You awake in a cell. It's perfectly white, seemingly scrubbed impossibly clean, and instead of bars a sheet of glass or plastic--it's hard to tell--covers the only exit. The cell block itself is really a cell circle--while each person is in their own cell, they can see all the others, the circle only broken by a hallway leading to a closed elevator door.

No unusual powers or abilities work, and any object that grants such skills has been removed.

Speak to your fellow captives?

Oh yes [People being countries no longer faze him for even a moment] Mister Romano lives in my room, he is the same but I guess in a different world as both of you can't be Italy at the same time.

Ah... He's... me, from another world, si. Where he comes from, most of the countries are men... It's strange to consider but... eh.

[Romeo nodded] Yes I guess it must be strange to have someone just like you in another world miss. I'm from Ita... well no I'm from Switzerland miss France says but I spent the last year in Milano.

It... It is, si. But aside from ignoring it, what else can I so... and ignoring it would just be silly.

Ah, Milano... [Smiles faintly] Do you like it there?

[Romeo nodded, ignoring it would be silly. If another Romeo who was the same as him from another world came Romeo would probably try and make friends with him even if it was strange at first. He smiled at the quiestion and nodded] Milano has really pretty places and up on the rooftops the sky is so blue it is magical! I miss blue sky...

Sometimes if the bosses all were getting drunk we could sneak up on the roofs in the evening and watch the sun set. It was so beautiful.

Ah... we'll see it again soon, piccolo. I promise. [Her lips quirk, even as her eyes turn sad. There's a pang of longing in her chest, Romana homesick for Italy, the Italy she had known all her life.

Not that wasteland that she had been sent to] Ah... si. Naples has beautiful sunsets too. Especially when you're close to the water.

[Romeo smiled again imagining the blue skies of Milano, he had missed them even though he had been glad to be back in Sonogno with his family. He smiled at Italy's words, he had never been to Naples before] Do you mean the sea? I have never seen the sea before but I read about it at Doctor Casella's house!

Si, the sea. [She looks away, remembering her house in Naples, her vineyards and gardens and furniture for the past, the whole house wholly hers.] It's large and blue, and the boats look so pretty bobbing on the waves, little children splashing in the water...

Romeo closed his eyes imagining it, "Blue like the sky?" He asked trying to imagine the boats and the happy children playing. "Italy has the best blue."

"Si, in parts... but usually it's a darker blue, and the deeper you go the darker it is. But if you go under water it's clear, and you can see so much." She sighs softly, shifting her position. "Grazie... My sister, when she paints, she captures it perfectly. When we get out, I'll see if she can paint it for you..."

Romeo kept his eyes tight shut imagining it, it sounded so beautiful, like a river or a pond but so much bigger. He hoped he would see it one day, "Really? Is she a really good painter?" Angeletta used to draw and her drawings were always so real.
