They all start the same. The red-collared retrieval units show up again, whether by force or not you're removed from your cell and brought to the elevator, taken deeper into the tower, emerging into a surgical suite. Wordlessly, they strap you to an operating table and inject you with a liquid the same color as your collar. It will remove pain entirely, although your nerves still work in all other respects.

There are five of them, and they're preparing various tools and machines. It's not like you're going anywhere.

First his horns, then his hair... this can't be good. There's only one reason he can think of why they'd want his head exposed, especially with all those sharp instruments.

He starts to panic, struggling to thrash, trying to lash out with his powers, but nothing works.

The retrieval unit collecting materials pauses in its work, stepping off to the side and returning with a new injection, this one to paralyze his muscles--though he'll still feel what's going on. Brain surgery on a thrashing patient isn't ideal, after all.

It wasn't as if he could move before, he was already paralyzed. But now he can't even twitch, and with his powers not responding, there's literally nothing he can do to fight back. Panic overwhelms him, and a high-pitched keen rings through the cell block.

Now that the patient was properly subdued, work can continue. Even with him unable to move, his head is clamped carefully into place before they begin cutting through the skin and bone that shield his brain from intrusion. It's a wide, round cut, and they set the removed bit of skill aside on a table within Psiioniic's range of vision.

The first cut into his brain--and they move as if they are perfectly aware of how a troll mind is wired--severs his control over his powers. In this room, at least, they are still shut down, however. Its side effect is the additional blinking in and out of his vision. People and objects seem to suddenly be there, or suddenly not be there, and not all of the movement that got them to any one place makes it to Psiioniic's mind properly.]
