Characters: Amberley and YOU. The last prompt is closed to Ciaphas though.
Setting: Floor 51, 87, and finally 77
Format: Whatever's fine!
Summary: Amberley sets off to sew some new dresses, writes some cute mail for friends, and then finally meets up with Ciaphas so she can boss him around.
Warnings: Open threads should be really tame. The closed thread will involve a lot of eye banging and swearing, most likely.

Floor 51

[ After speaking with Chloe, Amberley realizes that a hobby is something she needs. Granted, she has been spending a lot of time exploring, but that was getting old and stale now that she had gone through the new rooms and the old. Though, she can't imagine doing something that wasn't at least somewhat productive, so she set off to the sewing room. Amberley only came in with one silky dress, and she wanted at least a few more.

With a few failed attempts thrown around her chair, you can see that she's getting the hang of it... kind of? Her most recent attempt, which is just 'alright' doesn't conform to her body, but it's at least wearable without looking completely horrible.

Also, you may or may not notice the Mannequin she kicked down for trying to steal her sewing kit. ]


Floor 87

[ Amberley also wanted to begin using the mailbox system. She had never used mail written on paper, and while it seemed very archaic to her, she still really wanted to try! She managed to swipe some markers and different colors, and she writes in elegant words on sheets of paper she found lying around inside the mail room. She just hoped that everyone here reads Gothic... ]

[ooc: gothic is basically english in the 40k world. ]


Floor 77 | Closed to Ciaphas Cain

[ After telling Ciaphas to meet her here, she waited in the shared locker room. After discovering this room, she had been interested in the lockers, but not enough to reveal the contents she was hiding in there to anyone else. Ciaphas would be the perfect person to make sure that her contents were secure.

She particularly liked this new floor because it was mostly empty, quiet, and rather relaxing. It was a good way to get Ciaphas alone and finally relay information she's been meaning to, but couldn't because of listening ears. Plus, it'll be nice to complain for once, because she doesn't really do that opening up to people thing that others in the tower might have done. ]

[ Honestly, she could probably carry Lancer but that would kind of blow her cover.

So instead she just looks at him reassuringly. She's seen people walk miles bleeding with half of their stomach no longer in tact, he can do this. ]

[He doesn't have the Battle Continuation skill for nothing. Once he sees her reassuring gaze, he starts climbing the stairs. He's little slower than he would be usually, but he's still taking firm, steady steps.]

[ It's cool. Amberley isn't in a hurry. Just take your time. ]

[It's a little awkward, walking up the stairs silently, so he decides to say something.]

You know, they spend all the time on the fancy floors, but never even try to decorate the staircases.

[It sort of wrecked the illusion of some floors. When one saw the staircase, they remembered they were in a tower still.]

I've noticed that the people responsible seem to skip a lot of small details. Maybe they're just interested in the big picture?

[ Amberley was still very curious about the missing books in the library. ]

Or they're just scared of the details. Like they don't want us to know too much about how this place works.

Maybe, but there also seems to be a lack of planning there. I mean, why would any great mastermind draw so much attention to lacking small details? If you have weaknesses, at least try to hide them.

[puppy_lancer]

Better letting people know that they have a weakness, but not know that that weakness is, I guess. Keeps people guessing and falling into traps.

Like the missing books in the library are most history books. So Tower history is just what the network gives us.

I suppose so. But I still want to know why there's a history section to begin with if it's just empty.

Any ideas?

Best one I can think of is that there used to be a history section. Then someone got scared and removed it.

At least you're thinking about it. Emotions like fear are great motivation for a lot of things.

I'm not an expert on the Tower. There's some people out there who definitely know more than I do. But the people who run the Tower now...I don't think they built it. So maybe someone else built the history section and the admins removed it once they took over the place?

[ Jackpot! She honestly can't help but get a little excited at that tidbit of information. ]

That would make quite a bit of sense! So the new admins do not have the same abilities as the original owners did? Yes, this is a good line of reasoning.

Ruana has psionics. And Jason has some sort of control over our collars. Otherwise, I've got no idea.

[ A psyker? Emperor's bowels, what she wouldn't do to have Jurgen here. ]

Yes, two of the people that rule this place. I don't quite like the idea of someone being in control of something around my neck, but it can't be helped.

Sounds rather inconvenient.

Of course. Then again, he didn't take advantage of it to do anything too bad.

[He just ended up in some sort of prison for a while.]

And it was only the limbs. Not like he gave anyone a heart attack or anything.

[ Oh yes, that just sounds so much better, Lancer. ]

Hopefully, I can avoid such a thing happening.

Well, as long as you don't try punching him in the face you can probably avoid it.

I am certainly not that stupid, though the invitation is inviting.

[ Oh, how she wishes she could go back to her own world where shooting people in the face is actually a good way to solve your problems. ]

Everyone wants to punch Jason. But try it and he either paralyzes you or puts a monster under your bed.

I'm not really much of a fighter, so I'd prefer if neither of those things happened to me.
