unchanging, the earth will always keep on spinning
Characters: Some death kid (Ryoji), a swishy-haired jerk (Sephiroth), and you!
Setting: Dorm 4-16, and Floor 14 to start, but the rest can happen anywhere else. Sephiroth will be training in the gymnasium as well, should anyone want lone encounters with him.
Format: Prose to start, but I'll match.
Summary: Ryoji has just woken up in his new dorm room, and is going about a 'normal' day in the Tower, though he does feel a little strange...
Warnings: Someone is messing with Ryoji slightly, so expect threadjacking that results in bizarre mood swings and paranoia. Ryoji's opinions of various CR may be slightly messed with. Other than that he should be fine this time around.
Dorm 4-16
Even though Ryoji had gotten that letter, it was still a bit of a shock to wake up in a new room. As soon as he was able to move, he sat up as quickly as possible and checked the trunk. Everything there was still the same. Nothing was damaged. It seemed so strange, to be magically transported a few rooms down in the middle of the night, but he supposes stranger things have happened.
He's a little embarrassed that his love-sick request actually got fulfilled, but he has to admit it isn't too bad. He's managed to at least partly forgive himself for brutally murdering Diarmuid, enough to be able to look him in the eyes and smile honestly again, and though he didn't know Lancer very well, he seemed nice enough. Strange, though. Diarmuid hadn't mentioned who his other roommate was...
He'll stay in the room for a while, just to get his thoughts in order, and maybe see if anyone shows up, but after a while, he's ready to go about his regular business. As he leaves his doorway, he pushes a bit of an uncomfortable feeling to the side. He felt strange, but he was certain he wasn't sick. It was simply an interesting start to the day that made him feel like this, nothing more.
Floor 14
A few hours later, Ryoji has already forgotten about that nagging paranoia, and is enjoying an animated film with some cartoon animals. He hasn't seen this one before, and is clearly invested in the story. His eyes light up as one of the characters bounces onscreen, and he's laughing at all the right times.
If anyone decides to enter the floor, he'll be a little too absorbed in the movie to notice them, but he still wouldn't mind a distraction.
Any other public area in the tower
Unfortunately, some of those distractions ended up going a tad awry, and now Ryoji's starting to suspect that he should have trusted his instinct this morning. He can be found on any other floor, but whether he's reading in the library or getting rid of some of the monsters on infested floors, he's keeping his distance unless spoken to. Then he'll shove his worries down and try to hold a regular conversation. He just hopes he's just having a bad day. His friends are still trustworthy, aren't they? He's just reading into things too much. Maybe he didn't completely get over how he acted during that experiment.

I'm alright..but it's good to hear that you're feeling a bit better since the last time I saw you. I guess going to your floor helped calm you down.
no subject
Ah, it did, yes. And honestly, you were a pretty big help too, Tohko-chan...
no subject
Well, that's great! I'm always happy to help, so I'm glad to hear that I was able to help you out..but you know, you don't have to use a suffix with my name.
no subject
Are you sure? I thought I had to use one unless someone's like family... I could be wrong, because I wasn't in Japan very long, but...
[Thought]
no subject
Well, you usually only stop using them when it's a family member or when someone is a really close friend. Since we're close friends, you don't have to use suffixes unless you really want to.
no subject
[That question slips out before Ryoji can stop it, and he shakes his head slightly, wondering why he's feeling so upset. Sure, Tohko was stubborn and wouldn't really leave him alone, but he didn't dislike her.]
no subject
I wouldn't usually talk to someone that I didn't like..but if I had to, I probably wouldn't use any suffixes either, since they've gotten so close to me that I have developed negative feelings for them.
no subject
Sorry, that was a weird question, huh? I just was wondering, because there are a few people that I don't really get along with here... I mean, Sephiroth and Ganondorf aren't friends at all.
no subject
It's alright. I'm not really friends with Sephiroth anymore either, and Ganon and I have never been on good terms. However, I still just call them by their first name whenever I have to talk to them.
no subject
And she doesn't know when to leave alone. Who cares about how you talk to someone in this place, anyway.
[And why not let that anger just channel right into Ryoji when his name is mentioned. It's rude to talk about people behind their backs, Ryoji.]
no subject
Does it really matter what we call each other? I think someone should be able to call another person whatever they want, Tohko-chan.
[He emphasizes the honourific. He's not going to stop using it. For some reason, he's not feeling too agreeable today.]
no subject
But it wasn't. At that, Tohko sighed, and her smile vanished.]
..I think it does matter what we call each other. After all..it's not like we can call each other 'monster' or 'demon' and have that be acceptable, since it's not true. Ryoji, are you feeling alright?
no subject
I-I'm sorry, Tohko. I don't know what's going on with me... I didn't mean to say that.
[He doesn't at all, and that scares him. Have the strange turns his previous conversations have taken all his doing? He thought he was happy today, but instead he was a mess of fluctuating emotions, the only constant being this fear of everyone around him.]
no subject
It's alright..don't worry about it. Maybe someone's controlling your thoughts or your emotions?
no subject
Controlling? I... h-how?
[It doesn't feel like Nyx. She would have made it difficult to feel anything, and these emotions are too intense. Even the administrators didn't seem like the type.]
no subject
I don't know..but there might be someone in Ganon's group that's controlling you. I know Nesir can't, and Ganon himself wouldn't, so that only leaves one person: Sephiroth.
[Sadly, Tohko didn't know of the other members of Ganon's group, so she was pinning all the blame on him.]
[Action - projection in Italics]
It couldn't be. But if it was...
[Ryoji might feel a wave of heat right then, as if he were stood next to a roaring inferno. If Ryoji blinks he might for an instant see what the Library would look like, all ablaze. Tohko's skin melting from her face...]
If Sephiroth has this sort of power, there is no telling what else he might be capable of. You've underestimated him, and he might know everything about you now. All about everyone you care about.
no subject
...of course, all of that changes with that hallucination, even if he only saw it for a second. That didn't matter. He could still feel the heat, suffocating him, but he doesn't dare move to wipe the sweat from his forehead. All he can do is gape at Tohko, breathing getting faster and faster. It couldn't be true. He couldn't do anything like that, could he?
But if he could... if he knew who he cared about, Sephiroth may know Ryoji even better than he knows himself. Everyone's in danger. Not just Tohko, but Diarmuid, Yukiko, Minato...
He swallows and shakes his head. The only thing he can do now is try to get Tohko off Sephiroth's trail, so she'll be safe.]
It can't be him. I haven't even seen him in weeks.
no subject
Just because you haven't seen him doesn't mean that he can't bother you. He's either hiding or using some form of long-distance magic. Or can you think of anyone else who would be doing this?
no subject
[He's not entirely sure, but Sephiroth does seem pretty self-centered. Just look at his hair.]
no subject
Probably.]
But if the Administrators didn't like you, they would probably just send a stalker after you, like they did with me. And I can't think of anyone else who was at that meeting who would have a reason to do this. Or did someone else show up after I died?
no subject
[Ryoji glances at that worker unit, and then shakes his head.]
Maybe mine's different somehow? And there was another person who showed up after you, and others who didn't show up that still probably know all about it. There are plenty of people that could have done it.
[Does he sound convincing yet?]
no subject
[Not really.]
no subject
[He knows him well enough to know that he was a good person, and likely wasn't to blame for it, but he can't let Tohko know about that.]
