Once you party with us

Characters: Dave Strider, the loser Homestucks with birthdays in December, Naminé, and everyone else who's in the Media Room at that time.
Setting: Media Room
Format: Either
Summary: Party in the media room. Look at all these stupid kids who have birthdays in December.
Warnings: Teenagers are dumb. Stupid shenanigans.

It wasn't really a proper party set-up. There were no decorations or anything that would signify it were a party. Dave didn't really have supplies or time to make anything and he wasn't really around to even plan anything in the first place.

Jason didn't really make it any easier by giving them only foodbars and water for this month either.

But he did try. He made those shitty paper ringlets to hang and he taped really crappy drawings of balloons to the walls. An attempt was made and he thinks his balloons are pretty fucking awesome anyways. It was a little sad. The list was a lot shorter than he anticipated. He ignored that nagging thought though. He didn't want to recall that a lot of his friends had left while he was gone.

Yeah, pretending that isn't a thing that happened.

Too busy admiring his really shitty attempt at birthday decorations.

Damn, he even made a cake. Ok. It wasn't really a cake. He mashed nutrition bars into a bowl with water and attempted to bake it. That...that didn't actually really come out like he hoped. Mostly, he put it in too long so the outside was completely burn yet the middle was still a really gross mush. No one was probably going to eat it. But it's the thought that counts...

It's a really gross fucking cake.

Obviously though, he should be in charge of birthdays all the time. "Fuck, I'm amazing at this." No, Dave. This is pretty shitty and you know it. You tried though. You tried.

[[OOC: Feel free to threadjack and mingle!]]

Oh god, you've heard of them before! [Nobody else he's met here has so far. Explaining it over and over is getting old.]

But yes, he's real. Here, feel for yourself. [He holds the Zorua out to her.] And I spent the last two years in a place called Johto, that's how. Apparently the Pokemon world is real and even bigger than the games let on! [He's only ever played blue version, oops...]

Well- I am from Japan...

[She's amused by the reaction though- he's probably had to tell people what they are more than once already.]

I'm afraid I don't know much about the whole thing, really. But... [She reaches a hand out to ruffle Zorua's fur.] They are quite interesting, aren't they?
ghostytrainer: (no i cannot smile doofishly.)

that was supposed to be good, not god. oops i can type reel gud.

Oh you are? Cool!

[He probably should have guessed. Her dress is straight out of the animes.]

But yeah, they really are, aren't they? I only wish I had been allowed to keep all of mine when I was brought here. I really miss the rest of them...
floreatnoctem: (pic#4461683)

that's okay though...!

[personal profile] floreatnoctem 2012-12-11 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Yes- I take it you're not?

[Her dress is indeed very anime, thank you for noticing.]

You had more? How many are here with you?
ghostytrainer: (Your name is JOHN.)

weh weh

[personal profile] ghostytrainer 2012-12-11 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Nope! I am from Washington state. Originally, at least.

[He's been shuffled around a lot...]

I had almost fifty back in Johto. But I only have five here with me now.

Is that near Dave's Texas?

[WTF is U.S. Geography, really?]

That's a fair bit of a loss, all things considered. Though honestly, you should be glad more of them aren't around.

Aha, noooooo not at all. Washington is in the uppermost western corner. Texas is in the southernmost middle part. Dave and I live about two thousand, five hundred miles away from each other.

[He's looked it up before. Incidentally, Rose was about 3000 miles away. Those are both a whole lot of miles and John always hated it. But it's okay now.]

[He quirks a brow at her final statement though.]

Why do you say that?

[personal profile] floreatnoctem 2012-12-12 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
...that's quite some distance. [She knows America is big, but- dang America, you're huge.]

Ah- well... I assume you wouldn't want to expose more of them to the conditions of this place than you had to.
ghostytrainer: (let's go hero mode!)

[personal profile] ghostytrainer 2012-12-12 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[It really is. It's something that John always hated.]

I...well I guess that's one way of looking at it. I don't want anything bad to happen to them, sure. But at the same time, they are all very capable. Plus, technically they are monsters and all used to fighting, so...okay, well I can think of a few that I am glad for their sake they didn't end up here. My Venusaur probably wouldn't be able to deal well with this sort of environment.

[Giant skittish dinosaur...he's not sure what happened with that one.]

I still miss them all though. Hopefully they found their way to my friends and are being taken care of. I would hate to get back home and find any of them missing or in the hands of mean trainers or something.

[personal profile] floreatnoctem 2012-12-13 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess you do have a point- though I presume by what you said about your... Venusaus, was it? That some of them just wouldn't be suited to this place. Rather like people, really.

[She has no idea how big a Venusaur is- she's probably thinking it's the size of a coffee table?

She doesn't tell John that whatever world he came from was probably destroyed- and his pokemon along with it.]

I'm certain they didn't fall into the wrong hands.
ghostytrainer: (really? while wearing galoshes?)

[personal profile] ghostytrainer 2012-12-14 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Venusaur, for a big blue dinosaur, he's kind of a skittish worrier. He's wary of basically everything in existence. But yes, exactly like people! I mean they have feelings and stuff too so...yeah.

[Oh he read the letter. He just doesn't believe it. Because he's John and OPTIMISSSMMMM!!!!]

So I'm guessing that you have been here a while, same as Dave?
floreatnoctem: (pic#4461704)

[personal profile] floreatnoctem 2012-12-17 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
How interesting. Can any of them talk?

[Suuuuper curious. Also baww John, that optimism is cute.]

Yes. It's been... quite some time.
ghostytrainer: (well you see i made myself in a lab.)

[personal profile] ghostytrainer 2012-12-17 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
No. I was working on teaching my Ditto how to, and my Lopunny could write but they were two of the ones that got left behind. All my psychic types could communicate mentally though, if that counts.

[Though it probably won't be long before he starts trying to teach his Zorua to. A talking shapeshifter, the pranking possibilities .]

Oh. I see. I haven't so, I was just curious.
floreatnoctem: (pic#1344574)

[personal profile] floreatnoctem 2012-12-18 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
One of them could write? Well then they certainly are a clever bunch, aren't they?

[It makes her very, very interested what else they could be taught.]

Psychic communication though- that's familiar enough... [She does it all the time with the rest of Strega.] And it's quite alright to ask, it's hardly going to make me angry that you're curious.
ghostytrainer: (that makes me smile!)

[personal profile] ghostytrainer 2012-12-18 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm! Though it admittedly, she couldn't actually write and express her thoughts so much as she knew how to form letters and join them up to create words she had memorized. Stuff like her name, my name, basic greetings, you get the idea.

[A moment of fatherly pride for his baby who was left behind.]

She could draw really well though, way better than me. She just had a natural talent for it, hehe.

[personal profile] floreatnoctem 2012-12-20 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Still, it is rather impressive.

[She's not sure on the learning capacities of Pokemon, but she figures that's pretty great.]

-and it sounds like she was rather talented too.
