Summary: Terezi revives and finds herself in her room, then goes searching for Vriska.
Warnings: Angst!

[Terezi wakes up on her bed, and when she finds she can't move, she isn't quite as surprised as she was the first time it happened.

But this time, it lasts longer. Much longer, in fact. And just when she feels uneasy begin to gnaw at her, she hears a stomach turningly familiar crackle of energy at the foot of her bed. She can't see, of course, or turn her head, but she smells the sharp scent of limes and canine and oil that is so uniquely Jack, and she knows.

Uneasy turns to full on panic, and she struggles to move, but she can't even twitch a finger. She senses him regarding her coldly as he raises his sword, and in a way she can't understand, she knows he's not going to just kill her. He's going to play with her before she dies, he's going to make her suffer, and there's absolutely nothing she can do. She's going to die again, ten times more pathetically this time, and all she can do is close her eyes and focus on the sound of blood roaring in her ears.

And then suddenly the paralysis breaks and she can move again. Terezi scrambles up, pressing herself against the headboard and reaching for a sword that isn't there, only to find that Jack is gone. She freezes for a moment, gulping in deep breaths, but she can't smell him anymore. It's like he was never there at all.

She practically vaults off the bed in her desperation to get to the door and slams it shut behind her, struggling to catch her breath as she leans against it.]

I'm not asking you to be nice to her. But someone has to try.

[He pauses and wrinkles his nose pompously.]

Not that anyone needs to share that information.

[She smiles again.]

Karkat! Are you being sensitive?

Nope.

[She giggles and pokes his nose.]

You are!

[Snapping his teeth at her finger in what would have been an intimidating fashion...if it wasn't for the fact that he couldn't move.]

[She laughs again. It probably wouldn't have been very intimidating, anyway.]

Sooo, did you miss me?

[Nope, he just ends up nudging her hand with his nose.]

I want to say yes, but I have to be honest, I only woke up after you two started shrieking at each other earlier.

Well, I didn't miss you, either!

[She's just covering his face with her hand now.]

[He could say something really insensitive, but he's not that horrible, so he just leans down to move her hand off his eyes.]

[She grins.]

So, you are going to let me draw on your cast, right?

I'd prefer if you gave me a few weeks to heal, you know?

[She sighs dramatically.]

Fine! Be boring!

Sorry, I've had enough pain for one day.

[That gets an incredulous gasp.]

Karkat! What are you saying?

I'm saying I don't want to move my arm.

[Narrowing his eyes at her before he lets his face settle to something that almost resembles concern.

Almost.]

I knew people came back, but... [Pause] ...how do you feel?

Fine.

[She hesitates for a moment, chewing on her lip.]

I thought I saw something when I woke up.

Saw something?

Jack. The Jack from our session.

[Visible flinch.]

...harsh.

[She nods.]

What was the Jack like in your session?

Murderous.

[She nods.]

Ours too.

What a shitty thing to wake up to. [Another long pause.] Are you...y'know. Ok?

[She grins.]

You are being sensitive, Karkat!

[But okay okay serious time fine.]

I was a little freaked out. [Understatement.] But now I am fine.

Yeah yeah, don't get used to it.

[He lifts his hand, still holding her's, and rests it on her knee.]

But seriously, that's really shitty.
