when with the fortunate only

Characters: Juliet and Caster
Setting: starting on the third floor
Format: prose to start maybe a shift idc
Summary: Just because you want to research everything doesn't mean you can neglect sleep.
Warnings: I doubt you can get awful with these two.

Ever since that post, she had been looking. Sure she still had to work on the pieces people had commissioned from her, but she could take her work with her as she researched, scanning over everything since she had arrived, looking for information. Going into the archives would be work, but without a threat of dying it was too tempting. The same crew of some jaded, some naive, some interesting and others not. She needed to know, needed to not be just another lost someone in this-what had they called it-tower of animus. You could let the information dealer roam where she pleased, but you couldn't stop her once she found her second profession.

The question did remain-how would she be able to conduct herself in this new environment, seeing as she intended to return in the future and keep up with everything. That could be dealt with later, she needed the knowledge base to work off of first. Probably she'd have to find someone to fill Tom's role.

And with all of this in her head, it was easy to get distracted of the time, to be reading and reading and reading at the terminal until her eyes got heavy and her head fell onto the keyboard, accidentally sending something out to the place.

mkbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbik

She's fast asleep now, notebook next to the terminal, and she doesn't seem to be moving. Whoops.
koncubine: Caster looking over her shoulder. (But you can run faster)

When Caster found the network message, she couldn't help laughing at the nonsense from one "Juliet Sutcliffe". Could it be the same person from before? Only one way to find out, as they say.

She certainly wasn't going to temper her curiosity, either, and within minutes, the Servant was tracking down the source of the message. When she finally arrives, it's not at all what she was expecting, and somehow, it's all the better for it.

"Ohhh, so it is you, after all."

With a smile, she sits next to Juliet, waving a hand in front of her face to make sure she's asleep. What an unguarded sort of girl, to be able to rest out in public like this.

She leans over Juliet's shoulder, trying not to laugh as she checks out what it was the red-head had been doing that made her so tired she passed out at a terminal. Her eyes land on the notes just above Juliet's hands and reaches for them.

"And what's this?"

Is snooping supposed to be a bad thing? Not to Caster, it isn't! She quickly snatches the book up and starts paging through it while Juliet sleeps next to her.
koncubine: Caster looking wistful. (I asked a question)

The notes make Caster smile even wider, both from her inner gossip monger getting its fill and from the section about herself. It's nice to have made a good impression on someone Caster has begun to see as a kindred spirit in romance, and the idea of being friends is nostalgic and enticing to her.

She reads the more serious notes carefully, making sure to remember the details before tucking the notes in with the pile of fabric, making a pretense of gathering everything together for Juliet.

"Hey, hey," she calls, softly at first. Caster doesn't want to wake Juliet up too rudely. The gentle brush of her tail over the other woman's face should be enough to tickle her the rest of the way awake, if she's a light sleeper.

"Time to wake up, sleepy head~."
koncubine: Caster smiling widely. (But she's just an empty diamond mine)

Caster gives Juliet a shrug and a smile, flicking her tail to move the long red hair into place.

"You fell asleep on the terminal! Of course, being the caring woman that I am, I couldn't just ignore your call of distress."

She motions to the screen, still displaying the accidental message from earlier.
koncubine: Caster smirking. (Gonna make it clear)

"Oh, but what's the problem with being shameless? At least you're honest about what you want!"

She's teasing, but it's her real opinion of that idea. Shame and playing hard to get is fun for a bit, but if you don't seize the chance to get what you want, it's pure foolishness.

"If you're quick, you might be able to delete it before anyone sees it. Besides me, of course."
koncubine: Caster smiling. (You are the daydream in my eyes)

She chuckles at the thought of Juliet waking up with her hair in rainbow colors or something equally ridiculous. An honest smile peaks out, though it's hard to see it past the amused laugh, "It was no trouble. I wouldn't want you to fall to silly teenage pranks so early!"
