Water | Fire | Earth | Ice | Heed his call!

Characters: Victor and YOU!...yes, you.
Setting: March 17th-24th, various (see the sections)
Format: Whatever you pick
Summary: Now that severe climates have begun to pick up all over the Tower, Dr. Doom takes about an hour to so to be annoyed and then make the best of it (especially the hot and cold)
Warnings: Nothing, will edit this if things develop not so well

Spring -- Staircase

[Trudging down the staircase, unhindered by the weather at all, was always the machine-like Doom. If this water was the ocean, then he was the iceberg. Almost gliding like the Boogeyman down the stairs despite the heavy rainfail, he stops for virtually no one.]

[Although exceptions are made all the time nowadays. The thought of the rain barely registers in his mind anymore. Deranged though it was, his mind rather thought innocuous things about this now strange weather pattern. Not to say that it changes him, more like it brings out a small shadow of something different within him. Of course, he could just be on edge.]

[And at least this time, he will politely walk around somebody passing by instead of through them like he has been noted to do. Even his enemies. Expect him to wax more poetically than usual.]

Summer -- Meadow

[The blistering heat was well noted. Protected as he was by his armor, the sudden humidity of the later Summer was something else altogether. It was not the heat of the desert nor the howling winds of the sea--this was more like full force of a volcano. A stretch of a comparison, but when the very air itself has turned against you, so shall it be!]

[For the first time for anyone meeting him, one could tell he was breathing rather heavily through the mask. Impossible to tell if he utterly detests it, however.]

[Eventually, after some contemplation in the Meadow floor, it was time to take more action. Suddenly growling to nothing in particular about how little of a nuisance the heat was, Doom stands at his full height and his legs take a suddenly difference stance from before. Spread apart as if lifting something, a few unintelligible words are guttered from the mask in what any could tell was a sort of spell. His hands weaved about in incantation, harsh yet cunning. At the last word said, he juts his hands forward, unleashing a torrent of flame that takes the form of a giant, Eastern-style dragon. It burns, almost burning the water in the air as his new hand movements direct the dragon to "dance" as it were. An explosion of what some call "mana" continued to exude from the being of fire.]

[The instant someone enters his nearby presence, he says:]
Doom am merely practicing. I am capable of so much more.

Autumn -- The Laboratory

[Despite Fall's common reputation as being a laid back, simpler time of the year when things began to get a little colder, very little made Doom more angry than the disorganization this added to his usual workstation. Given his recent fire magic practice, he heavily considered just incinerating them if they bothered him any further. He growls an insult to the Tower as another pile of leaves simply falls on him as he works.]

[Later on, Doom eventually relents about the "not just burning them all" thing. One would be careful to take cover as soon as that happens.]

Winter -- Meadow floor again

[Ever since the beginning of this bizarre week, Doom had been long awaiting this time.]

[While some floors were colder than others, this one was the one he has been familiar with his entire life. From a young lad into when he was barely in his 20's, Doom's entire life was defined by ice. Shaped. Hardened. Made better. Perfected, even, as the long nights in the Monastery dragged on with the only thing around was the unforgiving tundra. And it was here, the gauntlets and leggings finally removed, where one could see that, yes, Doom was in fact a human. His hands grip, exposing tight and very strong muscles worthy of an Olympic medal as his next practice was inevitable.]

[More stunningly, the mask laid with his other armor pieces. Only the green of a billowing green cloak remained, obscuring every single one of his features save his arms. Only at a very close range could one even make out the cold stare of his eyes and his face. As the wind and snow billowed around him, magic was called forth with greater concentration than ever before. The direction of the wind changed with his motions, great pillars of snow erupted forth to appear in the form of an ice sculpture, among others. After the calling of another spell that seemed to require quite a bit of motion and language, Doom laughed heartily. A very, very unpleasant laugh to anyone who might've heard it.]

[He would be there from when the sun "should" have gone up until well beyond night time. Monsters would be at their greatest here. But that is exactly what Doom wants.]

