007.

Characters: [AU1] Kanaya Maryam and you!
Setting: Floor 48, the graveyard floor, forward-dated to Dec. 2nd
Format: Starting action, but I'll change to match you! c:
Summary: Kanaya has some friends to say good-bye to.
Warnings: Language and mentions of character death. Par for the course with a Homestuck in Animus.

[Snow has already begun to fall and accumulate on the ground on this floor by the time Kanaya begins her journey through it. She's bundled -- or as bundled as she can be, with bits of her Hemobiologist garb slapped on underneath her usual coat and skirt.

The way her ratty cape flutters at her neck, she almost feels like she's back in her Land.

Kanaya's time here is divided and devoted to a handful of the graves. At some, she pens a message in the snow with her claw, to the best of her ability. To the Signless and the Dolorosa: Thank You. To the very first nullblood Karkat that she met: I Hope Youre Safe. To the Feferi of her universe: I Wish It Had Happened Differently.

On others, she leaves tokens. A simple swatch of bright red cloth for the alpha Terezi. A square of jade with her symbol embroidered messily on it for the alpha Kanaya. She has no offering for the alpha Vriska, but she does not have words, either. She instead settles for a crude representation of a spider in the snow.

A visitor could find her at any one of these graves. Or, most likely, they could find her at the last grave she will visit, kneeling silently before the more recent headstone of one brown-blooded Vriska Serket with not a word or a token to her name.]

Closure.

[He couldn't sound more disdainful if he actually tried to put an inflection on the words, the deadpan alone was dismissive. He snorted, pushing away from the stone, walking past her towards the staircase.]

You're a joke.

[The snide remark, delivered just as he walked past her, sneer slowly bleeding into his face.]

[And then Kanaya is staring at the barrel of a gun and temperature doesn't so much drop as pummel into negative numbers in a way the current climate can't even compare to.]

Get your hands off me.

[The safe clicks off.]

Now.

You don't understand? Of course you don't understand, you self-centered, self-righteous bitch.

[Eridan snarls with all his teeth.]

You want fucking closure, but you won't even fucking bother to talk about it, because you don't fucking care about what really happened, do you? That's not closure, that's covering your fucking eyes and embracing denial so you don't ever have to wonder if you what you did was wrong or not.

[He sneers.]

What did you do? Nothing, Maryam. You did absolutely, fucking jackshit, which is exactly what you've always done. You didn't ask Karkat for answers, and you didn't ask me either. It's that much easier, isn't it? To sit back and be the victim. Like it's my fucking fault you don't understand. Like somehow you're entitled to have the answers delivered to you even if you're too much of a fucking coward to ask the questions. Fuck that. And fuck you too.

Oh, because that's so fucking helpful.

[At the last moment, he shifts the rifle, so rather than shoot her, he uses it to try and parry the incoming attack. Not that it helps any, considering she's so fucking strong.]

Act like a fucking animal, Maryam, that'll sure as fuck will solve everything. What are you going to do, cull me so you get your precious fucking closure?

[This is giving Eridan uncomfortable flashbacks and the fact Kanaya seems so goddamn single-minded about it isn't helping. Really, her mindless rage isn't that far removed from a zombie's mindless hunger, and wow, okay, the last thing we need is him going into panic and shooting Kanaya. He doesn't actually want to shoot Kanaya. Not really. She hasn't done anything, except that's the problem isn't it.

Eridan lands on his back with a wheeze, air forcefully shoved out of his lungs, and keeps trying to block those claws with the rifle, one leg coming up to at least keep her from smothering him.]

You're such a damn fine piece of art.
