Log 017 | A year in 6 days...
Characters: Sephiroth & YOU
Setting: During the "Like a Lion" Event - March 17th to 23rd, Seasons/Locations in below
Format: Prose/Action.
Summary: Sephiroth around the Tower during the Event. To summarize: Wet Leather, Bad-Silver-Hair Day, WTF Tornado and Icicle-Roth if anyone would be looking for him/if Dorm-mates are around.
Warnings: Not like anyone could be happy? Angry Sephiroth is a usual warning given, especially for Spring/Summer.
Spring- Anywhere in the Tower
[What a way to wake up.
First impression: someone's thought it would be funny to pull a prank and soak him in his bed. Though by the time Sephiroth's shot out of the bed and started looking around for the culprit it's clear that the downpour is coming from the ceiling?. Raining. Indoors. And it's not light rain either. Within just a few moments the water is already streaming through his long hair and dripping into a puddle on the floor behind him. Though it seemed to wash over his leather pants, not soak in - a small mercy as the next thing noticed was the deteriorating condition of the trunk at the end of his bed.
Thankfully, his clothing being decent quality leather and folded up neatly in the trunk had meant that it wasn't already soaked on the inside by the time he'd put it on. Not so lucky was the copy of Run, Melos! that Tohko had given him for Christmas, which had been on the nightstand and was now not much more than a lump of pulp on the floor. But even such hardy, leather material can only deal with so much water and as Sephiroth carefully descends through the Tower via the stairwells (since the lifts aren't working) he's starting already to feel wetness seeping in through seams. He's going to be soaked if the lining of his jacket and pants gets saturated. If his only clothing gets ruined by this, there will be hell to pay.]
--------
Summer - Anywhere in the Tower
[From wet to hot-dry in such a sudden shift. These extremes are the worst for keeping anything without damage. This includes clothing; though it is much too hot to be walking around clad in his leather trench coat and armor, which he has left to dry out in the Dormitory today - and hair!
Sephiroth has already spent an hour or two going to every single shower room, on every single dormitory floor in the Tower trying to find a shower that works. He would then extend his search to any floor that he knows that there is (or was) a body of water on. Not only so that he can at least have some chance to cool off from this heatwave, but he needs to run his hair under running water for at least a few minutes. As a result from the sodden state it had been in from all the downpours, Sephiroth's long silver hair is now clumped together most horridly in long tangles which are starting to frizz and split in the dry heat. Even running his fingers through it has most recently become an impossible task; there is now his own sweat involved as well.
And then as if it wasn't bad enough, before long the air seemed to be getting heavier with humidity by the minute. He could almost feel his hair soaking up all the extra moisture in the air and becoming even more of an untangle-able mess. Damn admins, like he needs another reason to hate you.]
--------
Autumn - Stadium Floor 50
[Anyone should have realized what the theme was this time, by now.
Sure it's infuriating having to kick your way through the thick blanket of leaves that seem to be everywhere but it's not so encumbering for one who can if need be, hover over them. At least he's in better spirits today on account of being able to get his first shower in over 42 hours. Sephiroth is quite content enough with the apparent increased encounter rate with monsters, it keeps him occupied which is something he's been severely lacking recently.
He's currently engaged with a Hagraven at around 20 feet in the air. Those who would be able to follow such accelerated speeds could get the impression that he's using it for practice. Playing strike for strike while improving his aerial agility in having to dodge those elemental attacks in less than a heartbeat. There is only so long you can play with the same monster though and eventually Sephiroth cleanly cuts head from body and both plummet to the floor of the Stadium.
Sephiroth hadn't noticed the tornado whip up in the meantime though; indeed there hadn't been much reason to be watching the leaves on the ground. Next thing he knows he's having to curl knees up into chest and tuck his head down as well, to prevent any leaf or other debris ripping him too much. The tornado just violently sweeps him along for the ride, before he collides with the ceiling and then free-falls down into the floor- black feathers drifting somewhat lazily down in his wake.
Well that was a new thing for this floor. It's nothing compared to the gravity-smashing he'd experienced in Riki's security control room but he might just lie there for a moment until the pain recedes. Here's hoping there isn't another monster waiting down there to finish him off...]

