Feeling Peckish

Setting: Cafeteria Entrance and possibly in the Cafeteria (Nightime)
Format: I'll match whatever you send my way!
Summary: Luffy is TOTALLY not sneaking into the Cafeteria late at night!
Warnings: Possible break-ins and tomfoolery

[It was late, far past the hour to be awake for fear of the monsters and the other horrors of the Tower seeking out those foolish enough to be wanderinf about. Sadly, an unsatisfied appetite was enough to pull Luffy from his bed and head towards the only known source of food.

He wasn't stealthy, save for the lack of noise his stretching limbs made as they crept around corners to move along. If you happen to be awake and hear him moving through the halls, and you're brave enough to follow, he'll arrive at his destination: the Mess Hall.

He will however meet with opposition, as the Cafeteria is locked up for the night. He will struggle, and pull, and punch, but with no success. Perhaps you're willing to offer a helping hand?]

"There's no food in there anyways." When Luffy wasn't in their room Suzaku had known where to find him and gone down to find him before some monsters did.

"Only nutrition bars, which I don't think you like."

[He fell face first, his hands still against the door as he was caught by surprise. Turning around, he stretched his head across the distance to where Suzaku stood. There's a very harsh and angry face pressing nose to nose with the sneaky room mate.]

DON'T SNEAK UP ON ME LIKE THAT! SHHH~! PEOPLE ARE GONNA' HEAR YOU!!

[Suzaku took a half step back at the angry face flying towards him.] I apologise, I didn't mean to startle you.

[Luffy nods his head and returns to the problem at hand. Inspecting the lock once more, he grabs the large bolt between his hands and tries to apply pressure.]

If this lock weren't here, I'd be stuffing my face right now!

As I said, there is only nutrient bars in there, they only stock what they are serving us that month.

Nutrient bars? What're those? Are they some sort of meat bar?

No. It's... I'm not sure exactly, but it tastes of nothing, it apparently has the correct nutrients for survival though.

[Riku doesn't usually drift quite this far down during his night-strolls through the tower - he likes to keep to reasonably open spaces, that give him the space he needs to fight without restriction - but Luffy isn't exactly quiet and his partner/pet-bat-familiar has decided to fly off and check out the source of the noise, forcing Riku to follow along.

Luffy may note the colorful bat landing on one of the tables, squeaking quietly as he tilts his head/body at him.

Not even a minute later, his human counterpart enters, frowning at the scene before him.]

...What are you doing here?

[Caught in mid-bite, Luffy's teeth clenched together upon the lock of the door with no success. Instead, to his surprise, he found his tongue as he lifted his head to see just who had snuck up on him.

Screaming out in a tearful scream, Luffy clutches his tongue with both hands. Stretching the appendage out, he lifts it to his eyes and inspects the sizeable bite with glazed eyes.]

OOOZE DERE?! WAHD YUD NEEK UPT OM MEH WIKE DAT?! [Translation: Who'se there? Why'd you sneak up on me like that?]

[For a second, Riku's eyes widen for a fraction at the display, but he takes it in a stride and just crosses his arms, while Highwind, the pet-bat, keeps body-tilting at the side.]

...In Human, please.

[He might be used to having to comprehend and translate Sora's babbling, but Luffy's is one or fifty levels above that. Which is kind of impressive, all things considered.]

[Releasing his tongue, the appendage snaps back like a window shade. It curls up and forms back to normalcy (as normal as normal can be for Luffy). Staying under a whisper, Luffy approaches the young lad cautiously.]

Why'd you sneak up on me?! Now my tongue is all sore and the lock won't come off!

[Sill taking it somewhat in a stride. Though. Riku isn't particularly keen on another demonstration. Because yeah... as much as he might be used to weird, some stuff is just... Yeah.]

I didn't sneak up on you. [Not intentionally anyways.] Perhaps you should just pay more attention to what happens around you. It's dangerous not to; especially at night.

Eh~? You followed me down here? I thought I was being extra quiet..

[Put two and two together Luffy. What kind of person tracks down suspicious people?]

*GASP*

Are you a detective?!

Hakumen only came here to start his patrols. Monsters taking away food? Big problem, especially with those health bars the only thing available. While he would have just let others stick with that, having to agree with the observer was not going to sit well. This Jason fellow was already someone Hakumen wanted to be done with.

When he heard some noise though, he unsheathed Ookami. Someone else was here.

"Who goes there?" he shouts, sword at the ready.

[Propped against the nearest wall stood a very out of place statue. It was quite like-like, posed with a single finger in the right nostril. It didn't blink, nor did it move. How very "statue" like..]

[Unfortunately, Hakumen is not so easily fooled. He pushes the "statue" to the side.]

Do not think I will be fooled so easily!

[The statue simply falls to the floor, an echoing "thud" as the figure now lay on it's side. However, it still does not move, remaining still and unphased by the unwarranted assault.]

[Hakumen turned around heading out of the kitchen. He didn't necessarily sense evil in the young man, or statue, whatever he was. Not worth his sword.]

This is useless.

[Thinking that the stranger had gone for good, Luffy belts out a sigh of relief as he stands quickly.]

Phew! That was close!

[Color Jonouchi curious since he heard the noises and decided to check it out. The blonde didn't venture out at night much, but there was always exceptions. Eventually it lead to the cafeteria.

Okay.

Strange.

The person's attempt to get in was in vain too. Heh.]

You're not gonna get in like that.

[The young lad topples over, looking back and forth and not bothering to maintain a whisper.]

WHO SAID THAT?!

[He finally caught up, this guy was something else.]

Me. Do you always do this?

Who's me? Is that your name? That's a weird name.

And do I always do what?

[Man, this was confusing. Luffy didn't have time for questions! Those food bars weren't going to eat themselves!]

[Really?] It's not me, it's Jonouchi!!

[Maybe he should be more specific.]

I mean do you always go around at night trying to force your way into locked doors? [Or the cafeteria, in this case.]
