A. » Room 2-06 // 9:00 AM

[Ed woke promptly at 9:00 AM. Exactly 9:00 and not one second later, but he wasn't really that concerned about the time. For one he didn't remember going to sleep at all. The last thing he could remember was walking down the stairs and then... nothing. But that wasn't all. On the nightstand by his bed there was a note.

He shot up and reached for it, swinging his legs over the side of the bed as he unfolded it. Ed had to read it over a couple of times, he wanted to think that he'd just read it wrong, but that wasn't the case. His hands clenched and shook, crinkling paper and his stomach started twisting itself into knots.]

... Experiment? What the hell is this?

B. » Floor Three // Morning

[He decided to skip breakfast and head straight to the library. Ed wasn't hungry in the slightest. He pulled some books off the shelves and carried them over to a table, plopping them down on top of it as he took a seat. Maybe some reading will help take his mind off of things for a little bit.]

C. » Floor One // Afternoon

[Eventually his stomach decided to remind him that he hadn't eaten anything all day and this was COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE SO YOU GET YOUR ASS DOWNSTAIRS AND EAT RIGHT NOW SIR. Which is what he was doing.

Well, at least there was more than just ice cream.]

D. » Floor Fourteen // Evening

[Ed's flipping through the selection of movies with a frown. Honestly, he really did not understand the appeal of most of it. He'd watched a few out of lack of anything else to do, but it was all so incredibly predictable. Maybe he'd be able to find something that didn't suck for once.]

E. » Dormitory Halls & Tower Halls // Pick a time.

[This is actually the first time Ienzo's paid any attention to the fourteenth floor. His world and time period wasn't all that technologically advanced, and even if it had been, he never would have been allowed near it. But today he's resolved to make sense of the things... and of course, the one time he comes in, there's someone else already in there.]

[So Ienzo walks over quietly, and stands next to Ed, also looking at the movies. Guess what, Ed, you've finally found someone shorter than you are!]

[Sollux woke up at the same instant. He sits up and picks up the note next to his own bed as he hears Ed's exclamation]

Fucking great.

[Being in Group B, Tim is seeing everyone as a little more suspicious than usual. It doesn't help that he was already rather paranoid before this change. So, having felt a bit edgy, he decided to head to the library to relax and get some research done, but he finds himself checking out his fellow readers anyway. Usually, he's pretty subtle about watching people -- he's been trained to stalk by the best. But now he can't help but stare skeptically at the person at a table close to him, who happens to be Ed.]

[You're not alone Ienzo, Ed doesn't know what this stuff is either.

He does notice that he's there and he scoots over a little. Maybe this kid knows something about this stuff? ]

Any recommendations? This is still pretty new to me.

[He shakes his head, still looking at them.] ...they appear to be programs of some kind...? [He carefully takes one out and opens the cover, after a bit of fiddling around. Inside is a DVD, which of course means almost nothing to him. He tilts his head slightly.] ...i don't know what these are, either...

[Ed rubbed his temples, looking over at Sollux.]

You too? I don't remember volunteering for anything.

[And Ed definitely feels Tim watching him. He looks up from his book, brow furrowing.]

Kind of rude to stare at someone like that, don't you think? [lol he is the best hypocrite]

I think I heard someone calling them um... ah hell, what was it? [he taps his chin, looking down as he thinks.] A DVD, I think? I watched a couple of them a week or so ago, they were already on that screen though. [nods towards the TV.]

Wathn't there thome quethtionnaire a couple of weekth ago that thaid thomething about an ekthperiment?

...oh, i see. [More fiddling. He takes the DVD out of the case, inspecting it -- but not holding it by the edges. What a terrible person] ...maybe we should just... pick one...?

...

Shit. [rubs his face] How did I forget about that? [he frowns heavily and takes a breath.]

Wonder if this has anything to do with the people who went missing....

Might as well. [nods to the DVD in Ienzo's hands] We can just try that one.

People went mithhing?

...alright. [He walks over to the TV, and... stops. Wai so confusing, modern technology.]

[When he's caught, Tim blinks in surprise then gives him a smile that's half charming and half embarrassed.]

Sorry. Guess I spaced out for a minute there.

Yeah. You didn't notice?

[Ed follows him and crouches next to the TV, grabbing one of the remote controlls sitting next to it.]

All right, let's see... They used this thing so --

[his eyes fix on one little button with the word "OPEN" on it. He presses it and a little tray pops out from a box under the TV.]

Huh. Looks like it goes in there.

[Ienzo puts it in and nudges the thing gently; it actually shuts, though on its own. Hm. Well, thus accomplished, he turns back at Ed; he's got more experience with this kind of thing, after all.]

[TEACH ME, BIG BROTHER.]

[Ed hadn't expected him to apologize. He rubs the back of his neck with a bit of a frown, not really angry, more curious than anything.]

It's fine, don't worry about it. Name's Ed.

[Nooooot really. All he had done was watch and observe they few times he was here. Just a bit of good luck.

He stares at the remote, looking over all of the buttons. WHY WERE THERE SO MANY? All he'd seen people do was push one, put it down and then they didn't touch the remote again for a hour and a half. Maybe there was a start button or something?

... NONE OF THESE BUTTONS SAID START. Oh, but there's a stop! That's good to know. And... oh, what's this green one next to it? Maybe he should press it?

So he does.

Ed has turned on the DVD player and managed to start the movie. Thankfully the TV was already on, so they didn't have to worry about that just yet.]

Oh, hey! It worked.

[Now that he knows he isn't angry, his smile turns friendly. The feeling of paranoia hasn't gone away, but it's not like he's never made friends with the enemy.]

I'm Tim. Find anything interesting to read?

[Oh, it's working. Ed is now officially the techie god in Ienzo's eyes, yup. Good job. In the meantime, Ienzo is going to stand there and derp for a moment, and then go over to the couch and sit down. Because that's what you do when you're about to watch a movie, right?]

Uh. Guethh not. [Face rubs] Who dithhappeared?

Um, a lot of people I've only really met in passing, but I've seen them around enough to realize that they were gone

Not really. I'm just trying to kill some time. I've been looking for information about the tower for awhile, but I haven't found anything useful.
