Summary: Aradia discovers her Branch of Sin and is concerned

[A few days ago she came across a bright, red crystal while exploring the tower. She had tried to pick it up but it was embedded in the wall. She did however manage to cut herself on the sharp edge. The cut had healed fairly quickly so she thought nothing special of it at the time.

Getting small cuts on her hands and lower arms are pretty normal for an adventurer like Aradia, what isn't normal is the way her blood is acting. It seems thicker than usual, seeping out of the wounds in strands more than streams.

She isn't alarmed immediately, a little blood isn't much cause for concern, but than she notices she has a certain amount of control over her blood. She can stretch the strands out, feeling the tug of it on her veins in a sickly manner. She experimentally waves her arm about, the blood trailing behind it like her old whip.

Well, that can't be good.

She sets of in the direction of the infirmary, bloodwhip still hanging from the palm of her hand as she can't seem to retract it.]

No, probably not. I can't seem to get it off me though.

[She wiggles her arm to make her point clear. At least it looks more like a whip now, instead of a thin, string of blood.]

This never happened to me before.

Then almost certainly one of their games, or one of our fellow guests tormenting us. A few have too much power to spare.

It... looks as if it is coming out of you, Aradia.

If it was one of their games I think everyone would be affected in some way. [She looks Chloe over.] And you seem fine.

Oh, it is. It's a weird feeling.

mmm, I am accustomed to some of these sorts of games sometimes not being felt by all, but I will take your word for it.

I imagine, though, you are looking to have it checked out. Can it... do anything?

Really? I thought they were always a Tower-wide thing. [Suddenly she feels even less sure about the bloodwhip in her hand. At least it stopped growing.]

That was my plan. Not really, although... [She wraps her fingers around the the base coming from her palm, and like she half expected already, it's as heavy as her usual whip.] it resembles my whip, in a way.

My experience is... limited, let us say.

It does? Have you given it a try to see if it would behave like that? As I said, it's hardly hygienic, but it's here already...

I haven't, I have mostly been thinking about how to get rid of it.

[But like Chloe said, it's here already. She turns around a bit so there is no danger in hitting Chloe before lifting her hand up. It's been a long time since she has handled her whip, since before her death, but it's not something she would forget easily. She pulls her arm back before bringing it forward in a swift motion, the whip following her movements and cracking loudly on the ground in front of her.]

[She watched, curious. As it cracked, she considered the thing and wondered if it was any stronger than a leather counterpart. It wasn't something she wanted to test personally, but if this would be a regular 'thing' around here, it might be good to keep in mind.]

And the only price... infection and the possibility you might still be bleeding?

[Stronger or not there is something really unsettling about using your blood as a weapon and Aradia thinks she prefers her usual whip.]

I don't think I'm bleeding anymore.

That, at least, would be a positive change. Of course, the amount of blood that is needed for your whole body to produce a whip like that...

I wonder... are you feeling particularly peckish or light headed?

[She hadn't really noticed it, with the whip gradually growing, but now that Chloe mentions it.]

Perhaps a bit more light headed than usual.

You should eat something, and get some fluids. The infirmary might not be a bad idea either, but even if it isn't bleeding, that is a lot of blood.

Pity it didn't make something smaller.

I was on my way to the infirmary actually.

[She stares at her whip, it doesn't look very dangerous just hanging there.] At least it's something I'm familiar with.

Hmmm, if you want, I could escort you there, in case there's any sorts of problems. Wouldn't want you to collapse from anemia, now would we?

[Somehow she didn't have Chloe picked out as the concerned friend type, but it seems a reasonable thing to do.]

[More the "curious to see if you die of anemia before you get to the infirmary" sort. The distinction was subtle here.]

You might try to wrap that around your arm as we walk... wouldn't want to trip.

[As she started walking, it was clear she was trying to avoid skin to whip contact. She had a feeling it might be transmittable.]

Chloe has a point, she picks up the whip and wraps it around her wrist. Good thing it had stopped growing.]

[True enough. Her companions were less than the most civil at times. She made her way towards the stairs, leading at the head.]

How have you found this strange little wonderland so far?

It doesn't seem that bad so far. There are weird things happening every month but so far nothing dangerous in my experience.

What about you? Have you gotten used to life here yet?

You were fortunate enough to miss a few of the games I see... but yes, I've managed to settle in fairly well. This place ... it suits some of my nature, though I don't like living with others as I am.

You mean in the dormitories? [It doesn't seem that bad to her, but she keeps missing her roommates.]

I guess this place is kind of crowded.

I do not mind the crowding. It is living in a single room with three others. I... am not used to needing to remain close to others like that as often as I am here.

You only sleep there though, that's not so bad.

True, and I'm not known for lingering when I do not have to do so. As long as there isn't too much trouble between my roommates and I, it is ... tolerable.

Well we knew living in the Tower would be uncomfortable. Having to share a place to sleep seems pretty minor compared to the things that happen here so often.
