Summary: Vergil finds himself in the tower again, he's not into it, and also mom's gone
Format: Starting action, but I can match
Warnings: He's a jerk but I dunno, I'll update if there's anything

Room 1-04
[On one hand, at least he's not in a room with Gamzee anymore. Vergil can appreciate this small blessing. On the other, he's in the tower again. Where he was made to feel victimised, where his powers didn't work in many places. He doesn't waste time reading the letters, he already knows what to expect, and he's already seen the destruction. It made no difference to him, really.

First he checks his trunk for clothes that aren't a bodysuit, and after changing looks through the rest. As it should have been last time, finally, his sword is there. Vergil unsheathes it, making an inspection of the blade, before swinging it once to check the weight. Everything seems in order.

His amulet and a photograph of the woman it had belonged to, his mother, sit together. He slips the amulet around his neck and photograph in his pocket. Finding her and making sure she's safe is important, a photograph might lend some assistance if he's going to check her room.]


Room 3-07 and surrounding area
[Without missing a beat, he immediately goes down to room 3-07, a room he couldn't forget after escorting its resident every day. And without knocking, opens the door, looking around for Eva. When it's quite clear she isn't in the room herself, he looks around the room for any sign of her living there. Which means going through other people's things.]


Network - video
[There's only a small glimpse of Vergil himself, as after turning on the video, he holds up a photograph of a blonde-haired woman.]

I wish to know the whereabouts of this woman. She was here only recently, I haven't yet found her. Should any harm have come to her, I will see to punishment accordingly.


Research library
[Being quite sure she's gone, there's not much choice but to hang out in the library now. Still carrying his sword, he moves from the terminals to the section history should have been in. Still gone, of course. He searches for something even remotely similar, folklore and myths, as he of all people should know legends are often more than fiction, geography, anything. When he eventually comes across a book of myths, he leans against the bookshelf, katana resting in much the same position at his side.]

[He wouldn't want to deal with his brother. If it's a reference to The Divine Comedy and nothing else, it's fine.]

[Tohko thought for a moment. Virgil, in The Divine Comedy, was an Angel. Maybe it was because this Virgil was a Demon that he hated Dante.]

Ah..alright then. I won't let him know you're here then, if I see him.

[Kill him? Why would he ever even think about that-- oh wait. It's not like making that promise would mean anything to him, he'll easily break it if he wants.]

Well..in The Divine Comedy, Virgil helped out Dante because he was an Angel..but if you're a Demon, you might have a different relationship with him. Thank you for agreeing though.

The Dante I know is a demon himself.

[Tohko sighed at that.]

I see..I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions then.

Not at all. You'll know it to be him as we share the same face.

I see..how come you two have the same face?

[He was avoiding saying it, but if he doesn't answer, the chances Tohko will be his lookout are pretty low...]

Ah, alright then. That would explain it. However..it's a little sad to know that you guys don't get along.

Family bonds are meaningless to demons.

Sentimentality is a human emotion.

But..it's not sentimentality that attaches human children to parents or siblings.

Sentimentality keeps them together, otherwise despite any 'fond memories', nothing would keep them together past childhood.

That's not true! People grow attached to each other if they spend time with people they like. Sure, sometimes parents aren't nice, and sometimes parents don't form bonds with their kids, but most of the time, both parent and child form attachments with each other. Those attachments are a form of love.

And that is another thing demons have no concept of, love, bonds and attachment are nothing to us. They are purely human concepts and emotions.

[At that, Tohko sighed.]

I see..then what do you have?

Self-preservation, pride, power, and little else.

[tohko_amano]

But if you're capable of those things, then you're also capable of self-destruction, humility, and weakness. You can't have one without the other, even if you don't realize it.

[bloodright]

Capable, yes. There are hoardes of weak demons, but even they are leagues above the capabilities of humans. They show humility to the demon lord, and no one else.

I imagine they would be..but just because they only show humility to the demon lord doesn't mean that they can't show it to other people, or learn how to deal with new emotions.
