Yotsuba!&-
Characters: Yotsuba Koiwai and you!~
Setting: First, dorm room 2-07, then the dorm hallways, and finally, dorm room 4-16. Backdated to the 17th.
Format: I'm starting in prose, but I'll match you!
Summary: After dying, Yotsuba wakes up rather confused, deals with the weather, and starts to search for her parental figures so that they can explain what happened to her.
Warnings:..Explaining death to Yotusba might be a bit sad.
Yotsuba woke up, blinking her eyes, and, as she woke up, tried to figure out what had happened to her. The bad people were beating her up, so she was sure that she didn't fall asleep..so what happened? She didn't know, and for some reason, she couldn't move. She wasn't sure why it was raining either. The sheets were soggy, and she was pretty damp as well. However, Yotsuba loved the rain, so that didn't bother her. What did was the fact that when she looked at her nightstand, her photograph of Daddy was melting into pieces, thanks to the heavy rain.
"Daddy!" Finally, she was able to move, and she jumped out of bed and took the photo. However, it gently ripped into pieces and fell into the water. It had rained so much that a large puddle had gotten into her trunk. However, Yotsuba didn't notice. She just looked at the destroyed photograph for a moment..and tried to be brave.
"..Daddy will come here soon, so it's alright! I'll see him soon!" With that, she ran out into the hallways, looking for someone who could explain what had happened to her.
As she ran through the dorm hallways, Yotsuba laughed as she splashed through the puddles and looked at the nameplates that were on each door. She wasn't the best reader, so it took her awhile to get through each one and move on. Maybe someone should help her..
Finally, Yotsuba had found the plate that said that Edgeworth lived here. She would have preferred talking to Diarmuid, but Edgeworth was nice too. Not even bothering to knock-or not even knowing that she should-Yotsuba opened the door and came running in.
"Edgeworth?! Are you in?!"

Halls
I dunno, really. Don't worry about it. You're back, and that's what matters.
[Red pulls away, rain pouring down his face as he offers another weak smile. They're never going to get the wet dog smell out of this hallway.]
We really gotta teach ya how to defend yourself. I'd try, but I ain't good at anythin' besides ridin' Dahak here.
Halls
But..if that happens again..and I don't come back..Daddy's gonna be sad when he gets here..
[Yeah..that smile wasn't giving her any comfort. She did nod though.]
Yotsuba could defend herself back home..but..the bad people here are stronger.
Halls
I think you're gonna keep comin' back. I haven't heard of anyone who didn't, but I haven't been here long either...
[Hm, no, maybe a little more encouragement.]
Tell ya what! I promise you're gonna be here for when your daddy shows up! I swear it on my tail!
Halls
The first part of what he said really didn't help..but the second part did, even just a little.]
..Really?..Will no one else kill Yotsuba?
Halls
Kid, I can't promise that. There's some real dangerous stuff in this place, and the bad people are still here. All I can promise is that I'm gonna do my very best to help keep ya safe.
[Back to the hugging.]
You said you got other people here who'll help protect ya, right? We're all gonna do our best.
Halls
..Okay then. Yotsuba will do her best too..is there any way that I can protect myself?
Halls
[It's a good question. What could she do? Maybe there's someone here who could teach her some spells or something...]
I'll ask around and see if I can find somethin' that you could do. Okay, Yotsuba?
Halls
Okay! That way, Yotsuba will definitely be here when Daddy comes! Thank you!
Halls
[Poor kid. If all this world-destruction nonsense is really to be believed, then her dad's never going to make it here. Still, as long as she holds on to that belief...]
Anyway, how 'bout we get outta the rain? I'm soaked and Dahak ain't much better.
Halls
[..Sadly, that belief would be crushed later on that day. However, for now, she still held on to it. However, at that suggestion, Yotsuba shook her head, still smiling.]
That's okay! The rain's great! I don't have my boots..but we can still run around in it!
Halls
[Hold on. Red's already as soaked as he's going to get, and Dahak's going to be alright, too... hopefully. Would it really be so bad?]
Look, gimme a sec to put my robot away and then we'll see. Be right back.
[He marches off, as calm as can be... but then once he returns sans Dahak, he's legging it towards Yotsuba with a big happy grin on his face. Time to play!]
Better run before I get ya! Raaargh!
Halls
[And, true to her word, Yotsuba did patiently wait for Red, even though she did lift up her arms and laugh as she felt the rain hitting her. The only thing better than the rain was a blue, clear sky.
Of course, when she heard Red call out, she looked at him, and started to run away from him, laughing all the while. Yotsuba was quite fast, so it would take some speed to catch her.]
Halls
slightlylonger legs than Yotsuba. It's not long before he catches up, but the rain makes things interesting.]Hee hee hee, I almost got yaaaaaaaaugh!
[One wrong step and Red's toppling over, landing hard on his behind. At least he didn't smack his tail, but he's still down for now.]
Ow... furballs, I shoulda been more careful. Wanna help me up, kid?
Halls
Sure! Are you okay?!
[Yotsuba ran over to him and reached out her hand.]
Halls
Yeah, I'm fine! Trust me, I've been through way worse.
[Those suits don't have very good soles on them. It's almost as if they didn't take crazy unexpected weather into account! Who would have guessed?]
Hey, how 'bout we play somethin' with less runnin'?
Halls
That's good! I'm glad to hear it!
[She then nodded. No one could take crazy Tower weather into account here.]
Alright! Let's play hide-and-seek then!
Halls
[Red turns, leaning against the wall and quietly counting upwards. Go hide, Yotsuba, and quickly! Red's pretty good at this!]
Re: Halls
[As Red turned around, Yotsuba forced herself to not laugh as she slipped her shoes off in front of a random dorm room and, trying to be quiet, quickly ran a few feet down, went into another dorm room-thankfully, it was empty, and closed the door behind her before diving under the bed.
Good luck.]
Halls
[Now, if he heard correctly, she splashed down the hall that way. Red turns and starts heading down the halls, peering into the rooms. Nothing so far-- oh, there's her shoes!]
Doubtin' that even a kid like her would leave a hint this obvious...
[Red spots one of the rooms with no nameplates, knocking on the door and then flinging it open. It's not the one Yotsuba's in, but he looks it over pretty carefully anyway.]
Maybe one of these other rooms. Lemme see...
Halls
Halls
Not here either. Maybe the next one.
[Watch out, Yotsuba, Red's got the right room this time! He wades in, peeking behind the nightstands; nothing there. What about under the beds--]
Ah ha! Found you!
Halls
You found me! Now it's my turn!
no subject
[Once Yotsuba's not watching, Red dashes back down the hallway, making sure to watch where he steps this time. He's got a pretty good hiding place in mind...]
[It doesn't take him long to get back to his room, climbing up into Dahak's cockpit. The rain's made it more of a pool than anything, but the seat leaves Red's head just high enough for breathing. Good luck, Yotsuba.]

She didn't think he would try the same trick she had, so she just ran down the hallway, laughing and looking for him, enjoying the feel of water on her bare feet. However, when she saw her shoes, she paused for a moment to put them on.
She would need a lot of luck.]
