you better behave
Characters: Legolas (
bow_of_the_galadhrim) and YOU
Setting: Residential area
Format: Prose to start, will match
Summary: Rebellion Event. Legolas is now a drone from Group B. Details here.
Warnings: Body horror, brainwashing, possible blood/gore, death, emotion feeding, malfunctions. (hit me up with details about what you don't want if your character gets killed)
First - Patrolling
The tower was quiet, clean. The residents hadn't misbehaved that he had seen. His masters should be pleased with that. Drone!Legolas seemed completely at ease with patrolling the halls of the residential area. He would glance at others, residents or those like himself with ultraviolet colored collars. The hair at the top of his head shaved, a chip implanted in his head. His lower jaw dislocated to compensate for the extended lower canines he's sporting.
But everything is okay. This is how it's always been. this is how he always has been and always will be.
Second - Misbehaving?
Perhaps you swore, perhaps you tried to pick a fight with someone. Maybe you bumped into him. Or maybe you did nothing at all. What mattered was that this drone thought you were misbehaving. And naughty residents need to be punished.
Third - Malfunction
Something was wrong. Or was it? Something drew him, the despair of another. He felt stronger, much stronger. And the closer he grew, the stronger he felt.

Legolas..Haldir will be driven to despair if he sees you like this..
no subject
Haldir? One of the resident elves?]
I fail to see why he might care.
[This is how it's always been.]
no subject
Because you and he are in love.
no subject
[In... love? Legolas shakes his head. It makes no sense, none at all. He didn't remember anything of that sort. Loving a resident would impede his duties and he wants to be useful to the administrators. He's useful now.]
You are mistaken. I do not love. Especially not the residents. My masters would not approve.
no subject
..You did, before the Administrators took you and altered you into what you now are.
no subject
[There's a tension in his body now, the droned elf becoming agitated. These words make no sense to him. He would remember if he was any other way. These are lies.
Lies are bad.
You're being bad, chaos.]
no subject
No, you have not been, even if you do not remember it. And you might want to be a different way..so that you could regain your free will.

Third
There was no outward evidence that any of this was on his mind as he walked from his room toward the elevator, but it never truly left it. Especially not so soon after the loss of who had been the most important person in the Tower to him.

"What?"

Yet he had thought they meant the monsters, the dangers on the floors. Not this... Not that those around them could be changed, hurt... Twisted beyond recognition.
That those they knew and lived with could become monsters too. Was that how all the monsters had been created?
Then he saw Legolas, no not Legolas. He ran up to him, "What have they done to you?"
/sobs uncontrollably, sam no
What was it this one was saying though? 'What have they done'? The drone only tilted his head, mildly confused. What had who done?
"I don't understand what you mean."

Everything was okay.
"Nobody has done anything to me. I am as I have always been."

As willing as he was to speak with residents, this unit wasn't sure what else might be said. He knew what he was. Even his collar was different from residents.

Second
He looked down at the full bag as he wasn't looking where he was going. He bumped into someone in front of him and let his eyes shoot up. He was about to apologise, when the sight in front of him caused him to gasp slighty.]
What in Durin's name?-
no subject
"You will be care of where you walk, resident."
no subject
Legolas? What in Durin's name is going on? What have they done to you?
no subject
Nothing has been done to me. Except a careless resident walking into me.
no subject
[Thorin took a few steps back to survey the damage done. He felt his heart fill with despair at what they had done to this creature. A creature of grace reduced to this. An orcish demeanour. He disliked elves but seeing Legolas like this, changed everything.]
Can you not reverse it?
no subject
[In his mind, there is nothing else. Just his duty and loyalty to his masters. This resident, like so many others, had to have gone mad.]
no subject
You have changed.
