04 | a thrush singing on yon bush
Characters: V/V and you!
Setting: Meadow floor~
Format: Prose starting, but will match.
Summary: V/V puts on a concert.
Warnings: None
On the promised day, V/V had set out several instruments, most notably guitars, on a makeshift stage that was really just a blanket in the meadow. There was also a small table that had food set upon it, now that food was more widely available and came in forms other than nutrition bars.
V/V herself was waiting for people to show up, strumming her blue guitar idly. If anyone looked her way, she offered a bright smile.
[I'll be putting up a few threads for different songs and for after the concert, and you're welcome to put up your own threads for mingling!]

FIRST SONG - V/V's song
"To the world that may end, that taught everything.
Demise hides the star that seeks the end of the world.
They lament that life comes to an end.
And yet, people dream, singing the praises of life.
The illusion is at the end of the dream everybody wished for.
I am a phantom. Everything is fake.
The phantom song is the voice that draws out emotion.
Spinning the deception is the one true song.
At least if it is a dream, it can take on a desired form, to all people.
Is it getting through? This song?
To the world that taught everything to I who knew nothing.
Is it getting through? This song?
To the dreams which gave a shape to I who had nothing.
I was a deception but
this feeling, if nothing else, was surely real after all.
Is it getting through? This song?
To the world that taught everything to I who knew nothing.
Can you hear it? This song?
It is for you, who gave everything to I who was a fake.
To everything, living on, which remembered me.
To the world which will continue on, spinning emotion."
SECOND SONG - Tohko's song
"Under the sunny sky
My fingertips are warm
It’s the perfect atmosphere
To read a book with you
Through the days, my feelings changed
But I didn’t mind so much
So I just laughed off my pain
I remember all the words
You gave me
They always shine inside me
And remind me of you
If I could see you
Even just once more
I would be happy
To see you, my friend
I wanted you to stop insulting me
Since those words from you stung
I wished for that with all my heart
We enjoyed stories together
And thought I would have liked say thank you
The world ended before I could
So I’ll work hard and try not to cry
I’ll look straight ahead so that I can see you again
I remember all the time
We cherished together
Even though you’re gone, I shall never forget
I would like to believe... that we will meet again"
THIRD SONG - okay *somebody* needed to sing We Are The Champions
"I've paid my dues
Time after time.
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime.
And bad mistakes ‒
I've made a few.
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face
But I've come through.
(And I need just go on and on, and on, and on)
We are the champions, my friends,
And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end.
We are the champions.
We are the champions.
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the world.
I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses,
No pleasure cruise.
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose.
(And I need just go on and on, and on, and on)
We are the champions, my friends,
And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end.
We are the champions.
We are the champions.
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the world.
We are the champions, my friends,
And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end.
We are the champions.
We are the champions.
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions."

It was probably that solace he found in reminders of the wilderness and what had come to him from its depths.
He arrives before V/V starts up her performance and lingers afterwards. The new month had brought wine along with it, and he was not going to pass up the opportunity to sit around and enjoy a drink, even if there was only one type of wine available.]
