What just happened?[Open]

Characters: Suzaku, people in his dorm (Sora, Signless, Psiioniic) if they want to, everyone! and Link!
Setting: Dorm, corridoors. Morning.
Format: Take your pick!
Summary: The morning after http://towerofanimus.livejournal.com/48640.html happens. Suzaku wakes up in his dorm with sleep paralysis, he then goes looking for Link.
Warnings: Angst, mentions of death, more angst



A) Conciousness attacked Suzaku, he opened his eyes remembering the escape attempt, and the falling. Why was he awake, why was he not dead. He tried to move, but couldn't, panic gripped him but he made himself calm down. It was like when he had first arrived, but that had been short, this went on for a long time. He tried not to let panic grip him, trying to rationalise what was happening.

Most likely the Geass Lelouch had put on him had kicked in. He could remember falling, and then... nothing until he was here in his bed, memory loss just like when the Geass kicked in. He couldn't even begin to work out how he had managed to save himself though, even with Live On taking over.

Where was Link? Had he jumped as well? Was he dead? Suzaku felt guilty, if he had lived; through the gift and curse of Geass, and Link had died...

All of a suddon he could move and he sat up with a bolt. "How did I get here?"

B) Suzaku walked down the coridoor with purpose. He had to find out if Link had survived. The more Suzaku thought about it the less he thought that he had survived himself. But the alternative... that he had died and yet somehow was alive again...

"Have you seen Link?" He asked everyone he came up to, regardless if they knew him or not.

C)Room 1-18, Link's room. Suzaku took a deep breath and knocked half fearing to, in case Link had died and hadn't come back. Because Suzaku couldn't have died, dead was dead you didn't just wake up the next morning.

"Link?" Suzaku felt a rush of relief at the fact that his friend was alive and well. "You are alive!"

Of course he was alive, but how was Suzaku here? Had he made his way back? Had he climbed the tower? Had he found a door? Certainly, that must have been it! Without a warning, Link had rushed forward and held onto the other in a brotherly embrace.

"I'm sorry..." He should have gone with you, he still regretted it.

"Uh," Suzaku stood stifly, wanting to pull back but thinking it would be rude and was not quite sure what to do. He flailed for a moment. "Sorry? What happened... I was falling into fog... then I woke up in bed unable to move... Did you manage to climb back up?"

Link clung to him for a few minutes more before moving back and staring at him seriously.

"You fell and you never came back. No noise. You just fell and disappeared." And that is terrifying, Suzaku.

Suzaku relaxed when Link moved back. He listened to the words with a frown. "So I did die." He said it matter of factly but his mind was whirling, he had died and now he was alive. "How can I be alive now?"

Link shook his head again. He didn't know how he was alive but... did it really matter? He was back and it was all Link could be grateful for.

"Are you okay?"

Suzaku nodded shakily, he still was confused. Either he had not died, the Geass saving him last minute as it often did, and that was why he didn't remember. Or he did die and now he was not dead. The first made more sense, but why wouldn't Link have seen anything.

"You're really alright? I'm sorry, I shouldn't have suggested going down, it was reckless." Reckless to take someone with him anyways.

"No. It's not reckless."

Link really believed it was the right thing to do. How were they supposed to know that death was what awaited them at the bottom of the tower? It was common sense to want to find a way out. Trying is all they could do. It was no ones fault but his for not following him.

"It was the obvious thing to do."

Suzaku nodded but he still felt guilty, he had a duty to protect civilians- even if had often been the only soldier in the Britannian army who believed that. Link obviously was some kind of fighter, and wasn't from Suzaku's world, but he still felt responsible.

"I shouldn't have risked your life like that. It wont happen again."

"Technically, I risked yours." And he does feel like that because it was him who had fallen into the abyss. He should have fought to be the one that volunteered. He should have tried a little harder.

"I'm sorry."

Suzaku shook his head, "It's my life to risk," it wouldn't matter if he died, but Suzaku had a duty to protect others.

"So I guess this means there are truly no exits." Suzaku spoke quickly before Link could blame himself again.

Link was frowning but he caught the change in subject. Fine. He wanted to move on, sure. He'll bring it up some other time. On the subject of no exits, Link just gave a light growl.

"There's always an exit. That one wasn't it." They couldn't give up.

Suzaku nodded, "I can't think of any obvious ones." Of course there was bound to be one, because if not... how did they get in in the first place. There was no such thing as a place without exits.

"Then we just have to look harder." And it wasn't something he was a stranger too, things were never as easy as they seemed. He walked over to his new friend and patted his shoulder.

"You need to rest." Because he had just arrived, who knows how he felt.

"I'm fine," Suzaku said automatically, and he was, at least he didn't feel like he had been dead. Which was surprising but really he had no idea what waking up from being dead was meant to feel like.

"I can help, where shall we look first." Because Suzaku was more a take orders and kick things person, figuring things out had never been a strong point.

Link shook his head and gave Suzaku a worried frown. What part didn't he get? He had gone missing and now he was back, why would he want to jeopardize his new chance so soon?

"Go rest."

Suzaku shook his head, "I'm fine, really." He didn't want to rest, resting would mean thinking and thinking was... well he didn't want to think. Not about what had happened or why they were here or why he shouldn't have put Link in danger.
