All aboard the intro train
Characters: Dualscar and you!
Setting: Starting with Floor 4, Floor 7 anything from that point is free game since he's wandering.
Format: Either is fine with me.
Summary: Dualscar handles waking up here and is entirely displeased with doing so.
Warnings: Nothing yet but violence will probably happen.
[04]
It's no surprise that Dualscar is in a bad (terrible, horrible) mood as he paces the halls of the tower. He'd woken up in a strange place and been given strange letters that he questions the validity of, just a normal day for anyone who has been in the tower long enough. There are few people who would enjoy a situation like this, but the scowl on Dualscar's face is particularly venomous. As if he's daring anyone around him to look him in the eye.
There's no way he'd wander about in the hideous clothing he'd been provided with, so it's fortunate he'd been quick to find his trunk. Now that he's dressed in a more respectable manner with his gun slung over his shoulder, he's ready to get to the bottom of this. Remember the look he's giving? Daring you to look him in the eye? Well, if you happen to do so he will be more than happy to interrogate you for answers.

Now tired of wandering and tired of harassing people (by some miracle) Dualscar has managed to find himself on floor seven. The pool looks appealing right now, but he isn't about to dive in with no good reason. He doesn't trust it. Why should he trust it?
Instead, he's choosing to circle it, scowling at his own reflection as he does.

Chidori doesn't normally mince words, and when she does, it's usually for matters more delicate than this- which means it probably involves a child, somehow.
"The tower has a tendency to bring in different versions of the same person, but... you feel the same as the last version of you did. So I presume this is one of those instances in which someone has no memory of having been in the tower before."
She hasn't stopped walking as she speaks, but she does when she's within grabbing reach- though he won't like it if he grabs her with any intent of trying to do her any harm.
"But I've forgotten my manners," the words are said with the barest hint of amusement, and her hands sweep her skirts out in a slight, almost teasing curtsy. "Chidori Yoshino, pleased to make your acquaintance once more."

"So, you mean to imply that I've been here before but that I am unaware of it? Are you aware of how highly unlikely that is?"
He asks, making note of the distance she keeps. Of course, everything that has happened so far could be considered unlikely but Dualscar isn't one to play devil's advocate unless it directly benefits him.
"I assume there's no sense in introducin' myself if you are already informed."

Explaining the mechanics of the tower wasn't something she was very good at, but she'd at least make the effort.
"Sometimes the iterations of people it brings are from worlds that are very nearly identical save for minute differences. Sometimes, the worlds are, frankly, too different to reconcile. I believe that you may be from an iteration more like the former, in regards to the version of yourself that was previously here."
The distance is closed a little as she explains, her fingers tugging idly at her dress, as if attempting to straighten in out. She looks pristine as ever though, so it can only be assumed that the motions are, in fact, nervous ones.
"No need at all, Orphaner." She inclines her head to one side, curious. "Might I ask a question?"

Right now, Dualscar isn't properly absorbing information. He's sort of just parroting everything back at everyone in disbelief and irritation, because that's how all mature adults handle confusing situations.
"I hope you realise how painfully confusin' this is." He pinches the bridge of his nose. "How would one be able to tell the difference between two different iterations? How well did you know..." He trails off, searching for the right word. "..Me?"
He seems to settle a little as he realises she's not entirely full of shit. She can't be, right? She seems to think highly of him. Or she is at least the kind of polite he expects from aliens. "You may, but I reserve the right to ignore it if I see fit."

Chidori doesn't mind- she's dealt with enough newcomers to the tower to know that not everyone handles it as well as some others do. She Shrugs a little at his mounting confusion though, honestly, she's not the best one to explain the science of how the whole place presumably works, but she does what she can.
"In some universes, certain types of people are possessed of certain abilities. One of mine is the ability to scan as well as shield the energy patterns of individual beings."
Again that odd not-quite shrug, as if it's not a big deal- and to her, it isn't. Chidori takes the answer to her question about questions in stride, resisting a small smirk, and inclines her head.
"Of course. My question is, I think, fairly simple- from which point in your life do you come from? I cannot say I know entirely too much of it, but it would help to know what I should and should not mention."
no subject
He's curt about it, because there's nothing more he can say about it. He doesn't like being uninformed and it frustrates him endlessly that he really can't formulate an educated response. He feels stupid and it sickens him.
"I imagine that would be useful in a place such as this." Perhaps she isn't as weak as he'd first assumed. He idly thinks that an alliance with her could be of use, but he pushes the thought back straight away. He doesn't need her help, he doesn't need anyone's help.
He narrows his eyes as she asks the question. He vaguely remembers what he was doing before he woke up, but he's not sure if he wants to share that information. It personal and honestly, thinking about it stings a little.
"Are you aware of the point in which my previous iteration had arrived from?" He snorts, rolling his eyes. "Don't keep things from me. If you know somethin' you should share it."
