~solo 2~

Characters: Kurt Hummel and OPEN
Setting: Floor Seven, the Pool
Format: Will match~
Summary: Kurt now has a job. :|
Warnings: None~

Of course Kurt's job is pool boy. Of course it is.

Even worse, though, is the fact that these swimsuits are not flattering, and Kurt is not best pleased to be scooping this and that out of the enormous twisty-turny pool with an extremely unwieldy net. He's really just buying time, though, until he has to go and clean the underwater bits.

So there he'll stand, shirtless and soggy and blushing and pissed-off. Approach with extreme caution.

The net in Kurt's hands is a dead giveaway - Sheba, approaching the poolside with a net of her own, looks a little relieved. So she wasn't the only one cleaning this behemoth of a pool. Good to know. He doesn't look too happy, but that's never stopped her from talking to someone before.

She frowns down at the water and kneels at the pool's edge to dip her hand in and test the waters. Then she glances up at him over her shoulder.

"Sometimes I wonder if they'd really notice if we didn't actually dive in to clean it. What do you think?"

She shrugs, shifting a little so she can sit at the pool's edge and dip her legs into the water. "Impossible is kind of this place's specialty, I guess." Then she purses her lips and looks down into the water. Every nook and cranny... swimming down through all those tunnels sort of freaked her out sometimes. She wouldn't mind putting it off a little longer. "I'm Sheba, by the way. Who are you? Did you just get assigned to this job?"

"Ick! They probably would, too!" Sheba makes a face at that and withdraws her legs from the pool, scooting back a little and shooting the water a wary look.

"There's probably worse jobs to have around here, though. Supposedly, looking after this thing is one of the easier jobs." From her tone of voice it's clear she doesn't really believe that, though.

She nods slowly. She didn't have to read his mind to know his false bravado was just that - false. The high pitch and the slightly shaky quality of his laughter were telling enough. And as much as she'd like to tell him that it's okay and that there aren't any monsters, that there's nothing to be afraid of, lying wouldn't help anyone.

"It's true - there are. They don't usually go into the dorm rooms, though. So it's safe in there." Sheba smiles again, this time trying to look reassuring. "They're not too hard to deal with if you keep your wits about you. A lot of them are sort of ... well, dumb. If you're careful, you can usually get by them without them noticing. If all else fails, the buddy system is good too! ...everyone looks out for each other here."