Spring - Ascending the Staircase

[personal profile] neverbeamemory 2013-03-18 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[Water-logged hair and slick-with-water leather attire, Sephiroth heads up the staircase back towards the Dormitory levels having found somewhere safe to keep things dry. Now he's got to get back to his room quickly and get those other books back down here before the jumpsuit he left them wrapped in gets soaked through.

He's skipping steps; sometimes conjuring his telekinetic power to launch himself up whole sections of the stairwells. The temptation is to abandon the splashing of his feet in the water completely and just fly up them-

But that's not such a good idea when you need to stop suddenly. Such as the sudden stop come near-slide that had occurred when Sephiroth had to dodge Doom's descent by holding himself back with a tight grip to the railing. Sephiroth paused to turn back, drawing himself up to his full height and looking over this resident he hasn't seen before.]

Hmph.

[Sephiroth is not about to accept being spoken to in that manner. Such a manner only serves to degrade whatever first impressions were gleaned, but as with most things in this place that try his patience, to react and step up to this challenge probably isn't worth the effort. He certainly doesn't have the time to be picking a fight with someone on a stairwell; they are over-used currently.

He leans against the railing and folds his arms across his chest. Still watching in that silent, attentive way he does when he needs to assess a possible new threat.]

Not at all. Go right ahead.

[He hides the insult well behind a expressionless facade, Sephiroth is getting very well controlled with his emotional outbursts. He's done well so far, despite the conditions in the Tower. Clearly, this guy doesn't know whom he is insulting. This can be an issue though, with people from so many worlds.

As Sephiroth is passed, he speaks lowly to the other resident.]

Don't be assuming too much about which you do not know.

I assume nothing.

[Sephiroth's eyes narrow just a fraction as Doom spends such a long time in passing him on the stairwell. Sticks and stones, why should he even care if Doom thinks him a Knave - it's more the condescending tone that has rubbed the wrong way from the offset.

He doesn't reply further as Doom moves further and further away. Fighting on a stairwell isn't a smart idea, neither was being so sure of yourself in this place. Sephiroth didn't stick around much longer before heading up the stairs again, that guy would no doubt soon learn that nothing can be accurately guessed in the Tower]

Summer

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-03-21 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Tohko, sweating, dehydrated, and very weak, had managed to pull herself up here after eating some of the books in the ninteenth floor. They weren't as good as the fiction books, but anything to stay alive. She had planned on using her lightning ring to summon some rain..but the increased heat threw her for a loop, as did the dragon made of fire and it's puppeteer.

When she heard the guy speak, she sighed to herself and, using all the strength she could muster, pictured a large storm cloud forming over the forest, growing larger and larger until..

She snapped her fingers when she pictured rain starting to form..but was dissapointted when it formed only over herself. It would have been nice if she could have smothered the extra heat..but some relief was better than none, and the rain did help. Not that she would be able to keep it up for long, in her state. However, she did speak.]

And..I would be able to douse your dragon..if I was stronger.

[Since Tohko had given away one braid ribbon to someone who needed it, he would see a girl with one thick braid instead of two smaller ones being soaked by a large, personal raincloud.]

[Sadly, Tohko wasn't being sarcastic, and at his words, she sighed a little. Even though she was pretty weak, she would argue..since she didn't agree with this guy at all.]

I'm not that feeble..and it's pretty obvious that it's a being of magic. And you probably don't always prevail. Everyone fails at something eventually, whether they like it or not.

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-03-21 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
[Tohko forced herself to keep the rain up as she talked. It was exhausting, but..it was some relief from the heat.]

I'm not ignorant..and I'm Tohko Amano, the book girl. Why are you referring to yourself in third person? And..I'm sure you've failed doing at least one thing in your life.
tohko_amano: (Lecturing)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-03-21 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Even with a lot of time, you'll sometimes fail at some things.

