Something much more interesting...
Characters: Dr. Doom and YOU! (yes, you.)
Setting: Floor 82 (the ballroom)--Floor 86 (the fae ring floor)--Floor 27 (the laboratory)
Format: action!
Summary: Doom begins his "expedition" into the other floors of the tower, increasing his knowledge along the way, before settling down in the newly discovered lab to...well, you know what he does.
Warnings: Monster encounters are possible, so caution. Also, incoming ham.
Floor Eighty-Two
How quaint...
[The new mask on his face is...rather silly. It is black, red trim, and is actually placed on his current, ever present mask.]
Finally, there is some class in this forsaken tower! If this is but a tacky place...
[He of course removes the mask, dodgy as the look was. Given his already exotic cloak, he sees little need to change for this place. While before it was merely for exploration, this place indeed had everything for those of the upper class could want--minus the wine, as always.]
[Although prying questions from him at this point might not seem as different as one might think...]
Doom does not impress easily, as well!
Floor Eighty-Six
[Several mushroom rings dot the area.]
[Being a master of magic himself, Doom is 'quite' aware of the dangers the fae folk possess even to the most powerful wizards.]
So. There truly is no place the fairies cannot go. As fascinating as always. [He dare not approach any of the rings, only wandering until he finds one that has enough room for him to squat down and observe the rings themselves. Doom cannot see the fae, despite his magically enchanted mask, but that is because the fairies aren't invisible, per say. In actuality, they just don't want to be seen. It is as simple as that.]
"Exaccus Magickus"?...Bah. That is not this breed. Nothing is indigenous to this blasted tower or any other world!
[Despite the frustration, he nonetheless continues his observation. Just beside him, a book floats of its own volition. It opens suddenly and turns at a super fast rate before reaching a seemingly random page, conjuring a quill from subspace as it begins to write down what Doom is saying.]
Dark purple rings, white spots...at random patterns, all around the ring. No fae mushroom is exactly like another. In fact, it is through my expert observation that--
[It goes on for a bit. Perfect concentration, he observes just outside the ring while making these recordings...Doom has never stood out this much before.]
Floor Twenty-Seven
[Hunched a little before a work table, sparks flying in all directions at times, Dr. Doom at last goes back to doing what he does best--inventing mysterious and yet powerful devices for his own personal agenda.]
.....
[With the work ethic of a well tuned, well oiled automaton, Doom's body remains in the lab but his mind is worlds away. And much like a machine, his speech is fixed, monotone, so much unlike his boisterous self. Of course, this is merely the other half that comprises the intellectual known as Victor von Doom. One is the king, the other is the scientist, and so work goes forward as is always planned.]
[Only a couple of beakers and tools are at his side. A mysterious, apparently magical tome is also on the table, open, with a picture of a fairy on it. Underneath and to the side of the picture, there are tiny, immaculately legible words. Careful one does not get too close, as his body language is difficult to read.]

Precisely. Experience has taught me that certain...loopholes...do not exist so easily. And while I now recognize you from before, it was as if a switch inside the depths of my mind suddenly flipped open! A feeling only very powerful magicks can bring. I am certain!
And Doom shall suppose you know precisely who he is.
no subject
[Her voice was even and somewhat reserved, as it normally was. But, she smiled slightly, still amused by Doom's... presentation.]
I do wonder, however, if it is simply the power of the floor, or of the mask. Would one retain anonymity in other parts of the tower?
[Not that she had any reason to use that kind of power, but still.]
no subject
[His posture is more...say...confrontational than is normally necessary.]
no subject
[Actually, that kind of posture is such a familiar one to her, that it doesn't even really register as anything but normal.]
no subject
Be brief then, woman. What do you seek, that you would spend my time asking easy questions?
[His gestures become more ridiculous. But they are filled with confidence--suffice to say, the guy is covered in body armor.]
Or, perhaps, you would come to bask in my glory?
no subject
[The words were out of her mouth before she could stop them. She looked off to one side, her eyes narrowed, and she wondered exactly WHY she had said that. It wasn't as though she often admitted things like that.]
no subject
[He pauses for a moment.]
no subject
I see.
[She raised her eyebrow slightly at his claim. She had met a few monsters that were rather strong, especially ones that hunted in packs. But she was still somewhat bothered by her earlier response, so he received only partial scoffing.]
I also wished to learn about the new floors of the tower, though, it seems there are many that are useless.
no subject
It would appear we are not alone. My suspicions were correct, it seems.
[Small, shadowy monsters begin appearing right from out of the ground in a group of about a dozen, surrounding them both.]
I find it a nary question to ask if you are armed and ready. These vermin are hardly worth my time and energy. [His eyes glow green with an unknown energy. Probably magic.] Target practice, if you would, woman.
no subject
With a begrudging sigh, she readied her glaive, but only as a secondary precaution. Then, with a forceful and precise wave of her free hand, lightning was rained down on all of the enemies at once.]
no subject
[Green eldritch power engulfs his left hand, as he turns his back to her in a slight wish for more targets.]
Feeble, aren't they? Doom does not seek combat, but he does tend to enjoy himself when something proves a challenge.
Come.
[More than a dozen more appear, taking their place.]
There is more target practice to be had!
no subject
My aim is not something that needs practice. I also prefer a challenge, and these do not fall under that description.
no subject
[The flames of hate fill his eyes. Almost literally. Almost, this time.]
It seems to be the only foe I face anymore, even in the world I was in before this. A small..."venting" is in order. [The air grows colder as it darkens.]
I would seem folly for using this power...on meager worms!!!
[The green energy flares up, menacingly, obliterating several of the monsters that tried jumping at him all at once.] Incompetence surrounds me at every turn--*zap*--and Doom is not pleased. Not at all. When I wish to fight, it will be for a challenge, not bottom rung hobbleheads!"
His angry outburst seems to be...some sort of catharsis for him?...
no subject
[Another wave of her hand sent the last few stragglers up in flames.]
Surely there must be something in this place that would present a challenge to you?
[Since... Y'know, he looked like he needed one.]
no subject
[He seemed...lost, for a half a moment.]
And true progress, hopefully. I am a man of science and sorcery, woman. And Doom shall do what it is he is known for--[Doom's hands grip.]--and do the impossible.
