Setting: Floor 2 and the medical ward.
Format: Prose, but will follow you.
Summary: Vicente makes his way to the medical ward so he can get his supply of blood.
Warnings: Blood. Philosophical debate about religion.

It had been at least four days since Vicente had last had any blood. Even as ancient as he was and could no longer pass for a mortal, he still could only go so long without feeding. The collar with its green light didn't make it easy to be his usual sneaky self, which didn't help matters.

It was a good thing that the medical ward had supplies of blood for the taking. The creatures here he could kill easily enough, but he wasn't sure that it was safe to feed off them. Unlike Morrowind vampires, he couldn't subside on non-sapient creatures' blood anyway.

In a dark corner of the room, Vicente sat in the shadows, hunched over. In his hands was a blood packet, which he greedily sank his teeth into and sucked, drinking in the essence.

"In my world, each god has their own name," Vicente said. "Talos, who once went by the name Tiber Septim in life, for example. Or Akatosh, the chief diety of the Nine."

Raphael nodded at that. It was interesting, learning about other world's God's.

"In my world, God is simply God, and the Angels who serve him are given names that show how they serve him. Uriel, for example, means 'God is my light.', and will offer his strength to people who feel that their light is going out."

"Interesting. Uriel was the name of the Emperor back in my world. Emperor Uriel Septim VII. Recently assassinated, very tragic," Vicente said in a matter-of-fact tone. Alas, if only the Dark Brotherhood had been the ones to commit that murder. They had not killed an emperor since Pelagius.

"The Nine Divines in my world do not have otherwordly minions," He said. "The Daedric Princes have their lesser daedra, of course."

"That is interesting. I suppose languages and certain names cross worlds. And I am sorry to hear that..but it was probably the will of your Nine Divines to have it happen, so do not be too sad."

..Yes, this was how Raphael sometimes comforted people. Traveling with Enoch had helped a little bit, but he was still getting used to it.

"That is interesting. In my world, God has his Angels, and the ruler of the Vileness, Prince Belial, has Demons that work for him."

"It was the will of a cult devoted to the Daedric Prince of Destruction, Mehrunes Dagon," Vicente said. So in a way, it was the will of a god.

"A cult devoted to a Daedric Prince.." That sounded like the humans who worshiped the Fallen Ones in their Tower.

"I do not think doing acts for Demonic Princes is good..but perhaps I am too unfamiliar with your world to properly make a judgement."

"Daedra worship is illegal, as the Daedric Princes are... morally ambiguous at best," Vicente explained. "After the Emperor's death, portals to Oblivion opened in my world, so that Dagon's forces could invade the mortal realm."

"So, in the end, it was not beneficial for Humanity or the other Gods that this murder occurred."

Vicente shook his head. "The only benefit was for the cult's own goals," He replied. And perhaps Dagon. All Vicente knew was how to please his own god, and that was through spilling blood in his name.

Raphael nodded. "I see..so they were trying to serve their God to the best of their ability. Interesting."

..He wasn't quite sure how he felt about this, but it didn't worry him too much. Or, at the very least, he wouldn't let it worry him.

"..Were you part of this cult?"

Again, Vicente shook his head. "No, I was not," He replied thruthfully. He was part of a cult, just not one to Mehrunes Dagon. "But once they began revealing themselves, the details of the Emperor's murder came to light."

"And, as a consequence, the Humans who were part of that cult got punished by the other Humans and Gods."

"Those who revealed themselves in public were surely dealt with by the city guard," Vicente said. Why they had revealed themselves, he did not know. Telaendril said that they had attacked someone in town, but she didn't have a clear view of who the target was. "But the cult was still at large, since the Oblivion gates failed to close before I left."

At that knowledge, Raphael nodded. "So the ones that were not killed escaped to 'Oblivion'?"

"I do not know," Vicente replied. "It is possible. I do not go outside often, you see, and get my information second-hand." At his age, in his advanced state of vampirism, he could not walk in the sun, no matter how much blood he drank.

"I understand. Why do you not go outside often?"

"Vampires prefer the darkness," Vicente replied. It was a half-truth, but he wasn't about to reveal that sunlight could kill him.

At that, Raphael nodded.

"I see. I suppose that is why you are in that dark corner."

Not that Raphael would have killed him if he knew. He was an Angel of healing, not killing.

"Indeed," Actually it had been because he was used to hiding when he fed, even when it was out of a blood pack instead of a neck. "I keep to the darkness in the Tower, even during the day."

Raphael nodded again as he thought.

"I see..does the sunlight cause you pain?"

"...It does," Vicente confessed. "Sunlight is poison to a vampire." As was garlic and fire. But again, he wasn't going to just reveal his weaknesses.

"..I see. I shall remember that then."

..Even though this was an unholy creature, Raphael wasn't planning on killing this person. He would probably use the information to keep him alive.

Vicente's voice grew hard. "Tell no one else. I have no desire for the entire tower to know my weakness." He already made a habit of avoiding the cafeteria when he knew the meal would contain garlic.

Raphael looked a little puzzled at that, but nodded.

"I was not planning on telling anyone else. You need not worry."
