Oh Maple.
Characters: Canada and YOU
Setting: The hallways or wherever
Format: I'm starting in action, but I'll follow you!.
Summary: Matt's woken up and is a little distraught so he's wandering the halls.
Warnings: none yet
The waking up process had frightened him, creating a deep unsettling worry in the pit of his stomach that made him want to be sick. But once it had passed and he'd been able to sit up and look around it had only heightened the sense of worry. Finding his glasses on the table near his bed it took him a moment to collect himself and inspect his surroundings.
THe letters had been his first real imperical proof of the sense of dread he had been feeling. And it only grew once he noticed the room he was in to the extent that he felt like crying. But the scratching and growling form the trunk at the end of his bed made him scramble and throw it open. HIs bed blinked owlishly at him and something seemed to make him feel a little better at seeing the items in his trunk.
After he'd changed and checked the other beds in the room, his bear expressed that he was, in fact, starving. Course the fat little bear was always starving, so Canada simply picked him up with a sigh and made his way out of the room and into the hallways.
Now came the real challenge, where was everything and where was he in relation to those things.
"Oh maple, this sucks."

"Oh maple, this sucks."

She poked her head out of the door and blinked.
Was this...
She stepped out, mentally trying to picture him against France and America and anyone else she had a male reference for nations.
"New? You'll be hungry. Ah or Ku--your polar bear will be I bet. Kumarai has me going first thing."
no subject
"Ah, Kumokuro, yeah." he mumbled and pushed his glasses back up on his face. The bear in his arms had other ideas, leaning forward and sniffing at the other bear curiously before asking the age old question.
"Who?"
"Canada" Matt mumbled out of habit and heaved a sigh.
no subject
"...Ah Kumapol, come see. You have a friend."
Yes. Yes make her polar bear deal with this first. She knelt to pick her up and smiled, rather fixed at this point. Awkward awkward.
no subject
His blush was only getting worse with how awkward the moment was.
"Ah, I'm Matthew. It's nice to meet you, even if... I don't know what Kumokiko is doing."
no subject
"Madeline Williams. I believe he was meeting himself...er. Herself...Alternate universes are confusing."
no subject
"You mean, you're me but not.. me?" even to hismelf it didn't make sense, yet the woman ebfore him certainly held as many traits of him as he knew he had she was just...curvier.
The bear seemed to have enough of Matt's awkwardness and jumped out of the nation's arms to go and sniff at Kumarie as a more interesting creature than the two nations.
no subject
"Yes, I'm Canada. I met your America and England...and France. And several others." She found herself trailing off into babbling and caught it before she listed every nation in the tower.
"I'm sorry, it must be hard to believe."
no subject
"It's a bit different I didn't imagine I'd be so um...curvy?" now he sounded like France and he blushed more. He could be really articulate sometimes and it seemed he was failing at that moment. But before he could panic his stomach growled and he looked down.
"Ah, I guess you could explain things while I get something to eat?"
no subject
"A-Ah...yes of course." A call for manners overrode her awkwardness and she made for the staircase, "I'm afraid it's quite a walk. It's down more than a dozen flights."
no subject
"Good thing I hike often, I guess there are a lot of stairs here?"
no subject
"At least a dozen flights. You work off all the food coming back up, I imagine. The kitchen is on the bottom floor." She trotted off down the stairs.
no subject
Matt followed Maddie quietly, he did agree there were a lot of stairs but he assumed it wasn't nearly as bad as if he went hiking in the rockies or up north. "I don't think working off food is an issue for me, America maybe."
no subject
She held Kumaro tighter, burying her face in her fur. She hated remembering that.
no subject
Taking a step toward her he put a hand on her shoulder gently, getting her to stop. "Really, I think we'll go home at some point."
no subject
"Of course. We'll go home." She repeated his words and nodded, "I suppose it's just a matter of having faith until then."
no subject
no subject
"If you'd like to give me one--um that's fine." Really, she was more awkward around her other self than anyone it seemed.
no subject
It wasn't as awkward as he imaged actually.
no subject
"Thank you."

"Oh--um. If the lake on one floor freezes over, do you want to help me teach Taiwan how to play hockey...or ice skate first?"
