Summary: Orihime arrives! And does odd things.

[Cafeteria]
There was a teenaged girl seated at one of the tables. She had been informed that oatmeal had to be her first meal, and she wasn't terribly excited about that idea. Until she remembered something she had found in her trunk! She had raced back to the dorms, and later returned with a large bottle of honey barbecue sauce. Surely, it would make a sad and plain meal into one that was worthy of discerning taste buds (or really messed up ones such as Orihime's). So there she was, making her bowl of oatmeal into a orange-ish red mess, squirting oddly large amounts of sauce into it.

[A computer terminal!]
Orihime knew of the internet. She had even watched Tatsuki use it once or twice! She knew there were chatrooms and mail... and ways to find people. So obviously, it was the perfect solution to getting in touch with someone outside of the tower, right? She would just sit down and figure it out!

But that may have been easier said than done. It was a little overwhelming once she actually got down to it... And the first button she pressed turned the entire screen blue.

"Ah... No! That's not the internet!"

Panicking slightly, she pressed a few more buttons, causing the terminal to only beep lamely back at her with each keystroke.

[She laughed a little.]

So everyone here can talk to each other this way?

Yes. I really like sitting here sometimes and waiting for new messages from people.. It's nice.

[ She glances back at the other girl. ]

Do you like talking to people?

That does sound nice!

Yeah! I think I like talking face to face more, but this seems fun too. You can get to know a lot of people very quickly by reading their messages!

Exactly.. it's really easy to meet people like that. [ Much easier than she's had it back home, either way. ] And there's a lot of people who don't mind talking walking around usually too. .. Ah. I've heard though that apparently people don't like it as much when you eavesdrop on them..

Oh yeah, that's impolite!

[She nodded her head sagely]

Ah but, I'm glad to hear that there are so many nice people to meet here! Oh uh... What's your name?

It's Urotsuki. [ a small nod - as if it's a mini version of a bow. ]

And yours..?

Urotsuki-san, it's good to meet you!

[The little bow was cheerfully returned.]

I'm Inoue Orihime!

Inoue Orihime.. [ She repeats it to herself, humming after it as if she's thinking about something. ]

Then.. what would be okay to call you? I wouldn't want to be impolite.

Orihime is okay if you want!

[Because really, she felt they were already on pretty good terms.]

Orihime.. ah, I've got it. [ Despite the blankness, it's almost as if there's something happy about her. Just slightly, just enough for the corner of her mouth to faintly tug up. ]

I'm glad to make another friend in this place. I've never had this many before..

[Orihime was still smiling, only a little sadly. She had quite a few friends back home, but she'd felt lonely pretty often despite that.]

It is nice! I bet all of us will be friends as long as we can.

Of course. Everyone can stay friends as long as they don't go home. ... Ah, but then again, I guess there's no 'home' either way.. they said everything is destroyed, right?

So it's better to just stay here together as friends..

You really think it's true that our homes are gone?

I thought they wouldn't lie about something like that, but.. I talked to someone here and they said those people were probably lying about it. I don't know what to think anymore, but why else would we be kept here if they weren't gone..? [ she's too naive, really. ]

Ah, maybe they're really lonely! They don't want us to try to leave because they don't want to be alone!

[Same here...]

... Really? [ blink. ] Do you think they just wanted to make friends? They should just have asked then..

But maybe they aren't good at it, or something like that. If you really think about it, it makes sense. They tell us they rescued us, and we become their good friends because we're so grateful.

I think I figured all of it out, really!

You're so smart.. [ yup, she actually believes it - she's sort of amazed, really. ]

So does that mean someone just has to teach them how to make friends..?
