ready as well, looking at a last few minute settings. Everything looked good and it should go without the least problem. ]

I think we're all good, Marty, Sertoria, Whenever you are ready!

[ He looked pretty serious but his voice was reassuring. ]
