02 | There are beautiful things seen by the astronauts

Format: Action starting, but will match.
Summary: V/V can't communicate with anyone, pretty much, so there's only two things she can do: play her guitar and give hugs.
Warnings: None

[V/V does not speak common languages. In fact, she thinks her language isn't known by anyone else in this tower, or very nearly anyone. But she does know how to make people happy!

Those in the tower may see the angel walking around carrying her guitar in a case slug over her shoulder. She holds a sign that looks like this:



Upon spotting someone, she may wave enthusiastically at them. Do you want a hug?]

[Eridan is stuck in both Alternian and English for the duration, so there's not much he can do right now for her in terms of language, but he does offer her a little smile when he sees her, along with a wave of his hand. He does tilt his head to the side at the sign though.]

You want a hug?

[Not that. Saying it out loud helps much.]

[How to explain it... She doesn't know if she got the message across - her art's not that good - so she sets the sign aside and opens her arms.]

Uh.

[He looks a little uncomfortable, scratching the back of his neck.]

I guess... I could... give... you... one...

[I mean, that's the universal sign of hug me, right? Right. Uh.]

The role of eldritch horror will be helpfully played by Thai because I'm lazy.

[She's really not sure whether that was a yes or a no.]

[Well, they're not sensitive, in general, just their resident, psychic emissary from the void having the hideous ability to make headsassplode all over the galaxy. But hey, Eridan is a Derse dreamer and his roommate is occasionally possessed by a limb-creaking tree of horror and his ex was kind of the same, so he's a bit more used to it than most.

So on the upside, instead of you know, screaming in horror and running away, he's just. Going to stare a little.]

[V/V doesn't think that was a good tone of voice. She covers her mouth and resists the urge to apologize, instead settling for looking sad.]

[Oh wow, shit. SO NOT THE REACTION HE EXPECTED. Fuck. Eridan flails a little, waving his hands up.]

Hey, hey, it's chill. Okay? Hey.

[Oh wow, now he feels like a dick.]

Hey, V/V?

[He steps closer slowly, looking concerned.]

C'mon, it's okay, no big deal.

[heavenscorpse]

[...It's okay? But she's obviously something strange and unsettling and that's not okay... Still, she lowers her hands from her face and threads her hands together in nervousness anyway.]

[Awww! That sign is awfully adorable. Feferi bounces on her heels a little, waving back. Opening one's arms is the universal sign that hugs are okay, no?]

[Yaaay~ V/V sets the sign aside and goes in for the hug.

Hugs are a universal language of 'I appreciate your existence', as far as she's concerned.]

[Eridan let's out a huge sigh, shaking his head. Blame his natural Aquarius propensity for melodrama. He opens his arms for her.]

Come on, now. You want a hug and you damn well be getting one.

[It really is okay. V/V goes in for a hug, not too tight but enough to say what she wants to say in the universal language of hugs: 'thank you'.

[They pretty much are the universal sign of 'hey, you are here and you exist and I like that.' Plus, Feferi has yet to meet anyone with wings here in the tower that she doesn't like. Wings tend to equal 'this person is a complete and utter sweetheart' in her book.]

Thank you. That's a reely sweet thing to do.

[She points to the sign, then smiles.]

[Eridan is really not one for hugs from random people. Or touch in general, but he braves the hug like a good soldier and hides most of his discomfort about it, patting her back gently.]

See? No big deal.

[She's learned her lesson from Eridan and keeps quiet, but she does smile back.

Next she'll tap her guitar case, and then to Feferi. 'Would you like me to play for you?']

[Soon V/V lets go. She steps back, then taps on her guitar case pointedly.

She can play music for people. Maybe that will make up for the mistake?]

[ Oh, it's the girl she's given singing lessons to. Sayaka is confused by the picture at first, but then recognizes it as a... hug? Is she asking for hugs?

She'll wave back at the girl, and then points to the picture questioningly. Figures that V/V will probably be unable to understand her language. ]

If you don't mind me singing along? Unless you sing. I'd love to hear it, no matter the language.

Ah! I'm Feferi. It's nice to meet you.

[She settles down not far from the case, brushing her hair out of her face.]

[V/V sets the sign down and opens her arms with a smile.

Hugs, Sayaka Maizono, are a universal language.]

[He tilts his head to the side, then shrugs again. Those shrugs start piling up fast when you don't have his words to distract you, huh? But he offers her a lopsided smile and a nod.

Look, she's not looking pointedly sad anymore, so that's a good thing, right?]

[Pulling the guitar out of the case, V/V sits down near her.

She starts without words, but eventually, she can't help but try to add the lyrics to it, which come out in lovely and musical horrorterror.]

[Time to get out the guitar! She knows a few songs, one of which she usually plays with no lyrics, and that's the one she plays for him.

Other people liked it, so maybe he will too.]

[After a few moments of listening, Feferi begins to hum along. The words don't bother her in the slightest; she's used to hearing the horrorterrors sing. It's been such a long time, though, and her voice can't help catching a little at some of the harmonies. Not in a bad way, not at all. She's just nostalgic, and a bit homesick. She's okay, though; the smile never fades.]

[Oh, she's not mad at her... That's good. When the song ends, V/V ducks her head, embarrassed a little, but smiling. It's the first time she's sung that and the words can't even be understood.]

[Oh, that's pretty. He relaxes a little, expression mellowing out as the song goes on. When she's done, he politely claps at it, to let her know he liked it.]
