Setting: Floor 19 (research library)
Format: Either or.
Summary: Ken's cranky and looking for his friend. To yell at him.
Warnings: Consentual blood-sucking most likely.

Okay, so Ken had been in worse situations. He'd been hungry and cold before, but at least he wasn't injured and he wasn't alone. He was more alone now than he was used to, but there was Aya, and if he had chosen who he was stuck with, he probably would've chosen the vampire.

That didn't mean he didn't do things that rubbed Ken's fur wrong, and refusing to feed and take care of himself was first on that list. There was a short list of places he knew Aya would end up--the library topped that list, so Ken made his way there and sniffed him out. He wouldn't be able to sneak up on Aya, even if he did have his face in a book, but he wasn't exactly trying to.

This bastard was just getting in his way. Snarling violently, he reached for him instead, wanting at that blood hiding under his skin. It was just there waiting for him, begging him to take it and drag it from that warm, warm body into his. Aya was so cold currently but that would give him warmth for a time...

The scent of the wolf moving caught his attention and Ken's voice shook his senses. He stopped right before he actually jumped and stared at the brunette in front of him. What was he doing there? Hadn't he been biting him?

All at once, the situation hit him and the glowing vanished in an instant as Aya stumbled back until he landed on his chair. Eyes wide, he covered his mouth in horror as he stared at the two he'd just been about to rip apart to get blood. Oh God, he might have killed them because of the state he'd been in.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Reno's drawl disappeared almost instantly, and his voice was almost deadly calm, even as his rage rose. He had Shion behind him now, his own body between him and Aya.

His eyes flicked over to Ken. "You all right?"

Shion felt bad that Reno had once again had to save him and stayed behind him trying to remember how not to freak out. But he peaked around once Aya stopped attacking and saw him stumble back. "I don't think he knew what he was doing..." He said quietly to Reno his eyes flickering over to Ken concerned for his roommate.

Didn't know what he was doing? Well yeah, when he attacked Shion, definitely. That's what you got when interrupting a feeding vampire.

"Perfectly fine, thanks." The blood was drying on his neck, no more was coming out. Ugh, he hated that tacky feeling. And the smell had to be driving Aya up the wall. He knew they were just concerned, which was touching, but yeah--it wasn't like Aya'd attacked him.

"I realize that looked really bad to walk in on, but I wasn't in any danger."

The scent of Ken's blood wasn't helping this and he kept his hand over his mouth as a reminder that he needed to steady himself. He wasn't that monster, the thing that tore apart the innocent just to feed on them. He'd sworn that he would never be that way. Closing his eyes a moment, he swallowed the blood still in his mouth, running his tongue over his teeth. Aya shivered a little while he took deep breaths. Honestly, he didn't even need the air but breathing was a habit he couldn't break. It made him feel more human.

Opening his eyes again, he lowered his hand and looked down at it. He'd almost ripped them apart with this very hand.

"I'm sorry," he said quietly, his voice almost inaudible. "I'm so sorry..."

Eyes narrowed at Aya, still unsure if he presented a danger. Ken seemed to be all right, Aya wasn't attacking Shion anymore, but he had his hand on the handle of his EMR, just in case. "What," he said, in his most professional voice, "just happened?"

Shion, sensing that it was safer now stepped out from behind Reno and stood silently at his side, since the only question he had Reno had just asked. He was confused, how was Ken not in any danger?

Ken huffed, running a hand through his hair and glancing at Aya. He probably wasn't going to be too happy with explaining things, but this wasn't something that they could really gloss over. Not with the blood on Aya's face and Ken's neck, and the fact that they'd nearly had a full-out fight right there. The least he could do was make sure it was clear what both of them were, so both he and Aya were outed. (Then again, that wasn't entirely fair either, since Ken didn't really give a shit what people knew about him in that regard. Aya was definitely a lot touchier about his vampirism than Ken was about his lycanthropy.)

"He hasn't had any blood since we got here. I let him take it from me when we're at home sometimes, since a) he won't hurt me and b) even if he did lose control I'm a lot tougher than I look and a vampire bite won't do much of anything to me but make me lightheaded and tired for a while. I'm already a werewolf and all, kinda can't be both."

Aya winced at having his nature outed like this but even he knew there wasn't a choice in the matter. After a display like that, they had the right to know what was going on. So, he just pushed his fingers through his hair and made sure he was in control before looking over at the two people he'd just attacked. Thank God Ken had been there to stop him from following through with it.

"I haven't gone that long between feeds in quite awhile. Ken can smell when I haven't been feeding and makes sure I stop before I starve myself completely." Honestly he could have been a stronger vampire already but he refused to nurture his nature enough to actually find out what he was capable of. He'd never wanted to be a monster like this.

The irritation on Reno's face grew the more these guys explained it. The vampires on Gaia weren't quite the same as Earth vampires, but he had been in the Tower long enough to accept this as truth, for now. "'Feed'? You're damned lucky it was us that walked in on you doing something stupid and dangerous in one of the most used spots in the Tower. It could have been one of the little kids that walked in! Shion and I have training to deal with situations like this and it still almost got ugly." He let out a heavy breath, shifting his weight and putting a hand on one of his hips. "But ARE YOU A FUCKING MORON?! The infirmary keeps blood down there for medical procedures!"

Shion on the other hand is confused, he might have been out of his world for a while but he had not come across any vampires or werewolves in the tower and so has no idea what they are...

"They do." He agreed with Reno, he had pieced together that vampires needed blood. That much was obvious.

He glanced warily at Reno, since he seemed annoyed and Shion didn't want him getting into a fight.

