Characters: Tohko Amano and Yukiteru Amano.
Setting: Dorm Room 01-09.
Format: Starting in prose.
Summary: A few days after Yukiteru's network post, he comes to collect the goods.
Warnings: None so far.

White Day had finally came. Not that Tohko usually paid too much attention to the holiday, as her birthday was the day after, so any chocolates or presents she got were just lumped in with her birthday gifts. So, when Tohko had found Kiyotaka's daisy bouquet in the mailroom for her, it was more than a happy surprise.

She had quickly given him a gift before going to take care of the flowers. Getting a large gar from the cafeteria and filling it with water wasn't hard, and nor was putting the flowers in the jar and carrying them back to her room. Carefully, she set the jar beside her trunk. Hopefully no one would knock them over, or she would be rather annoyed.

..Come to think of it, Yukki was supposed to come around to get the things he needed for Yuno today. If he had forgotten, Tohko would bring them out to him.

When Yukiteru knocks, he'll be interrupting Tohko's rummage through her trunk to get the dress and the parasol.

And Yukki did, infact, arrive. Early. Much earlier than he said he was going to, because the more he thought about it, the more he realized the possibility of Yuno catching them together on White Day meant Tohko would end up with a knife in her anatomy somewhere. And because that would totally kill the mood for the day, he wanted to get in and get out, quickly.

His knocking was fast. He was obviously in a hurry, and his Diary was out. By now, Yuno was probably getting dressed, or taking a shower, or brushing her teeth, or something before going to ~~stalk~~ check on him for the morning and make sure ~~no girls are talking to him~~ he's unharmed.

"Hey, Tohko? It's Yukieru." He calls through the door. "Are they ready?"

Not that Tohko really thought much about what Yuno would do to her. Sure, the girl had stabbed her once, and that was horrible..but maybe the fact that Tohko was giving things away so that Yukki would be able to keep up his relationship with Yuno would clear up whatever misunderstandings she had.

So, even though it was foolish, she didn't consider the fact that Yuno might spot them a bad thing. However, when she heard Yukki knock, she smiled and, pulling out the dress and the parasol, went over to the door and opened it.

"Good morning, Yukiteru! They're ready. How are you today?"

"Nervous, but..." He tried to smile at her as the door opened, and spotted the gifts. Yep, that was Yuno's size. He got off lucky today, he had been fretting about that ever since Tohko offered him to give her that dress.

"But, hey, you need to do me a favor, okay?" he began, glancing down at his Diary. Please don't come looking for him yet, Yuno...!

"Don't let Yuno find out the dress came from you. She, um... well..." He didn't need to finish that sentence, did he?

Tohko returned the smile, but it was a bit brighter and a lot less nervous than Yukiteru's.

"Don't worry! There's no need to be nervous. It'll all work out."

However, at that request, Tohko looked a little..puzzled.

"How come?" Yes, yes he did.

"Yeah, I know it will. Yuno likes getting presents from me." And he liked giving them to her, but that's not what's worrying him at all. Yukki could give her a dead frog and she'd still like it. But, of course, Tohko had to go further, which makes him sigh in frustration.

Rather than answer her, he just pulls out his Future Diary. "It'd be a bad idea." That's all he says. He refuses to say anything bad about Yuno, but after being stabbed by her before because she had the sheer audacity to commit the crime of "Being Nice to Yukki While Female," he shouldn't need to go on.

Now it was Tohko's turn to sigh and scratch her head. Since Yukiteru didn't seem to get it, she would have to explain.

"Normally, I could see why. However, think about it. I'm giving you gifts so that you can give them to Yuno and bring your relationship up. I'm supporting you two. I don't see how she could get the wrong idea about this."

Oh, Tohko... he wishes it was that easy with her, he really does. "She wanted to kill you just for talking to me, Tohko. All she'll think about is that you gave me a gift."

He brings his palm to his face. "Look, if you want to tell her, go ahead. Just don't say I didn't warn you."

Tohko sighed again. "Maybe..but once she learns why I gave you a gift, she might realize that I'm not against you."

..Another person putting their hand in their face at her. First Lucifel and now Yukiteru. "Alright then..I'll keep your advice in mind. Don't worry though. It'll be alright."

"... I really hope you're right, Tohko." Not just for her sake. For his, and even for Yuno's. Someday, he'd like to see Yuno having friends of her own. He knows her sheer dedication to him, and he knows it's genuine. But it's as heartbreaking as it is heartwarming. She truly and honestly believes she has nothing to live for outside of him, and while that is really sweet... he wants her to be happy for other reasons besides him.

"Hey... did you ever recommend a book to her?"

"Hopefully I will be..I'd hate for her to stab me again and have you worry."

At that question, Tohko paused, thinking, and then sighed and scratched her head. This was so unlike her..usually she was a bit better about this. After all, she was a book girl.

"I'm sorry..I haven't seen her since December, and it's been so hectic that I didn't notice her mailbox. I'll have to write her and recommend a few sweet stories."

Yeah, that's what he was getting at, Tohko. Tohko was his friend, and that alone was enough to put her on Yuno's radar. The worst part? He thinks Yuno would actually like Tohko if she'd just talk to her.

"Thank you." To both.

Tohko wasn't sure if Yuno would like Tohko if they just forgot about Yukiteru for a few moments and talked..but she had hope that it could happen. At Yukiteru's thank you, Tohko smiled and nodded.

"Oh, you're welcome! I hope your White Day goes well. I'm sure it will!"
