Axel's got a new pet! (backdated)

Summary: Axel's got himself his first regain... and ends up lighting up like a kid at Christmas.
Warnings: Nothing at the moment!


So it's still cold and this hasn't made things any better for his powers, which is why Axel has resorted to staying bundled up and stationary in his room for as long as he can. Well, unless he has to eat or something. And he can't expect himself to not pay Xion some attention, either, especially after such a nasty sickness spell.

Thankfully during his alone time he isn't really alone at all. Instead, courtesy of the tower, Axel's regained a little buddy from home to keep him company. It's a little smaller than the Assassins back home, at least coming up to the bottom of his knees when it stands now, and despite its rather alarming appearance the way it floats and swirls alongside Axel with its wing-like arms fluttering at its sides may be... charming for some.

If you'd like to say hello, you can find the two of them in any of the mentioned locations. The Assassin will probably be reaching the higher bookshelves for Axel to pick out books in the library he can't reach. On the fourth floor it will be staring curiously out at the fog and trying to even go outside only to bump into the glass. And finally on the first floor, well, that's where you might catch Axel tossing bits of cereal or something at the Assassin for it to swoop up and nom with interesting aerial displays.

Ok, so it's not a puppy, but it's damn well awesome.

It eyed her from above for a little while longer then moved to go behind her to examine from there. Quite a nosy little thing, wasn't it?

"Did you get anything back too?"

However, since Tohko turned with it to look at it, it didn't look at her back for very long. However, she did try to twist her head at Axel while she spoke.

"I did..I got back my old book club mailbox. I hope everyone back home will be fine without it for awhile.."

..So many memories were attached to that mailbox..

Eventually the Assassin followed to float around her again to try and get a better look from a different angle. At least it wasn't doing much more than staring.

"Mailbox? What're you gonna do with that?"

As the Assassin floated around, Tohko turned back towards Axel to properly look at him while she talked. The creature just seemed to be curious, that's all, and it was rude not to look at someone while you spoke to them.

"I'll have to use it in the small group Rei and I have set up. Only..this time, I have to try harder and really think before I do things. The last time someone used our mailbox, I screwed up, and while everything turned out alright in the end, a friend of mine almost died. I have to be more careful this time."

"Someone almost died because of a mailbox?" What kind of mailboxes have you been using, girl? The Assassin lingers around for a moment before he floats away and returns to Axel's side first to briefly brush over his shoulder and then remain otherwise stationary.

"Well..the starting point was the mailbox. You see..the mailbox was being used to find people who needed relationship advice and help, and when our first client came, I forced a friend of mine to write the letters. But..that just got us caught up in a murder-mystery, and while we were able to solve it and help everyone, my friend almost died when someone lost it. It was my fault..I shouldn't have forced him to write the letters.."

Tohko sighed. There was more to it than that, but she didn't want to reveal all of it when she didn't have to. Tohko nodded and smiled at the Assassin as it flew by.
