Summary: It's been forty years from Dave's point of view.

[Dorm Levels]
A young man stands in his dorm room.

Hahaha. Except he's been doing this for forty years, so it's not all that surprising. Dave was more mystified over the fact that his Ninetales looks much too young. Hell, he's pretty sure she's in the exact condition she was when he first got her when he turned fourteen. She seems rather confused too, almost not recognizing him for who he is. It's only a brief moment before she's approached Dave and is licking at his hands and headbutting him affectionately.

Dave kneel down to inspect her thoroughly. He felt the strange pause in time. Of course he did. It's impossible not to have felt it at his level. Dave has basically mastered what he can of his aspect. Like a real knight of time.

This? This makes absolutely no sense, not that time ever really did. He inspects her for a minute longer before trying to check the time on the terminals.

Welp. That was a useless endeavor.

Dave beckons her to follow him, intent on leaving the Dorm and out to the other floors. Perhaps you're in the room or perhaps you were looking for Dave right as he's about to head out.

[Floor 38: Lounge]
Dave was sprawled out on one of the beanbags letting Missy run about the room. He usually chooses this floor over floor four, being farther away and making it a little more quiet.

He's got a pad of paper at hand and he's lazily sketching things out. Mainly, Missy, although it's hard when she was all over the place. Not having a camera lead to being out of a hobby. He's picked up drawing again to make up for the inability to take photos. It was a good way to pass time and it was something he could do quietly.

[Floor 3: Library]
He's used the library a lot more since he's gotten older, burying himself in as many books as he can and reading them. Right now? He's seeing if maybe there's anyway to gather information on the current predicament. He highly doubts it, but it's also nice to touch up on things like this anyways.

Maybe he'll just read a really shitty, raunchy, romance novel while he's here.

It was very very unlikely that she actually knew how to calm down anymore. And while she wasn't bordering on completely neurotic thanks to Dave's hands on her shoulders, it wasn't quite enough to make her simmer down. So, calm down a bit yes, but she didn't look that eager to actually sit down. And she had to do some work interpreting what he was thinking exactly.

She missed Dave still talked. Maybe it was just yesterday when she last heard him, but she still missed it.

"The fuck are we supposed to do? Are we actually supposed to do anything or--?" They were still the Alpha timeline, right...?

Well, Dave wants to sit down. But that's mostly because it's a lot easier to write sitting down. Standing and writing is ridiculously hard! Dave just gently leads her to his bed. If she wasn't going to sit, he was at least going to sit. It also meant he can use the pad of paper on his bedside table versus the one he carried around.

Missy butts her head against Jade's leg, whining.

He holds out the piece of paper once he's finished writing.

She lets him lead her to the bed, though that may be more of her own unawareness of her surroundings until she's in front of the bed. She jumps slightly with surprise when she sees Missy, and...is incredibly confused herself, as she kneels down to inspect the Pokemon more carefully.

"Miss--?" It had been awhile since she'd seen her looking so young. Or maybe it hadn't? She was vaguely aware of seeing Missy in the future-- or at least knowing some form of her where the needy Pokemon was much more slow pace.

Rather than actually going to sit on the bed though, instead she settled on the ground next to Missy and leaned against it, stretching her neck to look at the note.

"B-But what if it's not?! Just yesterday people were getting their limbs ripped off or-- falling into the black floor and--" There was a whole sort of ramble of scenarios that may or may not have happened, but most certainly did not happen recently or yet.

You know what she was just gonna start petting Missy on the head and try not to have a panic attack.

Missy is so confused right now. Why are you older too? Why is everyone older? What's going on? But despite that, Missy seems to be enjoying the attention. She's also perceptive and knows that Jade must be freaking out a bit so she licks Jade's hand encouragingly and whines a bit. It's okay! Missy has got your back apparently.

Dave, in the meantime is trying to think of how to let Jade down gently. He doesn't want to freak her out too much but with how things seem to be looking...

And with everyone else being younger and having less on their shoulders...they should take advantage of that. Be happy to know that some of the people they were close too hadn't fallen as far as they have. Not that Dave was aware of what's going on right now.

