Meetup in the Graveyard (Closed)
Characters: Mihli and Tohko (closed)
Setting: Floor 48 Graveyard (Backdated to the 15th)
Format: Action to start, but will match.
Summary: Tohko spends her birthday out alone in the graveyard before Mihli decides to crash the party.
Warnings: Lots of tsundere and adorable CR
[Wandering the Tower had become an ordinary routine for Mihli. Rarely did she ever confine herself to one place for long, though she had since learned the Administrators weren't kidding about the whole "sleep in your own room" deal - the fatigue was fun, though she's quelled the thought of pushing her limits any further than that. This particular day she finds herself once more in the graveyard, silently inspecting tombstones for names she may find familiar, though to no avail.
"It's fine this way, least they arrent dead."
A shrug. These names are unfamiliar to her, thus she regards the place with little sympathy - for all she knows these people weren't actually killed to begin with. Maybe instead they've simply found a way out of this hell. Satisfied for now, she's about to leave when her ears give a twitch, some gut instinct calling her attention elsewhere - and it's not until she pushes a little further in that she notices a familiar face amidst the graves, urging her to approach.]
Never would've expected to see you herrre, Tohko.
[True to her feline nature, it's hard to hear her coming, so hopefully she won't be giving Tohko a start]

Hopefully, there will be. By the way..when's your birthday? If you tell me, I'll be sure to cook something for you!
no subject
I couldn't tell you since I've long since stopped counting the days. Didn't ever really have much time to celebrrrate myself, and besides, time in Vana'diel is calculated far differrrently than your monthly Earth measurements.
[Mihli counts on her fingers as she does some impromptu mental math]
By my calculations I should be arround my early twenties, give or take.
no subject
Huh. I didn't know that! However..if time is calculated differently where you live, and if you can't remember your actual birthday..why don't you choose one for yourself? That might be fun.
no subject
What, did you think I was older or something?
[She can't help but smile, even if she doesn't quite know how to take Tohko's comment, so she just kinda snickers before seriously considering the offer.]
Guess I could, even though my Birrthday isn't really that important to me.
[It's true. She has a few treasured memories of her Mother and the time spent with her before things went to hell, and those gifts were far more important in her eyes than an actual Birthday. If she had to choose though...]
Maybe I could just make it today? That way you wouldn't have to spend yourrrs alone.
no subject
Actually, I thought you were a little bit younger than that.
[When Mihli said that she'd make her birthday today so that she wouldn't have to spend it alone though..that surprised her. But it wasn't a bad surprise. She paused for a moment before giving Mihli a huge, genuine smile.]
Oh, thank you! Happy Birthday then! Let's see..
[Tohko, going through the books, pulled out a copy of The Old Man And The Sea and presented it to Mihli.]
Here you go! I know it's not much, but here's your present!
no subject
[In any case, she brushes off Tohko's huge smile with that same smirk. It's the least she can offer, especially when she doesn't have any presents or insight to give her
friendacquaintance, but what really takes her off guard is the sudden book Tohko brandishes out of the blue.]Hey, hey, I don't need that... Don't go giving away your books when it's not even really my birrthday. If anything you should be getting the presents, right? Keep it for yourself.
no subject
Well..it may not really be your birthday, but that's what you chose, so that's what it now is, since you can't remember what it actually is.
Don't worry! I've got plenty of other books here, and I don't mind if I don't get any presents. I wasn't expecting them anyway.
no subject
No changing yourr mind on this, huh? Fine, fine...
[She takes the book before flashing Tohko that same smile she seems a bit more comfortable sharing]
Thanks. Rrreally.

[Tohko saw that smile, and in return, her's just grew a bit warmer. At Mihli's thank you, Tohko nodded.]
Oh, you're welcome..and thanks for spending the day with me.
[She really did enjoy talking with Mihli. She tended to put on a hard exterior, but she seemed pretty kind..kind enough that she chose to share the same birthday just so that she wouldn't be alone.]

Like I said, it's a nice brreeze.

..It is pretty nice today. I wonder if this is the sort of floor where flowers can grow?
