Summary: Event stuff! It's cold outside, and someone's ill equipped for the weather.
Warnings: Amberley may die from exposure, not really sure yet. She certainly THINKS she's going to die, at least, and talks at length about it.
Also, there's some graphic descriptions of frostbite in here.

[ Amberley had managed to survive through the other seasons even though she didn't have much in the way of protective clothing. She kept to herself, working on staying alive and trusting Cain enough to be able to do the same. He'd survived worse on his own and he didn't need a babysitter.

But when the winter hit, she knew that she was in trouble. Even after bundling herself up every article of clothing she had managed to either bring or make with her along with her blankets on her bed, she was still freezing. Huddled up in a corner next to her bed, she was focusing on trying to stay warm, but failing. Her fingers and toes had already succumb to frostbite.

The possibility of death is on her mind, though she knows it isn't permeant, so the idea doesn't scare her. If anything, the idea of being resurrected with some sort of warpcraft disgusted her. It was enough for her to make an effort to stay warm and keep her eyes open. ]

Maybe. I'm not one to question Him, but whatever He wants me to do here, I want to be able to do it.

Too bad I can't just shoot them all in the back. I need to keep a decent reputation, and the heretics come right back to life.

As much as I hate to say it, we need some sanctioned psykers. Some way to keep some of these people sealed up.

We were lucky enough with the space marine and the techpriest and they barely stuck around for a whole month.

We were. But I'm sure there's some way to find a psyker around here who...isn't really a psyker. If that makes any sense.

... Maybe. That would be incredibly useful.

Of course it would be incredibly useful. And probably impossible.

I'd be more useful than all of these unsanctioned pskyers. And that girl I thought might be a blank... turns out I was wrong.

You don't have a balls crazy psyker to test that out either way.

How did you come to that conclusion?

[ She tries to elbow Cain in the ribs but it's surprisingly weak. It barely feels like a tap. ]

I'd kill to have Rakel around. She might be a bit of a loon but she's useful, and her medicine helps keep her coherent.

[ Amberley's also really fond of the pskyer, business aside. ]

Blanks aren't capable of as much emotion as the girl showed. Turns out she just hides her feelings until they bottle up. Still, being around her reminded me a lot of Jurgen.

Stuffing her mouth with food seems to help too. [Sweet buns at that.]

Sounds a bit too similar to what I know about the pointy ears. Don't they end up doing the same thing?

I can tell an Eldar and a Human apart. Besides, I don't have my very own pskyer to detect blanks anymore.

That and its good tasting. AND, when you're around Valhallans all day, it helps to drink something hot.

Speaking of cold, though, is that a floor with trees? Can't you light trees on fire? ]

Ciaphas, I know they're wet, but do you think you could... [ She looks towards them, hoping that he'll pick up where she left off. ]
