[Since they were all around a table and all listeners were warded out of the general area, Cain thought they could start. Temporary allies would useless in the face of people you could trust.

Which for the record, Cain didn't trust any of them. The techpriest....? Well, he could probably be trusted to do what the Mechanicus wanted, which was probably currently in line with his own goals, which was okay. The Space Marine probably wanted to fight something and Cain would happily stand behind him any day. Amberley....Cain loved her but she'd throw him into danger if it meant something.

So no, not trusting anyone.]

I suppose we should start with quick introductions. I'm Commissar Ciaphas Cain, attached to the 597th Valhallan. Just call me Commissar.

[He partially hoped the techpriest had heard of him. Cain was the Hero of the Imperium, after all.]

[ Garviel nods his head, though he doesn't recognize the unit, and says quietly. ] I am Cerberus.

[ And that's it. Seems he isn't much for introductions, and his traumatic recent past and the new position as one of Malcador's agents hasn't loosened his lips at all. In a way, he's being quiet to protect them. ]

Good. Now that we're settled, we've got our first order of business. Looks like you two [motioning towards Garviel and Ferrus] are here on a mission. As fellow followers of the Emperor and supporters of the Omnissiah, it's our duty to do what we can.

So how do we start?

Find out what we can about this Nyarlathotep fellow. I've got a visual on him from the little briefing our hosts here gave us, which gives us a start.

[ He slides his helm to Ferrus. ]

Can you rig this up to display a hololithic playback of the helm memory records?

[ He fiddles with the helm for a minute, or so - just figuring out exactly what makes it tic and then using that to figure out how to do the hololithic thing. Thank the Omnissiah for finger ports.

In summary within 5 minutes he has a display up of Nyarlathotep. Presumably the helm is just that good in terms of remembering things from dreams. ]

Also minor point of order he got pictures given to him by the Animus caretaker guys.

He shouldn't be too hard to find, unless he's under some kind of disguise.

It seems to be possible that he is, or otherwise he would have been found much more quickly, I think.

The tower? I trust our sources on him being here, much as I dislike them. [ He rubs his cheek a bit, considering the disguise question. ]

The possibility of a disguise is one to consider, however. How effective are disguises or transmutations at hiding from the operators of this tower?

It depends on if he has a collar on or not.

[ Amberley points to her own full of orange liquid, it matches Cain's. ]

We can be controlled using these, but without one, he could be completely unsupervised in the tower, which is what I'm betting on.

Given that we arrived without the collars, it's possible he did. Although, it was mentioned that the Tower had to be prepared for us. ...I wonder if that applied to him, as well,

I just don't think this thing is here. Your sources could be wrong or payed to tell you falsehoods. You can't trust anyone who isn't a loyal servant of the Emperor.

[Cain can't trust anyone at all so he's always going to be iffy about that kind of thing.]

For all we know, he skipped off into the frakking Warp.

I'll concede the possibility, but I thought this place was... fairly secure from escape, for whatever reason. And I must at least attempt it. Proving something is not here may be very difficult, but I would not be able to live with myself if I thought my duty to the Emperor and to humanity was not done.

[ He doesn't look worried, just stern. He fully intends to at least prove Nyar isn't there. ]

I believe it is at least our duty to scout around. If we don't find him, then no big deal, but we can't just assume he's gone and do nothing.
