A. » Room 2-06 // 9:00 AM

[Ed woke promptly at 9:00 AM. Exactly 9:00 and not one second later, but he wasn't really that concerned about the time. For one he didn't remember going to sleep at all. The last thing he could remember was walking down the stairs and then... nothing. But that wasn't all. On the nightstand by his bed there was a note.

He shot up and reached for it, swinging his legs over the side of the bed as he unfolded it. Ed had to read it over a couple of times, he wanted to think that he'd just read it wrong, but that wasn't the case. His hands clenched and shook, crinkling paper and his stomach started twisting itself into knots.]

... Experiment? What the hell is this?

B. » Floor Three // Morning

[He decided to skip breakfast and head straight to the library. Ed wasn't hungry in the slightest. He pulled some books off the shelves and carried them over to a table, plopping them down on top of it as he took a seat. Maybe some reading will help take his mind off of things for a little bit.]

C. » Floor One // Afternoon

[Eventually his stomach decided to remind him that he hadn't eaten anything all day and this was COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE SO YOU GET YOUR ASS DOWNSTAIRS AND EAT RIGHT NOW SIR. Which is what he was doing.

Well, at least there was more than just ice cream.]

D. » Floor Fourteen // Evening

[Ed's flipping through the selection of movies with a frown. Honestly, he really did not understand the appeal of most of it. He'd watched a few out of lack of anything else to do, but it was all so incredibly predictable. Maybe he'd be able to find something that didn't suck for once.]

E. » Dormitory Halls & Tower Halls // Pick a time.

[Just walking. Maybe he's headed to the dorms or the library? Who knows. You can ask him though!]

Wonder if this has anything to do with the people who went missing....

Well, fuck. Not AA or Eridan, though. There'th a lot I haven't theen lately, but I haven't actually...talked to anyone in a couple of dayth.

I haven't either, so I can't offer anything in the way of information. I've spent most of my time in the library.

[His brow furrows for a minute]

That's the thing on the fourteenth floor, right? Uses some kind of controller or something? [MODERN TECHNOLOGY WHAT ARE YOU?]

Oh man, theriouthly? We need to go play thometime, Ed. You're mithhing out.

My world doesn't have anything like that. It doesn't look like it'd be difficult to figure out, but... what's the point of them?

It'th jutht entertainment. [Grinning] Your world really doethn't have videogameth?

Nope. No TVs either. The only thing I could remotely recognize when I got here was the stereo thing since it's... sort of a radio, but even that was a stretch.

[He sits up straighter, staring at Ed in shock] You don't even have movieth?

[He shakes his head.] We have radio shows, [he rubs the back of his neck] but I never listened to any of them. Caught the news every now and then, but that was all.

Oh maaaan. [He stands up and reaches for Eridan's hand] Let'th go.

[Sollux, you would die in Amestris, seriously.]

Lemme guess, I'm missing out on TV too?

[Well ok then, fine. Looks like Ed's going to get a crash course on all this "modern technology" that he's supposedly missing out on. Sollux grabs his hand and then they're off!]

[Floor fourteen. We meet again. This is all you, Sollux. Show this poor boy the wonders of video games. He'll just follow you like a confused, lost puppy for now.]

[Sollux drags his new friend to a beanbag chair and sits him down, then drags another one in front of the same television.] What do you think of shooting monthterth?

Well... we can try thomething elthe if you aren't having fun. Here. [He hands him a controller as he starts HALO up.]

[He takes the controller and stares at it. First of all, it was obviously not a real gun. Second, it felt awkward and cumbersome and he was pretty sure he wasn't holding it right and oh shit what was he even supposed to do there are so many buttons how will he know what to press sob.

no. no, no. HE CAN DO THIS. He's Edward Elric, damn it! Youngest state alchemist in Amestrian history! He's got this. He can figure this out. HE IS NOT GOING TO LOOK LIKE A DUMBASS.

... and then he realizes he was holding the controller wrong. ha ha ha, he'll just... hold it right side up then. not, you know, upside down.

Right ok. HE IS TOTALLY READY TO KICK THIS VIDEO GAME THING'S ASS. He is holding the controller the correct way and... ]
