2nd pokeball [open + event]
Characters: John Egbert, some ghost pokemon, and YOU!!
Setting: floor 45, floor 40
Format: Action
Summary: John's feeling a little under the weather but he's not going to let that get in the way of exploring and some mild training!
Warnings: None yet
>Floor 45 (early afternoon)
[There are a lot of things that John misses about Johto but one of the things near the top of the list is flying. There's just something about soaring thousands of feet in the air on the back of an Altaria or a Golurk that's really just amazing. And this floor, with its glass walls and high altitude, is about the closest he can get to replicating that.]
[He'll be in here for a few hours, accompanied by his Dusknoir and Litwick. He's not really doing much, just staring out the walls, taking a few pictures and videos with his Pokegear, and occasionally... talking to the dead things that slither around outside. Or trying to, anyway, he's not really sure that they can hear him. Every so often he sneezes, causing the Dusknoir to hand him a tissue, or coughs loudly. John has never had the best of luck with colds, and it seems that the lack of heat in the tower has already taken a toll on him.]
[Or perhaps it's something a little nastier than that...really, who can say?]
>Floor 40 (evening)
[Later on, John can be found a few floors down in the storage room, still accompanied by his Dusknoir and Litwick, the latter of which is proving to be very useful on this dark floor. The trio isn't attempting to store anything, but rather they appear to be hunting Shadow Blobs and Imps in the corners of the room.]
Chandel, night sh-- [A coughing fit prevents him from actually finishing the command. Seems his cold has gotten a little worse already...maybe taking it easy was a good idea after all. Oh well. Luckily, the Litwick seems to have understood what he was getting at.] Y-yeah... [Hack.] Just like that, good job. Just keep at it, you have this. Ughh... [Sniffle.]
[They'll be here until night falls and the stronger monsters come out to play. Unfortunately, Chandel isn't really strong enough to play with the big boys just yet And John really should get to bed so this cold doesn't get any worse than it already is.]

Floor 45!
What if they phase through the window to get you?
no subject
Hehe, well I don't know. But I am fairly sure they can't phase through the glass. They aren't ghosts.
[He knows ghosts. These are not ghosts.]
[He turns around fully, abandoning the creature so that he can give Guile a few scratches behind the ears.]
no subject
[[Yeah don't mind her just checking your forehead for a fever.]]
Sounds like you could use some water.
no subject
True I guess. [He turns his head to look back at the monster on the glass. The thing hasn't moved. Yeah, that's not creepy at all. John, however, gives it a fond little smile.] I dunno though, I kind of like them.
[CLEARLY THIS MEANS THEY WON'T HURT HIM, RIGHT?]
no subject
You would. And you need some medicine.

Are you alright? Please, get back!
[good thing he's too close to them for her to want to risk firing her giant laser of doom, since clearly there is a misunderstanding here]
no subject
[Hello, giant magical staff thing! John throws his arms up in front of him, unsure of what else to do. His Dusknoir, however, further misinterpreting the misinterpretation, moves in front of John, shielding him from the Kazumi's staff. He fixes her with a piercing, single-eyed stare, raising his hands in front of him. You will not hurt his master, whoever you are.]
Elliot! It's oka-- [Achoo!]
no subject
[UH, PEOPLE DIDN'T USUALLY NAME EVIL GHOSTS THAT WERE ABOUT TO EAT THEM, DID THEY?
Now confused, Kazumi stops a few yards away, still clutching her staff but not sure what to do]
Huh?
jsyk, i have been waiting for someone to make this mistake since i intro'd him
It's okay, Elliot! She's not a monster, she won't hurt us! Err... [He looks over at Kazumi. He kind of just said that without actually fully assessing the situation.] ...you aren't and you won't, right?

[His expression deadpans as Chandel sets an imp on fire behind him.]
Training.
no subject
[Bitch, don't deadpan at him unless you're ready to face his deadpan. He deadpans death in face. He gives John a look that frankly puts his brain power in negative numbers. The lack of sunglasses lets John see the expression in full.]
i am so sorry. he's been through 3 eridans and hasn't really liked any of them.
[It's just a conditioned reflex at this point. See Eridan: deadpan, prepare for a conversation that goes everywhere fast. Like this one.]
He's used to it, don't worry.
somehow "oh good" seems like a really bad response to that
and that is Jaderi's life in a nutshell
WOW THAT WAS THE WRONG ICON...

[The voice seems to come from the top of one of the stacks of boxes. Perched precariously at the top is one bratty little girl with dirty hair, idly playing with the licorice strings on her hoodie.]
What'cha dooooin'?
no subject
[His Litwick, on the other hand, remains focused on this one shadow blob she's trying to kill. Must not lose concentration!!!!]
Oh uh...I'm training. Well, okay I'm not actually the one who's training but you get my point.
no subject
[She looks from the Dusknoir to the Litwick, then back to John]
Those sure don't look like devil dogs. What are they? Are they the monsters people were talking about in the cafeteria? Are you a monster trainer?
[Because that? That would be cool. She won't have to learn to fight if she can train monsters to obey her commands!]
Can you teach me to train those things?
no subject
Sorry, [He gestures vaguely at the air around them.] stupid weather and busted heating. Cold season, you know. Anyway, it's kind of hard for me to teach you because of that. If we could catch Pokemon here, I would be glad to but...

Floor 45 This'll be fun. He met a Pokemon trainer in his last game.
He's taken his Arch from his back and is about to ask if John is all right...when he sees it hand him a tissue after a sneeze.
Enoch can't help but approach curiously, now.* Excuse me...what are these creatures with you?
excelleeeeeeeent ouo
Hm? Oh these guys? They're Pokemon! They're monsters but they won't hurt you or anything. So don't worry.
he also saw a John in passing. XD
Ah, I've...met some before. I've never seen ones that look like these, though.
*He leans down to get a better look at Litwick. An animated candle? It's kind of...cute.*
shenanigans ahoy!
[John looks a little surprised at his comment though. He's met a few people here who have heard of pokemon, but not a single one who has ever met one. Wrong conclusions are drawn all around, because now John is wondering if this guy was pulled here from Johto as well...]
Seriously? Living and breathing ones you mean, right? Not just pixels on a game screen?
Yes. Yay for game transplants!