Jade was glad to have Missy-- it sort of kept her occupied for a while, at least when she ran out of breath. She only stopped petting the fox when there was another note to read (how long had she been waiting or that note exactly?), which she quietly read over, and...

"Oh."

She did it again.

She sank against the bed and sort of gave Missy a half hug, downcast like a child who had been scolded for doing something wrong, though she was sure that wasn't Dave's intention.

She should've been happy that some of their friends were better again-- or that they hadn't been stricken from the timeline yet. But it was hard to be happy when she was just worried about what was going to come next.

"Uh. Can I come with...?"

Dave quirks his mouth in a bit of a sad smile. He shifts a bit and he moves from his bed to sitting on the floor next to her. He knocks his shoulder against her and moved so he could ruffle her hair a bit. He wasn't trying to make her a feel bad and he hops that it was reading that way. He had a huge soft spot for her and he definitely didn't like seeing her like that.

Missy whined a bit and tried to lick Jade's face.

Dave then grasped one of her hands in his. A silent way for her to know that he was completely fine with her coming with him to the library.

He'd like that honestly. She was basically the only other person who had similar worries that he had. The fact that their time might be limited.

She shrugged her shoulders a bit when he ruffled her hair, but it wasn't in annoyance; on the contrary, a small smile came to her face. And it was hard not to keep that with an adorable Nine-tailed fox licking your face, so she treated Missy to another few scratches on her head with her free hand when she released the sort-of a hug.

Jade was a bit calmer now, but that didn't mean she wasn't in a rush; as she kind of perpetually was. Besides, they'd been waiting there for a while. So she slowly stood back up to her feed and pulled on Dave's hand to urge him up. No time to waste!

Dave smiles a bit as he stumbles to his feet. He's gotten pretty used to being dragged around by other people. He didn't really mind, honestly. It was kind of endearing and he would have followed anyways. He'd probably go anywhere for Jade's sake. Jade has a rather fond spot in his heart along with a few others.

Once Dave is sure that he wasn't going to fall on his face for one reason or another, he motions for her to lead the way.

Jade's gracious enough to stop to make sure he doesn't lose his balance, probably attributed a bit to her paranoia. She does nevertheless get antsy in the few seconds it took him. She honestly wasn't sure how long it took him to regain his balance-- she hadn't hurt him or anything had she?

But when he's OK, she smiles, and give another tug on his hand, pulling him along and heading straight to the library.

Naw, he's fine. And you should give him more credit. He doesn't get hurt that easily. He's built of a rather good tolerance to pain with all that's happened here. It's a blessing and also kind of sad considering how much has happened to him.

He let's her tug him along to the library. It isn't going to disappear on you Jade. Sheesh!

You never know, OK! The way this Tower worked was...not fun. Disappearing floors weren't totally unheard of, and she wasn't sure if they were lollygagging around too much, to be honest.

When they finally get to the library, she... Well, actually she has no idea what to do. She wasn't very good at the making up plans part, just the execution, so she looks at Dave curiously, waiting to take his lead.

Dave browses through the shelves. He isn't actually sure what to expect. They never readily had any way to get info about this place before. He doubts they'll get anything now.

But he keeps his hand in Jade's, tugging her along gently.

She doesn't mind, really-- and even though she was usually pouring over the more idle moment with excruciating attention and detail, she was fine at the moment just watching the titles of the books pass (Had she seen that one before? Maybe she'd actually noticed that one a week ago-- no wait, was it a month? That one she was sure wasn't there a year ago--) until Dave found something he wanted. She wouldn't bother him too much until then.

Dave seems pretty occupied just browsing through the shelves. He isn't sure what he's looking for exactly, but he definitely wasn't finding anything that was of use. He let's his shoulders slump a bit. Well, this might have been a bit of a waste of time for the both of the. He does like the library, but he wasn't here for enjoyment. Unfortunately, he doesn't think they're going to find any information on the situation they're currently in.
