Format: Action, but I'll match you.
Summary: Having had a few days to adapt - for some values of the word adapt (read: stop feeling homicidal about everything ever), Sesshomaru decides it's time to explore a little and test a few theories.
Warnings: Testy inu daiyoukai with a tendency to melt things that annoy him with his poison claws. Also fluffy, angry dog in the meadow floor.

[Room 4-14]

[He hadn't much noticed the two boxes or the wreath in his trunk, when he first arrived, much more in a hurry to get out of that ridiculous suit - which was thankfully already melted and done for - and to seek out some answers, but today Sesshomaru takes the time to study them, before heading out to inspect the tower more in detail. He'd worked out most of his rage at the monsters in that perpetual night floor, but he hadn't come out with many answers over all.

So now there he is, sitting on his assigned bed - tch - arching an eyebrow at a box of his favorite flavor of pocky and a box, of all things, of dog treats. Sesshomaru did not find the joke very funny at all. It hadn't been funny when Kagome gave him them, and it wasn't funny now.

There's also a dried flower wreath on the bed, but he's not bothering to look or touch or acknowledge it, because something inside hurts a little too much when he tries to think about it.]

[Meadow floor]

[After some cursory exploration of the Tower, he decided this was the best floor on which to attempt this, and thus walked away from the staircase resolutely. A good distance away, he closed his eyes for a moment, before he opened them and began to gather his youki to transform back into his true form.]

[He succeeds, and he certainly doesn't look much like a puppy, but the size alone is infuriating. Barely eight, nine feet at the most, and certainly much smaller than he should be.

How annoying.]

[Anywhere else]

[After he's done with the meadow floor, somewhat disgusted by such a lackluster transformation and deeply infuriated by anyone who'd dare do such a thing to him, Sesshomaru stalks away towards the staircase, intent on exploring the tower more thoroughly this time.]

[At that, Tohko sighed. Sesshomaru, you were reminding her even more of Sephiroth. And not in a good way.]

First, while the insult was probably uncalled for, it is foolish to think that the Administrators won't be able to bother you if you stay here for long.

Second, I'm Tohko Amano, the book girl! My name isn't 'woman'.

And third, death is a bit much for something like an insult. Plus, I have told you that death isn't permanent here.

[He would be offended by the comparison. He doesn't want to destroy everything. Only on Thursdays.]

The permanence of death should not be the root of the threat.

[And Mondays. But it's not like she's going to talk about the comparison.]

And it's not. However, you're missing the point-that killing me over a small insult would be going overboard.

But it would be effective in that I would certainly would not need to do it again.

[At that, Tohko sighed.]

Sesshomaru, killing me would just make my opinion of you go even lower. The only way to do so is to accept reality: that you will get experimented on here. If you don't think that, you're just deluding yourself.

Well, because I would hope we could be friends who care about what we think of each other. However, if you don't care about what I think of you, then why are you threatening to kill me for stating my honest opinion of you.

Because you're obnoxious, and I seem to recall somewhere that eating obnoxious humans was good for demons.

[This is deadpan, the greatest deadpan that ever deadpanned. It's also a joke. Mostly.]

However, Sesshomaru was lucky-Tohko was very, very easy to tease if you used deadpans, as she had a hard time picking up on them sometimes.]

[Sesshomaru just looks at her, arching an eyebrow. And then, very slowly, very purposely, he flashed a fang at her.]

[At that, Tohko's hand went to her dagger, but she didn't draw it out just yet. It was best to do it only when Sesshomaru actually started attacking.

..Did the eybrow-arch mean that he was trying to threaten her or just teasing her to get a reaction? She couldn't tell.]

What big teeth you have there, grandma. Hopefully you're not thinking of using them.

[Like he would get that reference.]

Well, then you would have to remember that, in the end, the hunter killed the wolf and rescued both the girl and her grandmother.

How so? A few in the stories are bad, but they're not all terrible.

They are annoying, loud, obnoxious, self-important creatures.

[And they killed his Rin, which is utterly unacceptable. Utterly unacceptable.]

A wolf demon implies these are not universal wolf demon attributes.

Well, I wouldn't think they would be. It's like watching one human who kills people and stating that every member of the human race is a murderer. That would be a lie.

But you don't know all of them. It's not good to make generalizations about a large group of people.
