all is well, all is well. [open]
Characters: OU John Egbert and YOU!
Setting: Room 1-14, and Floor 28 (Music Floor)
Format: Action
Summary: The aftermath of the event is taking it's toll on John. He may or may not be sulking about this, or just thinking really hard.
Warnings: Self-loathing, maybe some cursing, i will add as i see fit.
[ROOM 1-14 , for those who room with him and anyone who knows where is his dorm room is]
[For the better part of the day after he awoke from the previous day, John can be found in his dorm room, on his bed. He's not really doing much there. Occasionally he will get up and get on the terminal but nothing from him goes to the network. But if you happen to be a roommate or a close friend of his you could probably engage him in some conversation.
His attitude is more lax, and perhaps when he speaks there is a hint of worry. He would never admit to fear.]
[FLOOR 28, Music floor]
[If you happen to come across John here, he is sitting at one of the pianos. He might be playing a sing, he might be tinkering at one of the keys, or he might just be sitting there staring down. It isn't that he can't concentrate. There is just a lot on his mind at the moment. Whatever had happened the previous day was still burned into his mind.
He never thought he would actually die.
He guesses this is what he deserves for pulling the heroic stunt back there.]

Room 1-14
He feels terrible still. Maybe sick even.
So when he shuffles into John's dorm with the poster and note, he automatically freezes up, because that's John. On his bed. Oh shit.
Dave is a deer in headlights. It is him.]
no subject
John ends up looking away for a moment, before looking back.]
Hey.
[It's a start....]
no subject
I just wanted to drop this off. I mean. For your birthday. Yeah.
[This is so awkward.]
no subject
Stay for awhile.
no subject
If you want. I'm cool to hang.
no subject
He opens it, and he smiles. Dave you fucking goober you shouldn't have.]
I want you to hang out. For a long time. [Ahhh, this poster!] Thanks man, I really like the poster. Like. You have no idea.
no subject
Meant to give it to you sooner.
no subject
[He is really ecstatic. He has to hang this poster somewhere pronto.]
You know you can sit down, right?
no subject
[And also kill him a bunch of times.] Maybe I just like standing. [Wow, way to make this even more awkward, John. Good job. 4 for you.]

Floor 28
She did not however, expect to see John there, in fact that was one of the exact opposites that she wanted to deal with but whatever. She'd had her headphones on over her head (amazingly they still played music!), but lowered them around her neck when she spotted the kid at the piano.
Amazingly she doesn't retreat, but instead stepped forward, grabbed a guitar off of its stand and started playing a simple tune to go along with John's piano chords.]
no subject
He's been hammering out a particularly sad tune, when it turned into him just playing chords and the guitar playing with it, he pulled a grin. He didn't stop to look over- not until he was done.]
You just keep surprising me.
no subject
She even laughed a bit sheepishly at the comment, and offered a shrug in response; that was kind of what happened, when you were a person from another universe with a whole other set of circumstances.
Unfortunately, she.. still didn't seem to up to talking. Period.]
no subject
Maybe that is why John is humming a tune to nothing particular.
This was definitely the best way he's experienced so far in dealing with everything.]
no subject
For a while it's just that, holding and plucking strings, but eventually she... starts humming along with him. Hardly noticeable over the music, but she lightens up, actually mustering up a pretty normal volume.]
no subject
The humming is nice too. They sound alright together. But John has never been much of a singer.]
no subject
Jade's reluctant to actually break the pace, but eventually she.. is sort of willing to venture it. She stops playing and humming for a moment, and when she finally speaks, it's a bit less of an ironically affected monotone, and much more hushed.]
So... You as bad of a singer as my John was?
no subject
Probably. I never really cared to try.
[He laughs, hands resting in his lap.]
We could always try!

Everyone it seemed wanted to avoid the reminders of what happened. He would have, if he didn't feel like that defeated the purpose of being there for them. His sword is tucked inside his jacket, he appears unarmed.] Hey.
Got a moment?
no subject
Yeah.
[He turns and reaches out, petting Arcanine.]
What's up?
no subject
[Most people would justify themselves, or try to explain the details. Dave just. Admits the obvious things. What else is there? He isn't even looking at John. His head is tipped down, eyes on the ground. There's guilt and shame in the very subtle tension in his shoulders.
He tried.
He rubs behind his shades and takes a step back.]
That's all I wanted to say. I'll get going.
[He takes another, ready to leave the room.]
no subject
John's throat had become tight and he had to swallow and bury his hand deeper in the Arcanine's fur. Petting a little more adamantly. Fuck everything, he didn't want to revisit any of this. But here he is being forced to for the second time today.
Okay. Deep breaths John.]
It's okay, Dave. I'm not mad at you. I'm not upset with you. I'm upset that I wasn't able to help you.
[John just wishes he could have helped all of his friends snap out of it. He's trying to get Dave to see that this wasn't his fault. At all.]
You don't have to go.
no subject
The Dragonite shifts on her haunches then pads over and presents her nose to him. She even flutters her wings a little hopefully, you're charmed by this right?
You'll pet her right?]
no subject
[John is not going to go soft here, no. He's just having a momentary "oh shit" kind of moment and it wasn't having a good effect on him. He looks up at the Dragonite....of course he's charmed.
Here Snoop, have some pats from John.]
You couldn't stop yourself, you shouldn't apologize. It wasn't your fault.
no subject
Let's at least change how you're armed, man. Even if you have to learn how to use a sword, something is better than nothing.
no subject
If I could fix what I have, that would be great. I guess until then I need to learn how to use something other than my fist, or stealing alternate me's hammer.
