Not what I expected [open]

Characters: Samwise Gamgee and you!
Setting: Room 2-04, then dorm halls and staircases heading down the tower
Format: Whatever you wish
Summary: Sam wakes up
Warnings:

[Room 2-04] Sam hadn't thought he would ever open his eyes again, never mind feel a soft bed under him and his first thought was that it had truly all been a dream. Except he tried to move and he couldn't. For a terrifying moment he was stuck unable to even scream.

Then it was over and he sat up, the room was different than anything he had seen before, the clothing he wore clung to him. Had they somehow been rescued? It seemed like it would be an impossible feat, yet here he was. Alive. Somehow no longer on that mountain, and it did really seem possible he had dreamed it all up. Except where was he and where was Frodo?

He looked round the room, a room made for big folk, four beds including the one he had woken up in. "Samwise Gamgee, what have you gotten yourself into this time?"

[Hallways] Later, dressed in the ragged clothes he had found in his trunk he walked the hallways. Still not quite believing that this could be real, there was so much he didn't understand. "Mister Frodo?" He called as he walked, because if he was alive. If he had been saved then surely they had saved Frodo as well.

"Mister Frodo?"

[Staircases] Sam wasn't quite ready to step out onto any of the odd places he could see around them, but carefully continued to walk downwards, wondering how far down this place could go, and what other strange things he would see. He walked carefully, stopping every now and again to shake his head in disbelief at the things he saw.

"It may have but these administrators or quite powerful. Perhaps... even more so than Iluvatar himself." It pained him to even make that kind of confession but he had to. They're power over life and death, drawing them from worlds that couldn't even imagine sailing the stars themselves.

As soon as the elevator arrived, Legolas shuffled the hobbit inside and hit the button for the first floor. The ride down would take half an how but they would be able to fill that time, he was sure.

"I'm glad to see you as well, Sam." Legolas smiled, a genuine smile, as the elevator started down. It may be that they were all trapped here but better to be trapped and have a hope of going home than to have died for good.

"It's good to have familiar faces here. And we'll find a way to go home, safely, I promise." It may take them awhile but Legolas wasn't going to let Frodo and Sam suffer here more than could be helped. "And I'll do whatever I can to clear what you've heard, of course."

"Gandalf has been to what's left of Middle Earth. It was ten months ago that he was sent there and then brought back when the group of us in the pods were released. He didn't speak over much about it." That had been the second time Legolas had died but he wouldn't mention that to Sam. Not now and not until the hobbit had better settled into staying here.

"A girl... Ruana?" He questioned though he had an idea that was who he meant. Better to make sure though before going on and so as not to confuse him.

"We don't actually know that Ruana is responsible but that seems to be the assumption. The destruction of worlds started when Ruana was a resident of the tower. And has continued since." Better to say that so that, if ever Sam spoke to Ruana, he wouldn't say the wrong thing and anger her. She'd killed one person when she was on the network.

"Oh yes, Gandalf is alive. He may not be as you recall though." He could smell the volcanic residue on Sam's clothes, knew from when he'd come. "He is Gandalf the White now. A much more powerful wizard than he was in Moria."

It was still up in the air, they had no real way of finding out just yet. And if they did, the administrators were more powerful than they. Not that he'd say anything of the sort to Sam. Let him settle first and meet with everyone from their world that was here.

"He's much more powerful than he was and worried very much for yourself and Frodo during our journey. As I'm sure he'll tell you when you find him."

"As did I but some other force is at work here. When last I saw Middle Earth, I had a ship prepared for Gimli and I to sail to Valinor, our quest completed a century ago." Oh, it didn't seem like quite so long ago, really. Not anymore.

"He'll be glad to see you as well Sam. All the worry we had for yourself and Frodo. I'll never forget his expression when Mount Doom erupted." All the color had drained from his face, from everyones face.

"Many things here are strange, the times that we come from the least so. Had you been 'saved' a few months ago, you would have had two of me to talk with." That's right Sam, two Legolas' were in the tower. It's easier not to question it, especially with how lightly he mentioned the other.

"It will get easier to understand if you're here for some time." And there he paused, sadness crossing his features. "I'm sorry that you had to be brought here, Sam."

Oh, he doesn't mean to make Sam think to much on it. He simply wanted to make sure that he's not caught by surprise while here. It was inevitable that he would but Legolas wanted to keep it to a minimum.

"That is true. You may also find Haldir, if you remember him. He will protect you if ever I can't. And we have friends here, not of Middle Earth, who will help and guide us as well."

"Other worlds. Places where people have never heard of elves or hobbits. Only yourself, Gandalf, Haldir and I are present."

This one hadn't run into Thorin yet, whether by curse or blessing. And, by now, the elevator was steadily getting closer to the first floor. So close and then the door opened and Legolas lead Sam out and towards the cafeteria.

"Thorin." Well crap. He'd like to assure Sam that it was a dream but it would be a cruel lie. And now he would have to find Thorin and speak with him to ensure that he didn't do anything so reckless here as a dwarf might. Not that he believed them reckless, merely hard-headed.

"At least we've familiar faces to look to for strength here. Come, I'll get you a bowl of oatmeal."

"That's not entirely uncommon. Boromir was here, very briefly. As well as his brother. Aragorn has been here twice." Sam, if he were to discover the graveyard, would be able to hazard a guess at just how little time mattered here. Boromir, Faramir, Gimli, Legolas and two Aragorn's would have graves here.

The elf moves to speak to a worker unit and gets a couple nutrition bars from himself, water for them both and Sam's oatmeal before leading the hobbit to a table.

"He was. He was brought from a time before he had been slain. Since then, however, he has disappeared. His name is gone from his dorm room." That had been months ago, very close to a full year since he and Faramir had vanished. It had taken awhile for the rest of them to realize, since the graveyard had only appeared after Halloween.