[Tohko winced at the extra heat, but forced herself to keep imagining the rain pouring down. It was difficult to talk and keep it up in her condition, but she tried.]

I'm not sure how I'm impish, but it's nice to meet you, Victor. However, if you're such a great mind, then why are you summoning a dragon made of fire when we're already suffering extreme heat and drought?
tohko_amano: (lecturing)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-03-21 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
I might have realized that if I lived in your universe or a universe where magic existed. However, even if I did, it would probably be best to not practice magic when there's a drought, or when it's cooler. That way, you can really push yourself.

[Tohko sighed as the rain above her stopped and the cloud dissipated. She was soaking wet, but given the heat, she would probably dry out soon. So much for her relief..and she was even more exhausted now.]

I'm glad to hear it, but..stop bragging. It doesn't make anyone want to show you respect. At least, not me.

[You're actually reminding her of a certain blue-haired brat.]

If you've survived in conditions worse than this, then shouldn't you try to help others who haven't?

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-03-21 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
It is a great consequence, since we have no idea if the Administrators will feel pity on them and revive them again. Since you yourself say that building up a heat tolerance took more time than you care to use, why should you assume that others would act differently, if you hold yourself so greatly?

[Tohko sighs at the pose. Really, the only person who could pull something like this off was Alexander, and that was because he seemed to care about others, as well as himself.]

I'm not that young. I'm eighteen, and I'm not that naive. You may be strong, but that doesn't mean you're great. A few people I know in the Tower could probably surpass you..and I bet there'll be a few instances where you won't be able to keep your word. Things like that happen.
tohko_amano: (gotcha now!)

That's alright! Don't worry about it!

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-03-21 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not trying to make you step into my shoes. I'm just telling you what I know. And we may be from different universes..but that doesn't mean that you are better than me in certain things or that I am better than you.

[Tohko watched as he glowed green and smiled to herself. He probably wasn't expecting a request like this..but he asked for it.]

Alright then. Go and find whatever paper and pens are still left here. With them, I want you to compose a story so bittersweet that it would leave a person in tears.
tohko_amano: (looking over her shoulder)

Well, that's even better!

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-03-21 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Tohko would have made a magic request, if she actually knew what he was and wasn't capable of. However, as Doom talked, she sighed.]

What do you mean, lower yourself? Scribes, in my mind, are quite wonderful. Mages are nice..but sometimes, scribes have a bit more imagination. However..since the request is amusing enough, will you comply?
tohko_amano: (excited)

Re: slightly

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-03-21 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Tohko sighed again and sat down on the ground. It was much easier to rest and wait for a story sitting than standing.]

You may think it small, but depending on the story, it may have a great impact on me, whoever I show it to later, and what might happen in the Tower in the future. However, it's good to hear that you'll keep your promises..we'll see about the objections though, depending on your story.

[She still managed to smile, thinking about what bittersweet flavors Victor might come up with. A slightly salty Mont Blanc? A bitter, rich chocolate fudge? She could hardly wait.]
tohko_amano: (apologetic)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-03-22 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Well..I am the book girl. My interest in stories would go above yours.

[Tohko sighed as she forced herself to stand once more. She was slowly drying off, thanks to the heat, but she was still pretty soaked.]

Where would you suggest I wait for you then?
tohko_amano: (Famished Spirit)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-03-22 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
I guess I'll head to the forest floor then..and make some more rain when I'm strong enough..however, it should be interesting to see whether you can find me or not in there.

But don't worry..I won't follow you down. After all, you'll..probably be running at high speeds and writing a wonderful, bittersweet story, so I'll leave you to it..but I will be waiting.

[And with that, she leave the room and start to walk down the stairs to the forest floor. She really could use the shade.]
tohko_amano: (relaxed)

[personal profile] tohko_amano 2013-03-22 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Eventually, Tohko would make her way down to the forest floor and collapse under some huge trees. She was pretty dry by now, except for some sweat, so she rested as she waited for Victor and her strength to return.]
