Floor 39~
Characters: Shion Uzuki and anyone who wants to brave the gym
Setting: Floor 39/Gymnasium
Format: Starting in prose, but I'll match
Summary: Shion is on a magical restaurant quest
Warnings: Physical violence!
When she had awoken that morning, she knew immediately that she was coming down with something. She just didn't feel right. Thinking it might be a cold, she had gone to the restaurant. No matter how many times she had insisted it was untrue in the past, she knew Jin had always been right. Proper nutrition is key to staying healthy. So one little trip to keep her immune system up wouldn't hurt, right?
Unfortunately though, by the time she had chosen something, all she could stomach was orange juice. It wasn't all bad though, a little vitamin C would still help... Probably. The only problem was that task. She had been sent to find a specific weight from the gym. One that had been painted blue.
It was easy enough to find, it was the only blue dumbbell on the rack. And she was happy to see that it was also one of the smallest. Though, upon picking it up, she realized it weighed a lot more than it appeared to. Probably 30 pounds, or close to it. Not that she wasn't in shape... But she was also feeling fatigued. Not to mention nauseated and cold. So on she went, struggling and straining to carry the weight back to the stairs, stopping every few moments to lower it to the floor and catch her breath.

While he was skilled at restraining the worst of his violent tendencies, he had no intention of holding back if someone else was clearly willing to kill him to win the squabble.

chaos stood there, eyeing and talking to the both of them. If either of them threw an attack at the other, he was prepared to either block it with his powers or with his own body.

"Well, what I think doesn't really matter, does it? Since it seems obvious whose side you're on, chaos."
Really, everything was starting to feel like it had before. Everyone had promised to be there for her. But where were they all now?
She couldn't face being blamed anymore. So she turned, and as fast was possible in her state, she started down the stairs.

"I see hard headedness really is an Uzuki trait..."

So, as Shion ran off, chaos used his power. His hands began to glow, and two ice sheets were formed-one blocking Shion from ascending and one blocking her from descending to another floor. The sheets could have easily been broken apart with a punch or some fire, but chaos thought Shion couldn't do that in her state.
He hated to do it, but they had to get this sorted out now. As his hands stopped glowing, he sighed and turned to Marglis.
"Perhaps..however, I am more than surprised that she would accuse me of being a foe. I am not asking you both to be friends..but I can breath easily if you both apologize to each other and, even though Shion may not understand why she should, if you both promise to merely bite your thumbs at one another, it would help you both avoid situations like this." chaos sighed.

She might not have agreed, but Margulis was right. Regardless of her physical condition, she was ready to at least try punching through the ice. She really wanted to get as far away as she possibly could from anyone who knew her.

He himself was aware that he had lost his temper and responded more aggressively than he really should have. But to his mind, she had started it with her accusations and then continued to escalate when he was using minimal force. He wouldn't be admitting his mistake until she owned up to hers.

The problem was that not only was Shion a bit stubborn, but Margulis was a bit hardheaded as well. Not that chaos could really fault him in this case.
He then called out to Shion, who was still standing on the steps, if his sense was correct. "Shion, please stop. I doubt that you will be able to break through that ice. It would be better for everyone here if you calmed down and came over here."

He turned, intending to go back to what he'd been doing until Shion got tired of pounding uselessly against a wall of ice.
no subject
"Shion. You are in no condition to beat through the ice. Please, stop."

"chaos..."
She really was sorry. Not for the situation with Margulis, but for blowing up at chaos. She really did know better, she just felt so alone lately. It was hard not to fall into those old feelings of mistrust.
no subject
"Yes?"
He was going to let her do the talking for a little bit. If she wouldn't answer questions, maybe he could resolve the situation by hearing her speak.

But on the other hand, it was so hard to trust people here. It seemed like everything was out to get them. And if she let people in, she was just inviting more pain. Making it easier for them to hurt her.
She sighed.
"I don't know what to do. Or who to believe..."
no subject
"I admit, this place is strange and rather harsh. However..you can try to help people and get along with people who are willing to be your friends and allies. As for who to believe..believe yourself and believe your friends. Believe the evidence. There is nothing that shows that this Margulis is the same one from our universe. Snapping at people and digging holes will not help anyone. I do not mind if you don't become friends with him. However..at least realize that he is different. I do not mind if you throw away your friendship with me. But..before you do, remember everything we have gone through and consider: would I lie to you? Would I betray you?"
no subject
"No, I know that you wouldn't chaos... It's just..."
She took a deep breath and clenched her fists.
"I thought I understood everything. I thought I knew where I stood. Now it's like I'm back at the beginning. I don't understand anything about this place, or why things are the way they are.
It's more than just whether or not Margulis is part of U-TIC..."
She shook her head. "I just wanted him to leave me alone."
no subject
chaos sighed. "Why? If I understand correctly, he was just trying to help you move that blue dumbbell. This Margulis, despite his appearance, is not a cruel man, not an uncaring one. He merely wanted to help, in his own way."
no subject
He could be the nicest man in the world, and that wouldn't stop the emotions that bubbled to the surface whenever she saw his face. She might be willing to accept that he was different than the Margulis she knew, but that didn't mean she wanted to be around him.

Sighing, chaos quickly moved up down the stairs, keeping his senses focused on both Shion and Margulis. Of course, he would try to prevent any fights from happening..but he couldn't promise he would succeed.
