Scorned Love [Attn Minato (strings version)]

Characters: Suzaku and Strings Minato for now.
Setting: Floor 95 (ball pit room)
Format: Starting in Prose but will swap
Summary: Whilst hiding from Minato (the tower version) and his Howl-induced obession Suzaku accidentally listens to a tape player, get's infected with Rolling in the Deep - and focuses his scorned love on Strings!Minato.
Warnings: Scorned love, probably violence, probably awful things. I'll edit to update.

Suzaku had spent most the morning hiding in his room, trying to avoid Minato, he remembered all too well last year, and how awful that had been. When he had seen the tape players, and Diarmuid and Lelouch's gifts had reminded him of the date he had tried to stay well away.

Of course that hadn't stopped Minato being affected...

And he couldn't hide in his room forever, he had a job to do. He arrived on floor ninety five and dressed in the suit attached to the rope.

He dived down once and when he came up, no corpse there luckily, he could hear a sound strange. It was strange and didn't sound like anything Suzaku had heard before. He dived into the balls where he could hear it and came out, holding a tape player. He frowned and turned it off.

Hopefully nothing ill would come of this...

After everything with Shinjiro, Minato mostly just wants to get away for a while. As fun as flirting is, that went a little too far, and besides (with the influence of Lovely Ladies still ringing through his head) there are others elsewhere in this tower who would be better suited for his advances!

And so with that thought in mind, he soon recovers from his embarrassment (for now) and heads on up, and eventually, he finds a wondrous floor filled with nothing but plastic balls. On this floor, he stalls a while, gazing across the sea of color in some honest wonder. He's seen ball pits before but he's not had many opportunities to play in one, and although he's a bit old for it now, he does think it might be unexpectedly fun to dive right in. But ... given what he's learned about this place, it still seems a little dubious.

However, before he can really make up his mind, he notices another person surfacing from the bright pit. He finds himself smiling. "Mind if I join you? It seems a shame to enjoy such an interesting place all alone..."

Suzaku's eyes widened. "Minato..." Except he wasn't acting the same as he had been... Suzaku was still wary. But through the wariness came something else, anger.

Anger at the betrayal, that Minato would do this to him. Treat him like this. His eyes darkened. "Showing your face here after what you did, I guess some would call that brave."

It's Minato's turn to go a little wide-eyed, confused by the harsh words from someone he hasn't had the pleasure of flirting with meeting yet.

"Hm? What are you talking about? I can't think of anything awful I might have done to offend someone as cute as you." Whoever you are. It doesn't matter, because those bright green eyes simply demand attention.

"Oh you know what you've done." Part of Suzaku- the part that wasn't humming with the need to hurt Minato, to destroy him for what he had done, realised that this was a different Minato. And that this Minato different or not was acting very strange, for a Minato.

Nope. Still nothing coming to mind, but that doesn't mean there's any need to back down, right?

"Well, I don't know what I have done, but I can tell you what I will do if you give me a chance," he replies with an almost sly look.

Suzaku got angrier, his eyes darkening. Minato was pretending he didn't know what had happened now? Trying to get close to Suzaku so he could break his heart again.

"Get away from me."

"But why? I'm sure we can have a good time together."

Really, it's just so strange for someone to be so angry right off the bat. Maybe what he needs is a little time or to do something fun and relaxing!

"That you can still say that. After everything." He stepped closer, despite telling Minato to go away, he wanted to hurt him. Get back at him for what he had done.

Minato doesn't move, still perplexed by this anger and still convinced that clearly he just needs to get this man to relax and everything will go smoothly.

"After everything? But nothing's happend... yet."

"Claiming memory loss now are you?" He closed the distance and grabbed Minato by the shirt angrily. "Are you just going to deny it all?"

"How can I lose memories we haven't had a chance to form yet?"

Somewhere, deep in the recesses of Minato's brain beneath the fuzz of the music, he senses the danger he's in with someone so obviously angry with him grabbing his shirt. But recognition of peril isn't enough to break through the haze of joyful, flirty music. Still, something clicks a little, as he changes tactics.

"Why don't you tell me what happened, and I'll do my best to make it up to you."

Suzaku's grasp got tighter and he pulled Minato towards him, shaking him slightly. He was angry that the other boy was still claiming to have no memory of what had happened between them, and seemed to think it something small. Something that could be forgiven and forgotten.

"Betrayal isn't really something you just make up to someone." Suzaku should know, he had betrayed enough people in his life.

Minato grabs Suzaku's wrists, trying to loosen his grip a little, or at least get the shaking to stop. "When did I betray you? And how could I betray someone as passionate as you, anyway?"

Suzaku stopped the shaking, put his hold tightened despite the grip on his wrists. "Still going to deny it? Pretend it never happened?"

"I'm not denying anything. Why don't you tell me what happened, and we can go from there?" Minato didn't let go just yet, though he didn't make any effort to dislodge Suzaku's hands, either.

"And rip my heart open again, trust you so you can hurt me again?" His eyes flashed angrily and he shoved Minato away, towards the ball pool.

"No - I don't want to hurt-- ack!" He attempts to reassure Suzaku, but he doesn't really have a chance, as he stumbles backwards and just barely catches himself, teetering on the edge a moment before falling in. He flounders for a moment before he manages to make his way back to the edge and grab onto that. "I don't want to hurt. I just want to help," he finally manages to get out.

Suzaku followed him, jumping in himself and trying to pull him back from the edge. "And how are you planning to do that?"

Suzaku was pretty strong, and there wasn't much to hang onto, so it wasn't much of a struggle to pull Minato away. "We can talk and work through this."

Suzaku began to push him down, it wasn't as good as water but he could still get his revenge here. "The time for talking about it was when it happened. It's too late."

Unlike being pushed underwater, Minato could still breathe in the ball pit, though he still made some effort to try and get back up to the surface. "It's never too late. Just give me a chance?"

Suzaku fought him, shaking his head in disgust. "Not even going to try and defend yourself?"

Minato had the disadvantage of not having the suit attached to the rope, which made it a little harder to maneuver and get away from Suzaku, but he still kept on trying. He didn't really have anywhere to go, however. "From what? You haven't accused me of anything. I don't know what I've done."

"How can you still say that." Suzaku shoved him downwards again, "I loved you Minato, and you betrayed me, how can you be here claiming that everything is alright after that."

He shook the boy angrily, "I can't even stand to see you anymore, your very existence hurts."
