oo3 | Back to the street where we began

Characters: Mami Tomoe and open, with a closed prompt for [personal profile] oathshackledbird
Setting: Floor fourteenth and Floor one-hundred (March 14th). Cafeteria (March 15th, closed to Lancer).
Format: Action to start, but I'll match!
Summary: In which Mami plays video games, visits the floor that someone was talking about on the network and has tea with Diarmuid.
Warnings: None right now! Might need to update.

Floor 14th
[ The media floor never caught Mami's interest. Mainly because she was never really the type to sit down and play a video game. However, Mami found herself with a controller in her hands, turning the console on. Hey, might as well give it a go right?

And thus begins her journey through... Whatever plot this game had.

The young girl can be found mashing the buttons with a concentrated look on her face. Clearly video games are not something she is good at, because she's losing. But she seems to be having some fun! ]

Floor 100th
[ A few hours after her adventures in gaming, Mami decides to travel up to that one floor she's heard mention on the network. People see different things on this floor apparently. Curiosity got the best of her. What was on this floor that was worth mentioning?

Once she stepped on the floor, Mami found herself in her apartment. What it looked like before the accident. She knew it had to be before it, because her father's papers were on the table and her mother's jacket was hanging up.

There was life in here. Life that she had long forgotten. ]

I thought... Maybe I was finally over this.

[ She was silent as she stood there. There were no tears, just silent staring. ]

Cafeteria (CLOSED)
Well... It's not much but it's something.

[ The tea was done brewing. She had also made chocolate and vanilla cake to go along with it. It wasn't like a tea party she would have at home, which was kind of disappointing. Truth be told, it was weird talking to Lancer again. She didn't want to dwell on the past events, but she couldn't get that event and what happened between them out of her head. She needed to put the past behind her now. Dwelling on it would only make things worse for them.

With a head shake, she cuts the cakes. As she goes to pour the tea, she lifts her head to see him approaching. Mami puts a smile on her face and waves her hand. ]

Lancer-san, over here!

[Diarmuid takes the cake with a smile.]

So it is all about experimenting? I will have to do more of that once I become more used to modern tastes then. For now, I taste so many things and think, 'This is good! Why would I want to add anything to it?'

By the way, I shared the cookies you sent me with a friend of mine. He said they were really good. If you don't mind, maybe he could join us sometime for a cooking lesson? He seems very interested in learning how to cook sweets.

I would like it if you would. There are so many things to try, after all. I really don't know where to start.

[He laughs and then moves onto answering her next question.]

His name is Ryoji. We actually met during December's experiment...if you can call it meeting anyway. He was not in control of himself at the time and did some horrible things to people. We met for real afterward, when we were both trying to apologize to the people we had hurt.

[Diarmuid pauses a moment, then smiles a little shyly.]

So many terrible things happened during that time, but I guess this is one good thing that came from it. He reminds me of one of my boys. So shy and insecure, but at the same time willing to do whatever it takes to help others.

Whatever you think is best. I really have no idea about food groups and such.

[He laughs, but that laughter quickly fades as she continues. When she starts talking about certain people drawing dividing lines, a very sharp, intense anger flashes in his eyes.

She should count herself lucky that his rage has tempered itself enough since he first ran into those people that blood doesn't start to flow like it had back then.

In the form of blood tears.
]

Do you mean the people I think you do? The cowards who handed out those flyers not that long ago? The ones who dared call themselves heroes and then would not even attempt to explain their position when asked about it?

Don't just blow them off, Mami. They are dangerous. I fear for the blood and pain their foolishness with bring to this place when it really needs no more.

[Diarmuid pauses at her words and takes a deep breath to calm himself. She is right, of course. But on matters like this it is becoming far too easy for him to fall into rage and forget to think.

It's a disturbing trend.
]

That is true. Recklessness will only get us and others hurt. Honestly, if we are to prove we not what they say we are, we would help even them no matter how hard that might be. Proving them wrong is the only way to try and change their minds.

If they can be changed that is...
