Summary: Zett has hide and seek to play. Then he finds a doll...
Warnings: None so far. Violence likely in the doll prompt. Chloe's thread gets creepy in sexual ways.

[Floor 92/Floor 73]
[If you're someone who's agreed to play hide and seek with Zett, on the agreed-upon day and time you'll find Zett tapping his foot impatiently near the stairway.] There you are!

[If you're not someone who's agreed to play, well, you might run into him waiting for his partner anyway. He'll explain what he's doing if asked.]

[Floor 99]
[Zett spends a lot of time in the caverns here. They remind him of his home in the Deep Hole, actually...

Visitors will find him just lying on his back staring up at the ceiling.]

[Around the Tower]
[It looks like Zett's giving a guide to the tower to someone, stopping at each floor on the stairway and explaining that floor's particular hazards to them. It's very thoughtful of him to do so.

Unfortunately, that 'someone' is a doll from the toy shop. Resembling a redheaded girl, it doesn't look exactly like the friend Zett left at home... But the doll's powers of suggestion are strong and he's now convinced that Mirai Kaname has entered the tower.

And he will lash out violently if anyone attempts to hurt her.]

Zett shook his head, his expression a melancholy one. "No, he isn't. Not yet."

For others, this was the moment where sympathy and empathy should have won out and made them feel compassion for Zett's situation. After all, it was only natural to feel for someone who was missing a good friend, or a loved one. Chloe, however, was not one known for her gifts in empathy. She tilted at his chin with another hand, tipping it up just slightly.

"It's not really cheating if you get lonely waiting for him, you know," she said softly. "Don't you think he'd forgive a little dalliance, if you were there for him when he arrived?"

Zett narrowed his eyes a little. Truth be told, he wasn't even really dating Setsuna... but Setsuna was the one his heart was set on, and Chloe didn't really measure up.

Yes, he did believe in only sleeping with people you loved.

"Is that your second question?" he asked.

The way his eyes narrowed, it made her smile creep upwards more. She had her answer in those narrowed, perturbed eyes. "Just a bit of thinking to myself. I think the one who can't do the forgiving is you from those pretty little eyes of yours," she said softly. "But they do make me think of another question..."

The look in her eyes said she didn't really care if she measured up. Sometimes, a challenge was part of the fun. "Tell me honestly. Did you enjoy our kiss?"

"Wouldn't really know." If he was being honest. "It's the only one I've had."

Were kisses supposed to feel better? Worse? He didn't know.

That made her a little surprised. She'd stolen his first kiss? The barest color blossomed in her cheeks and then was gone in a second. "Come now. I didn't ask you to compare it, just to tell me if you liked the experience. I can offer a refresher if you really need one..."

"Not necessary," he answered quickly. Do not want. "Yeah, it was good."

The finger rubbed the thumb up under his chin, not quite leaving. She was surprised he didn't pull away, didn't either run or simply muscle her off. There was clearly a dead mummy somewhere around this pyramid, and yet he didn't look like he'd broken a sweat. If he wanted to stop her, he could.

"Not necessary, but they can be fun," she whispered, leaning up closer, so that her breath was running over his lips. At this moment, the thought might have crossed his mind of how many inappropriate, invasive questions she could ask, questions he didn't have the answers to.

"Describe your true form for me. Please." Apparently not this time.

"I could just show you... If you'd step back a little." There was color in his cheeks. "I wouldn't want to hurt you after all."

And it was the truth. Despite how awkward and embarrassed she made him feel, she'd answered his request for a game and played more-or-less fairly.

She smiled, lingering there for a second as if trying to decide. And then, she took a few steps back to the other side of the hallway, giving him room. A little hand motion and she indicated he was welcome to if he wished. Mentally, she prepared herself for several possibilities.

There was a moment when Zett's form was enveloped by darkness, and then the first thing Chloe would likely see was a buglike arm reaching out from the shadows. Then another. When the darkness cleared several bug arms rested on what would have been Zett's hips if he'd had legs instead of his body trailing off into a point, what looked like a second mouth on his lower half. His nails had grown into sharp claws, and probably most noticeably, he was supported by the gentle beats of four wings.

"Surprise?"

Ok, her eyes widened, and her back did press a little more firmly against the wall. Atia had always made the nonhumans more or less human in appearance, so they looked a little different, but not like this. It didn't entirely terrify her, but if he was the sort to pick up on it, her pulse was racing a little in her veins right about then. She did not, however, look repulsed.

She'd been around too many that weren't human to care much, even if he was considerably less human than they had been. "A little, yes," she breathed. "I seem to be out of questions you must be truthful with, though I've several more I might ask..."

"Why not? It seems like honesty hour anyway." Zett shrugged, lifting one of his human hands to his chin. "Truth or dare is a fine game on its own, even if there's a lot less skill involved."

"Very well, we'll play truth or dare," she said, closing her eyes and breathing in before laughing to herself. "And if we don't answer the question, we have to do the dare. Why don't you claim the first choice, since I won the last round?"

"Fine by me."

Was he going to regret this? Quite possibly.

"Truth, please."

Probably. That attempt at a smile was certainly an indicator right now.

"What sort of demon are you, exactly? I've met a few, and the way it works is so different that it's better to ask for specifics."

[belzebul]

"Baal Zebul. I don't really have a type of demon - I'm not an Oni or a Pixie," Zett explains, "I'm just me. Bad annswer, but it's the truth. Truth or dare?"

Lord of the Flies. That explained a lot. She didn't follow Christian mythos much, but the implications of the name made several things likely. One of those was that he was in the same category as Lucifer had been.

Definitely jealous, and a little nervous.

"Truth."

[belzebul]

"What do you want most in life?"

Zett chose a different tack of uncomfortable questions.

She considered that. Leaning up against the wall, she could think of a few possibilities, but in the end one of them suited far more closely than others. It had been a lot of why she'd served Thanatos on the island, a lot of why she'd been so loyal to Altena all those years...

"To matter. I wish to be something special, and to matter in the broader scheme," she said, shrugging. It wasn't 'that' uncomfortable yet. "To leave a mark, if you will."

"Truth... or Dare?"

"I can sympathize with that..." Though, it wouldn't have been his own answer.

Zett shot her a smirk this time. "Dare."

She got up off of the wall and began to walk towards him. The nerves were there, apparent as she drew closer, but she was managing them better than most probably would have.

As she got closer, her fingers trailed along the edge of his arm and she leaned in more closely. "Very well... I want to know a little more how your mind works. I dare you to do the first thing that comes to your mind. No hesitating," she said, knowing that this might be a bit of a risk...

His arms sparked slightly with electricity. It wouldn't give Chloe more than a bit of pain, brief as it was, but the message was clear: back off.

"Truth or dare?" he asked, pulling his arms closer to his chest. "And if that bruises, remember that you asked for it."

mild heads up: Chloe may be getting more than a little creepy...

The reaction was ... probably not what he expected. She did rise up, her whole body arching from the electricity. However, when she dropped, she was at a knee and a hand on the wall nearby. Her teeth clenched and she shuddered, giving off scents that were not of pain.

"T...truth," she whispered huskily. "And... if you want to hurt me, please don't use that technique. It will have the opposite effect to an extent..."

If she ever wanted to see a demon blush, now was her chance. Zett squeaked a little and looked away. "First reaction. Sorry."

It took him a moment to get back the question he'd had prepared. "How many people have you kissed in the Tower?"