Ken blinked. He hadn't spent a lot of time in the infirmary--there were the collar checks, which he put off as long as possible and was gone the second he could get away. He didn't like settings like that, the smells and sounds were overwhelming and generally bad. Aya would hate it too.

"Well shit, that would be a lot easier." And no excuses now. Or at least none that Ken would listen to.

Aya winced at the yelling, his hearing a little more sensitive right now since his senses were on full alert. His body was craving blood and the smell of it was so strong in the air still. On top of that, he could hear the hearts beating around him and it was through sheer force of will that he was ignoring all that.

"If I'd known about that, I would have lingered in there a little longer to get some." Maybe. He really hated drinking blood so it was hard to tell.

Reno wasn't convinced, not totally. He folded his arms and continued with his narrow eyed glaring. "I'll get some for you if it'll avoid another guy walking in on that. Hell, I might start stocking it in the bar if the infirmary drones will let me."

Now that things were a bit more calm, his pulse started settling down, and a strange thought occurred to him that he had... almost sounded like Veld. "Ya okay with that?"

"You don't have to ask the drones." Shion is still confused but it's clear no one is going to explain so he's just processing the information he has already and going with it. Not the best way to go about things but sometimes you can't have all the facts.

"I can get it, they are used to me borrowing things." He hadn't actually taken any blood for their clinic yet, if only because he couldn't trust Hojo not to tamper with it.

"Pretty sure one of us can manage it," Ken said, staring at Aya. The implication here is that if he doesn't, Ken will. No excuses. But he wasn't going to bring up Aya's conflicted nature in front of others, that was going a bit too far.

Or they could just find a quieter corner, but it wasn't like they were all trapped here or anything, Ken wasn't sure a quiet corner existed in the whole damn tower. Not that it was probably a good idea to try again, he was rather dizzier than normal even after such a short feed--it seemed Aya was right, Ken wasn't in a condition to go about these things the way they normally did. Then again, that could've just been the moon. He always felt horrible when it was so close to new.

"Aya?" Your input?

The willingness to do something like this was actually a little startling. For a little bit, Aya really had nothing to say, too busy staring at the two he'd just met. Just what kind of meeting was this anyway? People didn't just offer this kind of thing after what these two had just witnessed, of that he was certain.

Letting out a sigh, he sat back in the chair and gave a quick glance to Ken before frowning at him. "Ken, sit down before I knock you down."

That done, he bowed his head to the other two. "Thank you for your offers. Anything like that would be appreciated though I know of a wolf who will be making sure I don't starve myself anymore. He's very persistent about things like this even when he happens to be starving himself too."

Oh, that was just great. Reno rubbed his forehead, sensing a headache about to come on and it probably had a great deal to do with these two.

"Yeah, that's the thing. Non humans starving themselves if they got that non-food thing going on? Not too good for the rest of us. If it keeps you from going berserk again like that, I'll do whatever the hell you guys need."

Wolf... that's right. He did a double take.

"Hey, are you the reason why I got dog hair all over my bed?"

Shion blinked as well but for completely different reasons that Reno. "You're starving yourself? What do you need?" What did wolves even eat? Meat... not nutrient bars that was for sure.

He didn't know anything about this but was already making plans to make his roommate and his friend got what they needed.

Ken rolled his eyes at Aya and crossed his arms. "You. Stop trying to change the subject." There was obviously more he wanted to say, but he held off for now. Then, sighing, he turned to Shion.

"It's not like I mean to, I just can't eat those bars of whatever-they-are. And I'm used to it, enough that I can handle myself. I'm not going to attack anyone." He'd lived wild for 23 years, and for most of that time hadn't exactly been high up on the pack totem pole. He could--and had--gone for nearly a month without eating before. It wasn't pleasant, but he could do it.

"And yeah, that's probably me. Sorry." He didn't look particularly sorry, just amused.

"You are getting dog hair on your roommate's bed?" Aya gave Ken a look before he looked over at Shion. The boy was taking this well so that was a good sign at least. Best to answer that question.

"He requires meat while I require blood. Currently it's a little hard for him to get what he requires. While he can go for long periods of time without food, it's not favorable for him to be letting me feed off him after he hasn't had anything to eat."

Aya sighed and let out a small smile. "I'm sorry to have gotten you both involved in this but I thank you for understanding."

Stifling a few choice words, Reno just shook his head instead. "You two are a pair, aren't ya."

If it was to keep the peace in the Tower, and prevent more blood starved or meat starved incidents, he was all for it. Lessons in Tower life.

"All right, all right. I go huntin' down on the forest floors sometimes. I'll see what I can bring back up."

That was an idea. If he was going to teach fighting lessons again when the weather cleared...

"Well that solves that mystery." Shion looked pointedly at Reno. "We'll help you Ken, don't worry. These aren't things you have to do alone."

Especially since their way of dealing with things alone definitely did not seem safe...

At least it wasn't spring, once he blows coat your room will be absolutely covered in fluff.

Ken rolled his eyes again and gently whacked Aya in the back of the head. Well, gently for him, anyway. "I know my limits, thanks."

But he did appreciate the offer, and lets it known with a sheepish grin. "Thanks. I'm still not entirely used to the whole two legs thing, and the only floor with decent forest in here forces me back to human form. Makes it kinda hard for me."

Aya blinked at the mention of him being in a pair with Ken. Whatever that was supposed to mean. Shifting his head to the side, he let the swat graze his hair without letting it do much else.

Standing, he looked over at Reno and Shion and bowed to them. He was still so very Japanese.

"I apologize for what you had to see and for being so far gone that I attempted to attack you. Both were wrong of me."
