Summary: Signless is going to have a long, tough job to put his friend back together - AGAIN.
Warnings: probably lots of swearing, and mention of torture & abuse

Ψiioniic was still half doubled over in shock and pain as Signless hustled him into the room with their names on the door. 'Overlord' Mao was left out in the hall, and part of Ψiioniic's freak-out had a lot to do with the thought of potential punishments he might be suffering the next time he met the strange alien.

The rest of the freak-out was very much focused on the troll right in front of him. "You're dead," he gasped, choking on his tears. "You're dead, I thaw you die."

"Oh- I'm sorry, I..."

She blinked from her place in the doorway, torn between the urge to smile slightly at their position and the curiosity prodding her to question this adult who looked so much like Karkat. But then, it stood to reason if Sollux's ancestor was here, then Karkat's might be too. Perhaps her own might show up sometime...

"I came by to see how he was settling in- is something the matter?" She added, taking in the way the Ψiioniic was curled up, her features shifting into a slight frown and wings drooping a little behind her. "Is he alright?"

The vaguely familiar voice roused Ψiioniic for the second time that day. This time the interruption was from a far more welcome source than an unknown sea-dweller identical to the Condesce.

"Aradia?" he murmured, looking up from where he was half-burrowed against Signless' chest. "Oh... hey. I-I'm okay." It mostly wasn't a lie... he'd calmed down a lot, especially since Feferi was so nice, and he was feeling a lot better than he had been earlier.

Signless looked up warily at the presence of another unexpected voice, but this time Psiioniic didn't seem frightened. His eyes flicked over her, widened a little at the wings, then checked the symbol on her chest before he smiled. "You know this wriggler, Psi?" he asked.

"Are you sure?"

She stepped in at the recognition regardless, floating her way over without hesitating. She flashed another curious look at the Karkat look-alike, and then held her hand out to him as she neared, smiling gently.

"Oh um- I'm Aradia..! He and I met earlier."

A little embarrassed to be caught snuggling together like a pair of exhausted grubs, Ψiioniic pushed himself up a bit so he could sit a little better. "Yeah, AA'th okay," he assured his friend. "We talked for a while in thith really cool room that looks like you're floating among the stars."

He couldn't quite stop the flash of longing that crossed his face as he mentioned the level. He still missed the stars.

Signless blinked at her flying, amazed by her wings, but held a hand out readily enough. If she had reassured Psiioniic this well, she had to be all right.

"Good to meet you Aradia. I'm the Signless."

"We can go again later, if you'd like?" She offered gently, even as she clasped Signless' hand with her own, eyes widening at the introduction.

...well. That was certainly a surprise. She beamed at him, crossing her legs so she could hover in front of them without just dive-bombing onto the bed like she was sorely tempted to, if only to get a reaction.

"It's very nice to meet you! I'll give this place this much: it certainly is making life here interesting!"

Her hands settled on her ankles and she gave a little bounce of her shoulders, smile turning mischievous.

"Have you met either of the Karkats yet?" It would be such a shame if she'd missed out on that.

"No, though I met thomeone named Sollux who told me about them, and seems to be my Descendant," Ψiioniic admitted. "I really want to meet thith Karkat, though." He flashed a grin at Signless, then turned a shier version of it on Aradia. "We should definitely go again, I'd like that."

"I've met one of them," Signless said wryly. "I haven't found my Descendent yet, but the blue-blood version of me was okay." He glanced at Psiioniic. "Sollux, huh? Don't you mean 'Thollukth'? Or doesn't he have your adorable lisp?"

"Oh, you met Sollux?" Her smile widened, a pleased flush rising to her cheeks. "Isn't he great?" And perhaps she was a little biased, but she could hardly help that. She giggled at Signless though, raising a hand to her mouth and teased-

"It is really cute, isn't it?" But she can't stifle her laughter behind her hand, and beams at Psiionic again. "But great! We can grab some ice cream from the cafeteria and make up constellations, what do you think?"

A pause, and then she cocked her head at Signless.

"Hmm... So you don't consider both of them your descendants, in a way? I'm pretty sure his ancestor was just a blue-blooded version of you- though I could be wrong..."

Aradia seemed fond of Sollux, which made Ψiioniic happy in an obscure way. He wanted his Descendant to be happy, and to have a much better life that he had. It almost made up for everything he'd been through.

"Yeah, 'Thollukth," he agreed, rolling his eyes at Signless. "He hasn't conquered hith lisp as well as I have, yet. It'll come eventually."

"I don't think his ancestor was a mutant-blooded freak who went around getting visions and trying to change the world," Signless said wryly, resting his arm on one bent knee. "Since his ancestor was a blue-blood, he wasn't in danger of getting culled just for existing. He was probably raised by a regular lusus, not a troll. I really doubt his ancestor was much like me. But he's a good kid, so that's fine."

He grinned at Psiioniic. "Maybe you two should go get thome ithe-cream, then," he teased. "Since you can leave the room."

She laughed again, somewhere between surprised and pleased by the familiarity of their banter. They were more like their descendants than they probably realized, and it would be fun to see how they'd react if and when they figured it out.

"You have a point, I guess- though really Karkat is still a lot like our Karkat for the most part. A little... calmer though." At least, from what she'd experienced so far. "You're right though- they're good guys, both of them."

She rached out then, prodding Signless on the shoulder playfully, hoping she wasn't overstepping any boundaries.

"You can come along too if you want! It's really very nice despite the fact that all the stars eventually die out," she offered, leaning forward a bit. "Besides, doesn't staying in these rooms all the time get boring?"

"Yeah, you should come SS, it'th really cool," Ψiioniic agreed, his eyes lighting up. Well, more than they were always lit.

He wanted to show Signless the beauty of space; maybe he could explain a little better to his friend why not everything about being a Helmsman was torture.

Why there was even a part of him that desperately wanted to go back, and it wasn't entirely due to his conditioning telling him that he was away from his post.

Signless didn't mind the prod, and was definitely tempted by the offer. He leaned back a bit, eyeing Psiioniic. It wasn't that he didn't want to come, but he did want to give the former slave the opportunity to go places independently, without feeling like he needed to drag Signless around with him all the time. If he were only asking because he was afraid to go alone, Signless wasn't going to take the offer.

But from the smile, he didn't think that was the situation. He drew a breath and smiled back. "Yeah, let's go. It's boring in here, anyway."

"Yay!"

She gave a little bob of delight in midair, arms thrown into the air as she settled down onto the floor properly and held out a hand to whoever wanted to take it.

"This'll be great! How much ice cream do you think we can carry up there?" A giggle and her nose twitched slightly with her laughter. "Hopefully not more than we can eat before it melts...!"

"I can carry ath much as you want," Ψiioniic pointed out with a smile that almost matched hers, though it was shyer. He let a bit of blue and red electricity crackle from hand to hand, demonstrating what he meant.

"You'd probably benefit from eating everything you can carry, too," Signless grumped, scooting off the bed and standing up. "You're like a fucking twig. And considering how skinny you were before, that's saying something."

"Well then I guess we'll just have to see how much of what we can carry we can eat then, huh?"

She clapped her hands cheerfully and turned to head for the door, keeping her remarks about how much they acted like their descendants to herself.

"Then let's go! I've been meaning to try a few new flavors anyway..!"
