fourth prayer [closed]
Characters: Kyoko Sakura, Naoto Shirogane
Setting: 02-03
Format: Starting in prose, but I'll match.
Summary: So a thief and a detective walk into a bar and everything is horrible.
Warnings: None for now.
The room was in a state of complete disarray by time Kyoko was through with it. The comics and anthologies had been thumbed through before being scattered about on the floor.(Sherlock Holmes? Who even read that?) The formal dress carelessly tossed onto the bed along with the photo album. Even the bed seemed to have been tampered with, the covers falling off the bed which was, strangely enough, at an angle that it hadn't been moments before. The nightstand was likewise slanted, it's drawers pulled out and clearly rummaged through.
As for the trunk, well, of course that hadn't fared any better. Nor had the scarf that was presently hanging off the side of it, a few of it's rows having had unraveled during her careless removal and examination before being dropped before further damage could be done. The trunk itself had been pulled further away to accommodate the red-haired girl that was currently examining it's final contents. Kyoko held the winter clothes in front of her now, examining them. Not the trendiest outfit, but it would certainly fare better than her belly shirt and shorts. It looked like it might be about her size, too, though well.
"Jackpot," she said to herself with a grin on her face. She didn't really want to steal them, but well, there was no way she was just going to sit around and freeze to death. Only an idiot would do that, right? Besides, it was the owner's fault for leaving them lying around like this.

Naoto sighs, moving into her room and beginning to clean up the mess Kyoko made. "If you had asked I'm sure someone would have stepped forward to assist you. This tower is miserable enough on its own, most of us try to help others when we can."
She pushes the dresser back into place before opening one of the drawers and taking out a pair of warm, wool gloves. Despite her anger, she holds them out to the intruder. "Here, you'll want these as well."

"...Tch. People like that don't exist, y'know. Even if somebody's suffering right in front of them, they can just go on saying that it's not their problem."
They'd be more concerned about a single apple than a family starving in the streets. They'd turn their nose up at people more human than they could ever hope to be.
"Even if you're nice to people like that." And now, someone like her. She didn't move from where she stood. "You'll definitely just get hurt."

Naoto's seen far too many people suffer at the hands of the tower's administrators. Too often has she been rendered helpless -- useless -- and unable to help those she cared for when they needed her the most. She was angry, yes, but she would not deny this girl help when it was a problem she could easily fix by offering a pair of gloves.
"Now if you don't mind, I have work to do."
Kyoko definitely did a number on her room, after all.

"Just don't complain when somebody takes advantage of that kindness." She took the gloves quickly, but cautiously, because she was struggling to think that somebody so serious would just be kind to a stranger who'd trashed her room and stolen her clothes. That done, she'll slip a box of pocky into Naoto's hand in what might have been a kind of gratitude. Or perhaps apology. There was no telling with Kyoko. The box itself had been opened previously, but only a couple pieces were missing.
At least it wasn't a nutrition bar.
