Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired

Characters: Allelujah Haptism and you!
Setting: The stairs. Mostly in the upper levels near the dorms.
Format: Either's fine.
Summary: Allelujah's sick. He's being a stubborn ass about it and trying to go about his business anyway.
Warnings: Possible swearing, also good chance of body fluids.


It's been a long time since Allelujah's been even remotely sick from something other than utter disgust at his or someone else's actions. He just doesn't get sick, which is why he's ignored his symptoms for a few days.

His entire body feels heavy, but he has to keep working out, which is why he heads down the stairs, intending to go to the gym. His body has other plans, however, which is why when he starts to step down the stairs his legs just simply give up. He drops to the ground, shivering.

"What… what's going on?…"

"Well, so are you," she answers. "What were you trying to do?"

[egotrigger]

"Trying to get down to the gym..."

And that's working out so well.

[heavenscorpse]

"I don't think you should do that, if going down the stairs was too hard for you - working out wouldn't be any easier." She shook her head firmly. "Go back to bed."

[egotrigger]

"I'll be fine..." He struggles to get up, and finds he can't. ... Maybe he really is sick. "It's just..."

... But no, there's no other explanation for it.

[heavenscorpse]

"I'll help you walk. Okay? If I can't carry you, then just lean on me a little." She slides her shoulder under his arm. "Please."

[egotrigger]

He leans against her, trying to keep most of his weight off of her. His legs shake a little from the strain.

[heavenscorpse]

"It's not that far. Don't worry." She keeps talking to him, trying to keep his spirits up.

[egotrigger]

"Haa... I know. I just... don't understand why I feel like this... I'm not supposed to get sick..."

It just doesn't seem like it's something that should be possible.

[heavenscorpse]

"The important thing isn't why you're sick, it's that you deal with it responsibly and not hurt yourself more," V/V chides gently.

[egotrigger]

He just goes quiet and focuses his attention on trying to keep from falling. He's not sure what to say at this point.

[heavenscorpse]

Not falling and walking upstairs is important to V/V too. She doesn't have anything to say if he doesn't.

[egotrigger]

"I don't... like staying in bed..." Being inactive for so long irritates him a bit. It makes him feel useless.

[heavenscorpse]

"But if you don't stay in bed, you'll feel like this even longer."

That is how sickness works.

[egotrigger]

"I know... I just hate being inactive." One of his legs decides now is a good time to give out, and he stumbles, falling and hitting his knees.

"Shit..."

[heavenscorpse]

"Are you okay?!" V/V kneels next to him. "It'll be all right..."

[egotrigger]

"I'll... I'll be fine. It just stings..." Now he has to get up again, though...

[heavenscorpse]

"I bet you've had worse. You seem like a really strong person, this is nothing." Encouragement?

[egotrigger]

"I... I have..." And he'd gotten through it. He can get through this. He struggles to his feet, shaking.

[heavenscorpse]

"That's good. Come on, with me." She'll continue to help him along if it takes all day.

[egotrigger]

He moves one step at a time, shaky and uncertain, but he's making progress.

[heavenscorpse]

"You're doing really well!"

Totally patient.

[egotrigger]

"Thank you..." They're almost to the dorms... thank goodness.

[heavenscorpse]

"Don't worry about it. Friends help each other." She smiles at him brightly.

[egotrigger]

"Friends, huh?" He chuckles a little at the thought.

[heavenscorpse]

"I'm not wrong, am I?" She thought they were friends.