Winter- Dormitory 03-02
[After flinging all the snow off his bed the first time he'd awoken in this extreme winter Sephiroth wished he hadn't. The movement of the sheets and blankets drafted all of the cold air outside and exterminated what little warmth his body had generated overnight. He'd pulled it all back around himself soon enough though not before the chill had already started. The shivering, the ice-breath, it was reminiscent of when he'd been ill in December except this cold was a lot sharper. A quick glance around destroyed the possibility of getting warm by putting layers on also, the trunk looked more covered with snow than his sheets were. He'd just have to curl up and wait it out, as uncomfortable as it is Sephiroth knows that temperature can't kill him.
A few hours later, as the temperature continues to plummet, on a cellular level Sephiroth begins to shut down. To prevent the cold from killing him, his cells must concentrate completely on self-preservation and they need all the energy they can get if he's to be maintained in such a hibernation state. All other functions must be stopped or slowed down. It starts with extreme lethargy as the shivering slows and then stops. Sephiroth is barely aware of what his body is making him do but as he spirals into unconsciousness he's got no choice but to accept it.
He's not dead, however it might seem at first glance. But it's as close as he can get to it without giving up that slowed pulse. At the rate the blizzard is going he'll soon be buried, frozen under all that snow.]

<3 always a pleasure to welcome you back to my threads
He stopped mid-way down a corridor as he heard a familiar voice call out to him. Ishtar. He hasn't spoken to her in a long while. Before all the games, before his trips downstairs...
When she'd near convinced him he'd lost years of memories. Well, she certainly looks more like the age that she should be now. Whatever doubt might have been left in Sephiroth's mind evaporates, that time at least the experiment hadn't been on him specifically.]
Ishtar...
yes thank you. sorry for the delays!
You look like a poodle, Sephiroth. What happened?
no subject
He's not too sure what a poodle is but he's not sure really that he wants to know. It's a reference to how he looks so it can be only one thing. Eyes narrow in Ishtar's direction, he makes the effort not to snap at her though so his tone is retrained.]
What do you think?
no subject
Oh, no he really didn't. Someone get her a find definition of that and she would rather not tell him. ]
Uh... well..Do you want me to uh, untangle that for you?
[ She knew he was ticked but that didn't stop her act of stupid bravery. ]
no subject
Ishtar's request sure catches him off-guard. Sephiroth's features soften just a little before hardening back up in suspicion again. Was she implying that he can't look after it himself? Why would she offer to help him? She helped him before already and he still hasn't paid her back from that favor. But then remembering back to December, he might well have died if he hadn't have been for her, and she'd just wanted to help...she's given no reason for him to think there might be other strings attached - yet.
He hadn't been grateful at all back then but things were different now? She'd had an impact on his soul-exposure, and Sephiroth is most definitely of the opinion that the less of that happening the better. If he's got his timings right, another month of Jason is around the corner.]
I'm not sure that's a good idea. [Dry. Brittle. Damaged hair like his was currently would only break under too much attention and thinking about how he'd look with it all cut off stabs like a thorn in his ego.]
no subject
Ishtar wasn't exactly too scared to say things like that. He should be used to this, but obviously that tone was still a little teasing on her part. She's not too concerned with being smacked upside the face yet. There wasn't any intention except help offering, but maybe she might have thought it was a little funny to mess with him. She was always so polite to him, and she thought maybe it would be okay to tease him a bit since they were kind of more acquainted now. ]
Nonsense, you leave it like that it's gonna get worse. I might not have the best hair products out there, but it might be able to help untangle that mess. Plus, it'll probably be even more ruined if you leave it the way it is buuuut if you really like the way it poofs then by all means.
[ Sorry Sephiroth, Ishtar was slowly crossing boundaries. ]
no subject
him. Her initial recognition of him has never been explained, and after their last encounter he would be more than a little confused to learn that somehow she figures it's Ok to tease him. Sephiroth is much too serious-minded to really 'get' teasing and how it's not intended as a slight, he doesn't have any experience of anyone being friendly enough towards him.She was right though, as usual. That could indeed be an outcome, that the state of his hair could get worse if this heat -or more like the lack of water to wash it in- continued. He certainly doesn't like the idea of many more people seeing him with his appearance so imperfect, word of mouth travels fast in this place. Not to mention the administration are probably having a field day in making him look so worn. With this in mind-]
You may be right. Let's go and see what you've got, at least.
[Boldness wins points Ishtar.]
no subject
Ishtar just didn't know her boundaries at time, so it wasn't anything new. She didn't find him all that terrifying as some would. She figured as much but she didn't stop teasing him. Ishtar had extremely long hair too, and it may not be as nice and almost perfect as Sephiroth at times, but she's got pretty good hair herself. ]
Sweet. Let's hope the tower doesn't try to change weathers on us again. It was pouring earlier. I don't even know where the hell that came from.
