Stairs and exploring and capes, oh my!

Setting: Floor 15, Floor 08 and Floor 21
Format: Any! I'll follow what you do~
Summary: Following Tohko's success at making Vanellope eat her oatmeal, she offers to make her a cape and the two of them go exploring. After that, Vanellope takes off on her own and is, well, herself.
Warnings: Wreck-It Ralph spoilers by virtue of Vanellope being herself, general childishness that may grate on one's nerves

Floor 15 - Vanellope and Tohko.
[Vanellope had been chattering Tohko's ear off the whole way there - every floor they passed through prompted more and more questions - What's that? and Can I go over there? and How long has this been here? and so on. When they're just one floor away, she grins impishly and darts on ahead of her.]

Race you to the workshop!

Floor 08.
[Vanellope's explorations have landed her smack-dab into a maze, and not realizing that the safest way through is to keep one hand on the wall, she's already taken a few turns. She's starting to feel a little turned-around and mixed-up, but she figures with enough time she should be able to figure this one out.]

Okay, so I just took a left, which means now I want to take a right...

Floor 21.
[She has quite literally had enough of stairs. The spiral staircase makes her dizzy and her feet are starting to hurt - she's used to driving, not walking. She'd made it down to the first floor from the maze and had immediately taken the elevator up - whatever, she'll just explore one of those floors. When she steps out of it on the twenty-first floor, her eyes light up.

The mouthwatering smells of food that is not oatmeal or nutrition bars wafts towards her, and a small little smile works its way onto her face. Now this is more like it.

She wanders into the restaurant.

Moments later, she makes her way back to the elevator and plops down, pouting.]

What is this, some kind of fetch quest?!

[Why yes, that's exactly what it is, Vanellope.]

[Tohko chuckled.]

Sure, you can hug and pet them! They're down on the tenth floor, so they're not too far away.

How do you remember what's on every floor? It seems like a lot.

[tohko_amano]

It is hard to keep track of it all sometimes..but I've been here for two months. If I can keep all sorts of books and other information in my head, I can remember what's on the majority of the floors!

Ohhh...

[Yeah, that's still impressive. Vanellope doesn't think she'd be able to remember what's on each floor even after two months.]

What floor's your favorite?

The third floor! There are lots of interesting and delicious books there! Plus, quite a few interesting people wander in, and a few others hide away in the corners and work there. It's lots of fun there.

That's the library, right? Is it true you have to be quiet when you're in there?

[Because Vanellope's not really... good at that...]

[Tohko nodded.]

Yup! And while it would be nice if you weren't too noisy, we're pretty lax when it comes to noise rules. Just don't bother other people with your noise, and you should be fine.

[Aww man. Vanellope droops a little.]

Ohhhh, okay. I get it.

[tohko_amano]

[Tohko sighed and patted Vanellope's head.]

Don't worry. I'm one of the librarians, so if anyone scolds you, I'll make sure you'll be alright. Besides, I doubt anyone will. If we can deal with Alexander the Great laughing and being friendly, then we can deal with you too, alright?

[She shoots Tohko a mischievous little grin.]

Don't worry! I'm slow myself, so you shan't be ignored!

[Tohko returned the smile and nodded.]

Right! So don't worry-you'll be okay.

[After a couple of moments, Vanellope tilted her head to the side and looked up at her.]

So if you're a librarian, are you going to try and read every book in the library someday?

[Now it was Tohko's turn to sport a mischievous smile.]

Vanellope, I probably already have read almost every single book on the third-floor library.

Whoa! Really?! Every single one?!

[tohko_amano]

Almost every single one! I am a book girl for a reason, you know!

That's AMAZING! I don't know anyone else who can read that much!!

[tohko_amano]

Oh, there's probably one or two people in the Tower who have read more than me. However, I am the book girl, so I've read a lot of books in my life!

Were you a book girl before you read all those books or are you a book girl BECAUSE you read all those books?

[tohko_amano]

I'm a book girl because my knowledge and love for books is greater than anyone else's in my universe!

[..And because of her braids and her taste buds. But Tohko wasn't going to mention that.]

How much greater, exactly?

[tohko_amano]

Much greater! After all, I haven't heard of anyone else in my universe managing to solve a murder-mystery through wits, luck, and love of books or helping a suicidal girl with nothing but books and words!

You did all that?!

What else can you do?!

[tohko_amano]

Yup! A friend of mine back home and I did all that. As for what else I can do-I can help people with their problems, no matter what they are, and use my knowledge of books to help me and other people out in almost every situation!

WOW! So you think you know enough from books to do something about the yucky food in this tower?!
