[OPEN] standing dumb in the light

WHERE: Dormitory levels
WHAT: Kanaya wakes up, she is not at all fond of her circumstances. And so the Tower receives a glowing alien girl conspicuously and shiveringly sneaking through the hallway.
HOW: Action
[ thirty seconds of sleep paralysis is a hell of an introduction to a new setting. by the time it's worn off, kanaya has found plenty of time to begin panicking. it doesn't look like any memory she's ever had, so the most reasonable explanation is that it must be someone else's. it's a dream bubble, right? it has to be. that doesn't explain the collar. something is wrong here. who put her in this ugly jumpsuit? who would even make such an ugly outfit?
once she's on her feet, she spares a moment to wonder if she should make the bed before deciding that there are bigger problems at hand, and ends up missing her introduction letters in the process. she elects to sneak out into the hallway instead, only to find it's cold. unreasonably cold, especially in this miserable outfit. her best hope is to keep moving, see if the bubble doesn't change if she does, stopping at each corner to peek around it. you never know what you might encounter in these things. ]

Mmmm, yes the location. You are in the tower called animus. There are others of our species here, some old and of my own age. Individually we are prisoners, but together we can make the best of a horrid situation and find a new means to free ourselves from this setting. Or so is the plan for some of us.
[The jumpsuit is embarrassing, but no worries he is not one to judge based on articles of clothing.]

Aside from the current climate, I have yet to witness the true extent of that horridness. But I suppose I'm pleased to meet you, Signless. My own name is Kanaya Maryam.
What means to freedom have you adopted?

A mean of freedom by a simple choice. A war of willpower to move on from this tower. My goal is to try and find an exit or give the task to others more so. I do not like to get my hands dirty. I do hope to help others when I can and in doing so, when the opportunity of freedom presents itself. Then and only then may we leave and start life a new. So many different cultures and habitants from ended universes reside here, this is why I believe if successful we can create a harmonious universe of our own. A new home for us.

[ she narrows her eyes, trying to figure out what he's even on about. creating universes never really ended well for her. the rest of it comes off a little weird as well to her, given how resigned she's always been to get her hands dirty. ] It almost sounds as though you plan to sit quietly and wait for someone else to provide your deliverance.
