Format: Prose starting, but will match.
Summary: V/V puts on a concert.
Warnings: None

On the promised day, V/V had set out several instruments, most notably guitars, on a makeshift stage that was really just a blanket in the meadow. There was also a small table that had food set upon it, now that food was more widely available and came in forms other than nutrition bars.

V/V herself was waiting for people to show up, strumming her blue guitar idly. If anyone looked her way, she offered a bright smile.

FIRST SONG - V/V's song

To begin with, V/V thought she'd play her own song, the one that came most easily to her heart. She smiled at the crowd, briefly thanked them for coming, and began to sing.

"To the world that may end, that taught everything.

Demise hides the star that seeks the end of the world.
They lament that life comes to an end.
And yet, people dream, singing the praises of life.

The illusion is at the end of the dream everybody wished for.
I am a phantom. Everything is fake.
The phantom song is the voice that draws out emotion.
Spinning the deception is the one true song.

At least if it is a dream, it can take on a desired form, to all people.

SECOND SONG - Tohko's song

"This song is by Tohko Amano, the book girl." V/V had put it to music over the past few days, and worked hard on creating a beautiful melody. She didn't touch a word that had been given to her, though she knew some of them were awkward in places.

This song was a little more forceful than V/V usually sang, but she had the voice to carry it.

She's a people-pleaser.

POST-CONCERT MINGLING

After the concert, V/V would just hop off the 'stage' and head into the crowd, big or small, to chat with the audience.

Tohko, of course, had wandered into the concert to listen to V/V's singing, and while she had been a bit embarrassed to hear her lyrics actually sung, she had enjoyed the whole experience. It was always good to hear music, especially old songs that she knew from home. So, when V/V hopped off the stage, she applauded the girl.

"That was great, V/V! You're really good at singing..but what was that first song?"

"It's one I wrote," V/V explained. "I put it together when I was still back on the Land of Steel, before I came here." She smiled gently. "Did you like your song?"

chaos was not one to sing, due to events in his past..but he had wanted to hear one particular song, so he spoke up.

"I do not know if you know it..but can you sing 'Are You Going to Scarborough Fair'?"

"Ah..alright then. It sounded wonderful." At the question, Tohko smiled sheepishly and scratched her head.

"I did..it's a new experience, writing a song..but I think you sang it beautifully!"

V/V lit up. "I do know that one!" She picked up her guitar and began to sing sweetly, but with a tinge of sadness, as fit the song.

"I worked really hard on the melody... I'm sorry I couldn't sing all of yours," she admitted.

"Oh, it's alright! Don't worry about it..after all, one of them was rather depressing. However, it's wonderful to hear that you worked so hard on it! Maybe you can make a career out of it!"

Tohko was joking a little bit, but to her, V/V was that good.

"I don't know what I'd do with a career - right now I just like to make people happy."

V/V couldn't see herself going to an office every day and having that kind of a career.

chaos silently listened to the song, reminiscing of old times as V/V sang. When she was done, he smiled, even if it did look more melancholy than usual.

"Thank you..that was wonderful."

She did a small bow. "I'm glad you liked it."

[lightofhumanity]

In response, chaos applauded. "And I am glad that you are playing today. It should help a raise a few spirits here."

"I hope so! Everyone here needs it."

[tohko_amano]

Tohko wasn't thinking about an office career..she was just thinking about playing music and making quite a few people happy with it.

"Well, in this place, there's nothing wrong with that! A lot of people could use it, and I enjoyed it."

"I would like to help out more," V/V replied, a bit sadly.

[lightofhumanity]

"They really do..especially in times like these. Hopefully a few other people have enjoyed this."

[tohko_amano]

At that, Tohko sighed, but she kept smiling as she tried to pat V/V on the head. "So would I..but you know, even things like this can help, even if you don't realize it."

Romeo was found in the audience applauding loudly after every song. When V/V came down into the crowd he grinned at her, "You're really good miss!"

Applause seemed a little unnecessary, but Gilgamesh was certainly smiling when he saw the girl step towards the crowd after her performances. He continued sitting on the grass, fiddling with a white daisy as she approached.

"A good way to begin the new month."

V/V did a low bow before him, though she thought it was a bit silly when he was still sitting on the ground. "Thank you. I did my best."