[ good cuz she's not going to let up with the teasing. ]
So how did you end up with a furball?
[ She pointed to his hair. ] Though having my hair all damp and wet isn't healthy either.
no subject
- Sephiroth would keep that theory to himself. To be proven or not with the next climate shift. He nods an agreement only to Ishtar. Still as reluctant for small talk as ever. His jaw set a little at her comment about his hair again, it's taking a lot of reminding himself that it's likely she doesn't mean it in any belittling way. After all, her own hair isn't exactly in perfect condition either!]
It's just dried out after yesterday's downpour, with no running water it's proving a problem.
[That's how he keeps it at that near-perfect condition in the Tower after all, like 3 showers a day! What would be a hand-through-his-hair ends up being more of a half-drag of fingertips and then pat down the ends as he waits for Ishtar to lead on.]
no subject
Eek, that sounds like a disaster. It wouldn't stop drenching my bed. If this keeps up, mushrooms or something might grow out of my head... ugh.
[ She tugs at the ends of her long hair. ]
Alright, let's find a working sink first or shower or whatever.
[ She reached to grab his arm, but obviously not thinking of her action. If he allowed it or slapped her hand away, Ishtar wouldn't be bothered by it too much. ]
no subject
Not that it made it acceptable by any means but it takes the personal edge off to know he can't be the only one now suffering in the heat.
Effortlessly, Sephiroth will shrug his arm back and away from Ishtar when she made a move to grab at it. Just who did she think she was? He's perfectly capable of walking around on his own. He then brought his arms up in front of his chest and crossed them, not looking too impressed down at Ishtar.]
Except that's what I've been doing all day so far. It's like all the pipes have just dried up.
no subject
Ishtar was getting annoyed with it as much as he was, but probably not showing it too much. Ishtar shrugged, and continued off to another floor, in hopes of finding a shower or at least a sink with functional water. She'd have to return to her room to grab her hair care products that she scoped around from time to time. It was out of habit when she did these things honestly. ]
Jeez, seriously? Are you saying that there's nothing shooting out water?
[ She raised a brow. ] Aw, it can't be that hard to find something.
no subject
He's not looking particularly impressed by the whole backtracking, but at least he's giving her a chance? Does he really need to stand there, all topless and quite sweaty already from the heatwave to illustrate how quite clearly he wouldn't be in this state if there was running water?]
Inconvenient huh?
[Sephiroth shrugs as well, but the look of distaste across his features say it all.] I wouldn't trust any of the water on the floors it is usually, either...
no subject
She was starting to feel the heat as well, and it was not helping her massive locks of black hair either. The fact that the darker hair attracted more heat was also becoming a problem. ]
So much for air drying my hair, and it's really hot. Yeah, seriously inconvenient. What is up with this place?
[ She was about to walk further off but stopped to hear what he had to say. ]
Huhh? Why not?
no subject
A lot of it has other things living in it.
[Because he wants some of the small fishes from the aquarium stuck in his hair afterward? The smell would be ungodly as they quickly degraded in this heat. The thought of it is enough to keep that scowl present.]
no subject
...That's seriously gross. We should check the water before putting anything under it then.
[ Oh look, they encountered some bathroom, and Ishtar didn't waste any time to stick her nose inside. Ishtar didn't need that either and tugged at her hair. The cat just whined quietly in her arms, because he was feeling it too. ]
no subject
[He continues to accompany Ishtar.
Polite enough Sephiroth waits outside in the corridor and doesn't follow her into the bathroom. No doubt she'll call if she finds any running water, but he's confident she won't. Uncomfortably he folds arms and leans against the wall out in the corridor for her to come back out.]
no subject
[ Which she didn't doubt he might enjoyed, but she wasn't the type to judge too seriously. His look made her raise a brow. Looks like that faucet was a no go for her as she rushed back outside making a face. ]
I thought you were kidding when you said there was no running water. I guess we might have to venture further up or something....
no subject
But then, he wonders if his own hair can get any worse. He shrugs at Ishtar, rubbing at his own face with bare hands that are probably no less sweaty.]
Where to?
no subject
I guess the upper floors or the cafeteria. there has to be a damn water source somewhere!
[ She seemed fired up to find all these 'water sources,' even though she didn't know where they were anyway. ]
